Motivation Mondays

I’ve been following the Blogging 201 course on WordPress and Monday’s assignment struck a chord with me: Today’s assignment: create a recurring blogging event on your site, and/or make plans to attend a blogging conference. I’ve been thinking of ways to strengthen the Motivational theme of this blog and the assignment gave me courage to take a leap of faith and add a weekly event to my blog. Since this blog is called Mirth and Motivation, I thought it would be a good idea to start the week with a motivational quote or two. So welcome to Motivation Mondays! I invite you to jump in and add your Motivation Mondays post and I’d do a round-up of them for us and others to enjoy.

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C. S. Lewis

Motivation Mondays: MLK Day – I Have A Dream Speech

  • Hi, Eliz!
I’m coming out of hiatus (or hibernation, depression, coma – whatever that was…) and am energised and motivated to make a new dream come true: “Quilting Oneness” – I’ll comment again when it’s live 🙂

The Blogging 201 came exactly at the right moment, in fact it started the same day that I set up my new blog. “Enermazing” will be continued, too, but only with occasional posts.

    Maria xxx

    • So delighted to hear from you Maria. I’m so happy you are getting back on track. We have both been on hiatus… I took about one year off and the return has been choppy. Recently signed up with a VA and its turning around. Please let me know once your site is live as I’d love to continue where we left off. Hugs.

  • Blogging is a tougher business than people realize. Wanting to share information that is helpful to others requires some organization. Your tips are helpful. Thanks.

  • I love the idea of Motivation Mondays. These quotes are great – and so inspiring to start the week.

  • Oh, I love Motivation! I’ve been stuck lately, and I need a little push to get going again!

  • You’re so right about seizing the moment and following your dreams! This is something I’ve thought about before and something I want to encourage my daughter to do.

  • Thank you for this post today. I have been having a rough day and it put a smile on my face.

  • This is great, motivation Mondays sound awesome. You just gave me an idea for a workshop for a conference I am holding in the spring, thank you. I am looking forward to participating here more often. If you can dream it, you can most definitely do it! Disney is proof : )

  • I love your opening quote. It is just the motivation that I need to make it through this day, which is going to be extremely long.

  • Motivation Mondays are a great way to start the week. I use to do that on my blog.. I really need to get back to it.

  • What beautiful quotes. That is so true about dreaming. Dream big or go home! 🙂

  • You are so much better at this stuff than I am. I do go to the wordpress forums now and then squawking about not being able to link something or other, and I do have the Daily Post in my reader, but I don’t think its ever guided my content. Perhaps I ought to think again. Once again as always, I love the quotes you use 🙂

    • Peter, you know I’d gladly help you with any issues you might have. I squawk at them too and they respond. Frankly, I started this to help myself and others start Mondays on an up note. Mondays are a tough start usually. Glad to see you here! 🙂 👍

  • I live by walt disney motto! Dreams and there to be reached and if not enjoyed along the way! Motivational monday is a fab idea, i’m sure lots will benefit.

  • A great idea to keep people motivated and give them a little lift to start the week. Especially with winter upon us, will see what I can contribute! 🙂 Simone x

  • I had that C.S. Lewis quote pinned on my Twitter account for a long while. It’s fantastic! Also, I think Monday is the perfect day for motivation.

  • This is a nice blog challenge. I will definitely join for November. I’ll leave my links here. I will also like the page in Facebook. This is a great way to bring out our creativity while contributing motivation to other people. Count me in! 🙂

  • Love the motivation quotes you have. I’m a big believer in creating your destiny rather than letting it all just happen. Thanks for the reminder!

  • Interesting exercises. I will check out that Blogging 201 course site you recommended to see if it is fit for me. -Fred

  • “If you can dream it, you can do it” – that sums up everything about this article. The idea of Motivation Mondays inspires me, as anyone can share a motivational information they would love to express. I wish to take part on this for sure.

    • Thank you Fathima! You are welcome to add to the Facebook page and community. I made both public so all can have easy access. I added the themes for November and we can all lift each other up weekly.

  • I appreciate you for sharing this. We should stay motivated. Mine is to be always grateful. Count each blessing. #Gratitude

  • Everything starts with a dream. It’s important to dream big and work hard in achieving it.

      • We need to have the idealism to go for our dreams and the passion to fulfill them. It should always go hand in hand.

      • Exactly. I bet that’s the maxim you employ as a distance runner. We need both (dream and passion) to stay fueled and focused. Even if there are setbacks on the path, our passion will make us get up to fulfill the dream. Thanks again for the followup comment. 🙂

  • I am so fascinated by this project. It is great that the bloggers who love to follow your blog as I do get united by motivational themes like the ones that you chose. As this Motivation Monday the theme is dream I would like to share a favorite quote of mine about dreams: Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions. ~Edgar Cayce

  • I love the ideas of assigning a theme to a day when blogging. Thank you for sharing you motivational quotes I look forward to more. When I am feeling uninspired or off track I love looking up quotes to boost my spirits and get me back in the swing of things. Great Post!

    • Thank you Latifah! I am the same way. My friends know that I write this blog not because I have all the answers ( I don’t), but because I want to remind myself to stay motivated and encouraged. We often talk about what we need most. Glad you are in the group. Again welcome! 🙂

  • I am a dreamer and so is the hubs. We are both big dreamers. Love those quotes. I’ve always been a fan of inspirational quotes like those.

  • Love motivational Monday! So many people are doing it know, I can say it’s totally motivating me!

  • I like this initiative. It’s so positive and inspiring. Maybe I will submit one once I’m done with my blogging debts! Also I can do a guest blog exchange with you too? 🙂 From Singapore by the way!

  • Great idea. When things get tough, and they will, you have to dig deep find inspiration and find the courage to persist…even when everything or everyone around you tells you to give up.

  • Mondays are hard. Some positive messages are a great way to start a new week!

  • I might just do this. Monday is usually the most hated day of the week – even I am guilty of it. I like this one because it’s gonna help set the tone for me and it’s going to be a positive one 🙂

  • I dreamt that I had super powers once. I still don’t think I can do that *tear*

  • Dreamiing is the first step in moving forward with what you want to accomplish. It’ll go hand-in-hand with planning on how to take actions.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this inspiration! It will definitely help me stay motivated this week!

  • Ohhh!! I”ve seen a few of these starting up and really like the idea that people are focusing on starting the week off on a positive note. I enjoy stopping by a blog and being randomly surprised with such an upbeat post 🙂

  • I’m liking the motivational tip! at times, its hard to be motivated but seeing others being motivated can be inspiring

  • How do you find other posts that have done the same theme? Why aren’t they linked to this post?

  • Aw so this is when your weekly series began? That is so cool and sometimes when I wake up I write things down as well x

  • There are some great quotes here 🙂 I believe we should always follow our dreams! x
