“Women in particular need to keep an eye on their physical and mental health, because if we’re scurrying to and from appointments and errands, we don’t have a lot of time to take care of ourselves. We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own ‘to do’ list.” Michelle Obama
There isn’t anybody out there who doesn’t have a mental health issue, whether it’s depression, anxiety, or how to cope with relationships. Having OCD is not an embarrassment anymore – for me. Just know that there is help and your life could be better if you go out and seek the help. Howie Mandel
This is mental health awareness month, and self-care is an important facet of maintaining our health on all levels. It begins with our thoughts, our actions, and our emotional state. If we take time to nurture our bodies and our minds, we will be giving ourselves a much needed boost. Mental health is a powerful driver of our development, sense of security and well-being. When we feel unsure or unstable, the impact flows into all areas of our lives. It affects our relationships with our friends and family, it affects our interactions with our children, and it impinges on our workplace as well as on our sense of self. The challenge many face, has to do with the stigma and shame that still come with publicly owning our mental health story/struggle. In many parts of the world, it remains a taboo subject. This is why we must keep speaking up and out.
If we value our mind, body and spirit, we must continue to speak up and remind each other to begin with self-care.
“Self-esteem is as important to our well-being as legs are to a table. It is essential for physical and mental health and for happiness.” Louise Hart
Self-care is a conscious decision we must take to make our lives easier and whole. It is grounded in our self-esteem or our perception of same. Our self-esteem is inextricably tied to our mental health, and when we are unable to care for ourselves, we see the impact; it flows into everything and disrupts our efforts at self-care. Don’t give up. Fight it. When we set aside ME Time for rest, exercise, check ups and self nurturing activities, we are performing actions that can help extend our lives and support our mental and personal health care needs.
However, we must take action. We must be both proactive and protective about our mental health concerns, issues and needs. The more we treat ourselves with care and consideration, the more likely we will be able to create balance and feelings of wellness in our lives. The more we focus on actions and thoughts that nourish our self-esteem, the greater the positive impact will be on our lives.

“The problem with the stigma around mental health is really about the stories that we tell ourselves as a society. What is normal? That’s just a story that we tell ourselves.” Matthew Quick
Mental health is an area where people are embarrassed. They don’t want to talk about it because somehow they feel they’re a failure as a parent or, you know, they’re embarrassed for their child or they want to protect their child, lots of very good reasons, but mental health, I feel, is something that you have to talk about. Anna Wintour
When we talk about self-care, we must remember to talk about mental health as a critical component of self-care. It is not enough to go to a spa and enjoy the R&R they offer, we must also ensure that all areas of our lives are in check. We must do the same for our loved ones. By becoming an advocate for our own well-being, we will become emboldened to advocate for our children and others in need of mental health care. If I’m stressed out, anxious about issues in my life, and struggling with unresolved matters, seeking professional guidance should be an important part of the healing process. If I seek the appropriate guidance to help me deal with my stress, I will stand a much better chance of gaining control over my life. It is NOT a sign of weakness to ask for help. Those who do seek help are able to learn long term coping strategies and then go on to live productive lives. So, during this season of change and mental health awareness be vigilant about your needs and get all the help you can. Self-care is your birth right and it can save your life.

“You cannot share when you have an empty cup.” That is one of the best advises I’ve received this year and it aligns perfectly with what you’re preaching.
Self care may sound easy but I think most of us lack self care or when we think of it,we might be taking care of the outer appearance and forget what`s inside which i believe is more important.
Thanks for sharing, this is really motivating.
It is a great thing to do during mental health awareness month, remember ourselves. Sometimes we get so busy we don’t take the time out we need for ourselves. Simply because we just don’t MAKE the time to.
Great read ☺ Elizabeth thank you for letting us know about the importance of self care which we often ignore either intentionally or at times unintentionally! Seeking professional guidance is the best idea to deal with any kind of mental health issues.
Women’ especially mothers’ generally neglect self-care to take of the family. Its high time we realize that we need to be the best version of ourselves to be able to find happiness in helping others.
This is a great reminder for us women, especially moms, who tend to forget about self-care because we’re busy caring for our family. And it’s important to note that self-care goes beyond getting a massage or a getting your nails done. It’s about our bodies and our minds as a whole. 🙂
I’m in a particularly busy and crazy season, and several people have reminded me to practice self care. I wasn’t even sure what that looked like. But now after reading your post it motivates me so much. Thank you for the tip ” Self Care begins with us”
I ahve a lot of self care routines each day and that includes watching my favorite movie, cooking and sleeping. choose something that you thoroughly enjoy. Sometimes it is not bad to take a break.
How I practice self care? I’ll keep this simple. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a day. I always keep that in mind no matter how busy I am. That would be a big help 🙂
I really believe in self-care as a part of my happiness. I think it’s important to take care of myself especially when I’m feeling down. It makes me feel more love for myself and slowly being acceptance of who I am.
Indeed self care is the greatest virtue for a happy and contented life but our modern day pulls and pressures are surely taking a toll and we are resorting to more quick pleasures.
What an important topic to cover, mental health is a big issues for a lot of people and for the longest time people thought having things like depression and anxiety were just BS it is nice to see people being supportive of those who suffer from it now.
Self care is very important. When people don’t do self care, their self esteem goes down and the more it goes down, the more that no self care happens. It’s a vicious cycle but hopefully, more people will learn the art of loving themselves.
Thank your dear reader for making your way here! Please pause and think about what you can add to keep this conversation on a high level. You are here… make it matter. Please don’t thank me for sharing. Let me do the thanking. Don’t tell me great post either… that’s what all the lazy thinking spammers say, and your comment will end up in my spam box. Think about the post you see and respond to its content. I will always do the same for you… Let’s respect our blog visits with each other. Stay encouraged and Thank You! <3 🙂
When I feel like I am being overwhelmed by life and responsibilities I usually take a break and go away by myself for a few days to regroup my thoughts and get some perspective. I have known a few people over the years who suffered from depression or anxiety and were too ashamed to seek professional help because they felt somehow stigmatized by it.
Self-care is the most important care, I think we get so busy with other projects and helping others. We forget that we need to take care of ourselves, especially mentally. Sometimes we just need to take some time and evaluate our own mental state. It’s also important to understand that it is not weak to ask for help. Sometimes there is such a stigma, but there is nothing wrong with admitting that you need help from an outside source.
Mental health and self care really is so important and so many of us lose sight of that in the hustle and bustle of day to day activities. I think the biggest one for me is definitely asking for help … I love that you mentioned how it’s not weak to ask for help and I couldn’t agree more! I think it actually shows great strength to recognize you need it and to reach out.
xx J
I totally agree with you self care is the key. If we don’t take care of ourselves no one will. Having a check regularly is the key. I always check my myself mentally too. Great post
I make sure to listen to ME and what I want before anyone else tells me what to do. I am in control of me, no one else. So if I feel as though I cannot do XYZ, well, then I won’t. And I own it.
I think self-esteem is a very fragile thing but you’re absolutely right that we should seek to maintain a healthy life balance. It’s far too easy to be dragged down by the trivia in our lives.
May is Mental Health month and even so, it is nice to reminder us all to take time to take care of ourselves, mind, body and spirit every month. Thanks for the reminder in this jam-packed and relevant article.
Self care is truly very important. And it can be so much more so for those who suffer from mental illness. It is important to remind people suffer silently and we need to be there to support them.
I think self-care needs to be understood more by the general public in today’s nworld. It’s ok to take day off, it is ok to say no, it is ok to seek help, and it’s ok to rest.
It is kind of shaming of how often we, women, forget about dedicating some time to ourselves, and practice self care. We are stressing about work, about family life, about everything but us. It’s important to remember to take a break from time to time and just do something that we love, just relax.
Self-care is essential in every individuals life not only to become physically healthy but also mentally healthy, just like water as we need it when we got thirsty.
Self care is so important. I wish more people took time for themselves and made sure they were good before trying to help other people. My fiance and zi used to drain ourselves because were trying to help other people and it would just cause arguments between us.
I think it’s important to be open about mental health and we should all be more aware of how fragile it can be. Taking time to think about how we can help ourselves stay strong is important.
Self-care is quite important. Nobody can help you unless you first help yourself. Mental illness is common and we should focus on our mental health before it’s too late.
You clearly put alot of time and love into this post. You are right, we all have something that’s off kilter. Life is far from perfect, so we have those obstacles to thank for much of it!
Such a great topic. Many people even at my age, don’t have a self care routine. Work or business makes them really stressed that they prefer to make their self care a least priority.
Self-care is important to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself, sometimes called self-love. It produces positive feelings, which improves confidence and self-esteem too. Self-care is important for your family and friends too.
Before I used to make time for myself to do things I enjoyed, I used to expericence a lot of anxiety. Self care is so important for our entire health and well-being.
This is important content. So many people think that the need for self care is a sign of weakness which means that they aren’t doing it and paying the price. Self care is so important and more people need to say so.
Enjoy my read & learnt some self care tips, a great reminder, thanks for this lovely sharing, agreeing absolutely self care really important. cheers siennylovesdrawing
I feel good that I can say I have actually been doing better with my own self care lately. Jogging, not eating late night any more, even giving myself permission to do nothing some days just to recharge have all been great for my overall mental and physical health. I plan to keep my positive streak going too!
When i experienced depression and anxiety before i did not know that that was what i was experiencing. It took a toll on me and becuase i could not explain the void. But now i am able yo talk about it and help people cope with these struggles.
Self care is so important. You can’t take care of anyone else, if you don’t take care of you! That’s why I started my “Treat Yourself Tuesday” blog post series. To remind others (and myself!) to take time for self care and love <3
Truly important topic and I see myself here in so many ways. There are so many dos and dont’s out there and just managing all that life put on our shoulders can sometimes be hard. Still if you do not feel good about yourself, care about yourself and your mental state it is hard to perform and to be good vs others. I have become better during my years but still easy to forget this so great to put some structure to it!
Self care truly matters because when you care for yourself, you set the tone for the people around you. They know how to treat you, they know what your boundaries are and they will respect you. If everyone did this, there would be more harmony and peace in the world.
A very close person in my life did not get treated because her parents thought of hiding her mental illness. We need to aware everyone that it’s important to take self care and mental health.
My favorite part of this post is this quote: “Self-esteem is as important to our well-being as legs are to a table. It is essential for physical and mental health and for happiness.” Louise Hart
I can’t agree more mental health should be our top most priority. A healthy mind makes healthy being. Self care shouldn’t be optional, it should be priority.
It can be a daily battle, especially as a stay at home or work at home mom to remember that you need to take care of yourself. I always have issues like this. I can’t remember when was the last time I even went to see the doctor when it wasn’t in conjunction with being pregnant or in childbirth. It really can add to the stress a woman feels when she forgets to take care of herself.
Mental is for sure an important component. Many moms are cool until they are not. We are so super strong that when things erupt it can be pretty bad. We are made to do much, but it doesn’t mean we don’t need some self-care at times.
I know I sometimes can get sidetracked with my everyday life and with my side hustles and I actually forget to take better care of myself. I think this is important especially mothers of daughters. Showing them that we value ourselves and take care of our selves is very important.
I think that it is so important to take some time and do some self care practices. I know that when I feel stressed or overwhelmed as soon as I have a little me time, I feel much better.
it has been a long time since I visited our page. I felt like I missed a lot. I love this article – it talks about self care. I can relate.. I thought self care limits to self. I’m aware now that self care also involve caring for love ones..
I think it so important to motivate each other! Thanks a lot for sharing all these Motivation Monday posts and especially for all the dates that will help me remember what is there to celebrate!
Self care is really important especially to the working class, many of whom tend to lose love for oneself due to the multitude of stresses brought by life.
I love reading your motivation posts. Thank you for taking up this topic on self care. It’s so important but most women neglect it. I think we women need to be committed to ourselves first.
Hi I never knew that this is mental health awareness month. Thanks for sharing. Plus, today there’s not much quotes for me to read.. 🙂 Happy blogging!!!!!
Self care is really important. I always make sure that I have my “me time” sometimes and I spend most of it by sleeping and do some yoga. Or cooking my favorite food.
I make sure I take my maintenance medications at the right time. Having a chronic illness does prevent me from enjoying activities I used to love. But minding my health, (mental and physical) in the best way i can is as close to self care as I can get.
I couldnt agree more! self-esteem and self care is so important for a women. Our will power and mental health could move to do more and allow us to take care of ourselves. A women should focus on her health since a healthy women means healthy family.
I am so grateful for the light that is shining on mental illness which was taboo for a while. As women, we care for others and often we forget to care for our own selves. It’s good and necessary to voice our feeling and pain.
Self care can be so hard sometimes. Especially as a mom since I give so much of myself and time to my young boys. There are times, though, that it gets to be more than I can handle and that’s when I ask for help. Usually, it’s from my husband, but it’s so important to know when you’re at your breaking point.
Ill say it again make sure you find time to take care of yourself. Stressing out about something you cant control is pointless. COntinue encouraging people to talk about mental health !
I definitely agree with you. It’s high time that we should not ignore our mental health. I struggle with mental illness and I am open about it. And self care for your better mental health is a must.
It’s always good to read some motivational and inspiring tips. Mental health is very important aspect of every woman’s life coz if she is not healthy mentally, then everyone around her has to suffer. Great read. Thanks.
Self-care is important to mental health, we need to take time to think about our own well-being. Being able to have time to relax and destress is important.
Beautiful message, Elizabeth. You have actually reminded me of a post I wrote about concerning what many of us call “normal”.
And part of my energy this month, I am part of a group here in Uganda that keeps on sharing about our troubles, challenges, joys and sorrows as a better of growing mentally health. This happens online. I hope we are doing something great.
Last year was all about self-care and I feel like that’s why I had such a good year. I definitely need to work on it more this year, so thanks for the reminder.
I think self-esteem is really important on how you can convey your ideas or thoughts to your friends and family. It does take a lot of building and saving up as it can make or break a person. Higher self-esteem means more confidence in anything you do.
I like Michelle Obama’s words on health care; it is increasingly important as we getting older. We are too busy with work and taking care of others, and it is easily to forget that we should take care of ourselves too.
This is so very important. A lot of parents especially are so stressed out from running around trying to take care of their families, and forget to stop and take care of themselves, and get help when they need it.
Howie Mandel said it right, there is not one person who does not suffer from a mental health issue. So iir can benefit is all to take care of ourselves.
I love your last point especially. Feeling that asking for help is a sign of weakness is a very real problem that many have. I love that so many bloggers have taken it upon themselves to raise awareness.
I loved reading your post! I think you nailed it completely, and the relation between mental health and self-care is definitely an essential one. Nothing has helped me more to value myself, to respect myself again and to be able to go onward with my life like starting taking care of my health, my fitness and nutrition.
I love that you mention seeking professional help. It is frowned upon in my community, and sometimes it is necessary. Just talking to a friend is not going to help in some cases (experiencing it with a friend). Misery is starting to want company, and I don’t want any parts.
It’s very important to schedule ME time because nobody will schedule it for you. Rest, exercise, check up and enjoyable activities will help our self-esteem as well as our mental and personal health care needs.
You are at it again I feel blessed when ever I read your post, I have come to know now that my“Self-esteem is as important to me as my well-being as legs are to a table. It is essential for physical and mental health and for happiness. I love this line thanks for this knowledge.
Mental health awareness week is such a needed intitiative. So many people are labouring under the burden of mental health. Self care just like you stated is so important in maintaining our mental health.
Self care is so important to me. It means consistent mani/pedi, biweekly soaks in a tub, occasional massages and mindful walking. It means everything to me.
Thank you so much for creating awareness. I struggle with mental illness too. And so many times I find it tough to take care of my self. That’s why I am planning to set up a small self care routine for bad days.
I think well being of every person starts with self care. One can not be good to others if the said person is not good for his or her self. Or so I believe
you are so right when it comes to self-care and its impact on our self-esteem. i find that when i am so tired and stressed… i become an even greater negative critic on myself than i usually am. this is why i try to at least ensure i get plenty of sleep as there are so many things that go into self-care that does require some energy and focus.
This is one thing we skip over…or misunderstand. Self-care includes your mental health. I just recently had to separate myself from a close friendship because it was just flat out toxic. This friend really doesn’t understand that they really were mentally-exhausting.
So often we forget to incorporate self-care into our daily routine. Doing so is so critical to both our mental and physical well-being, and should always be taken into account!
self care is sooo easy to forget. we always think that we need to take care of matters around us first than ourselves, when we can’t function properly without ourselves being well first
Is is so true what Michelle Obama says. Women have so much more things to do than men, they have to take care of the house, the children, have a career as well. It is hard to maintain a balanced relationship and find time for self care as well.
thank you for the motivation, especially when it’s Monday it really felt a bit lazy to stand up coming from the weekend. But reading this sure helps me get motivated. thanks dear for sharing.
I think that a lot of times we don’t take time out to take care of ourselves. We just feel like we can do everything and sometimes we feel like we don’t need to ask for help when we can. I completely agree that it is okay to reach out for help, especially when life gets overwhelming. It is important to take time out to do something for ourselves and to manage our mental, physical, and emotional health.
I understand the importance of self-care but it is so easy to lose myself in all the things that I need to do around the house and all the people I need to care for. I am getting better at just taking time for myself and expecting more from the other people in my home. We are also having the aide for my father come more often to help out.
I need to get back to my self-care routine. When kids are small you tend to forget things like that. We should always try our best to find time for ourselves, recharge our inner batteries.
I work with a group of amazing women myself included. We are very dedicated and care for everyone and tend to place ourselves last. Thanks for sharing your inspirational post. We must care for our physical and mental well being.
This is very true and something my Mum made me realise recently, I was making myself ill doing everything for others and not looking after myself properly
That is so true! We need to set aside some me time to recharge from all the errands, appointments, and commitments. Taking some time to self-care is important for our physical and mental health.
It took me a long time to embrace the concept of self-care because I always felt guilty about spending time or resources on myself when there were others who needed my assistance. I knew I had to change my focus when I felt the first glimmer of resentment towards my family obligations and how much they felt like a weight on my shoulders.
For me, self care is close to being non-existent. I know I should take better care of myself and by not doing so, it has given me all sorts of illness. However, my current situation is akin to “caring for the needs of others at the expense of my own well-being.”
This is well-written. Even though we are all busy with family, career, and other stuff, we must really make time for ourselves too. This post makes me wanna take a day off and have a massage!
Self care is often times the most neglected aspect of a woman’s life and I am also guilty of it. Feeling so energised and motivated to do better with my time and thus, take better care of myself. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
A topic just in time! I’ll have to agree with you that indeed, self care is a conscious decision that we just have to make. And I feel like moms should try and have more time for themselves. They juggle between lots of work and forget about taking care of themselves. That’s why I love treating my mom out so that she can get time to unwind and embrace herself more.
I’ve met moms who’ve felt guilty because they take time for themselves. There’s nothing wrong with making time for you. It’s actually a blessing when you can 🙂
I am a regular reader of your blog. In fact, your words are my daily dose of positivity. I have felt weak and asked for help. I suffer from anxiety disorder and I have seen the worst of myself because of them. But I have learned that I have to fight my own battle and I can only do it if I remain positive. 🙂
Bit by bit I’ve been changing up my routine to incorporate me time into my day. Sometimes it’s as simple as putting on a face mask and taking a nap. It can be challenging working from home but it’s worth it for my peace of mind and overall wellbeing.
Definitely a great post and it’s reminding us that we should exert an effort to take a break, spending time and love to ourselves which is sometimes neglected by many of us.
Self-care is always the most important we need to do in our life. I’m not saying we need to be narcissistic but of course, before loving others we need to give importance to ourselves first.
Self-care is the bets love that we can give to our self, and a way of being grateful for the nature who give us life. When we care about ourselves, we learn to care about others.
It took me a long time to realize I needed to take care of myself. I wasn’t doing any good for others if I didn’t give my mind, body and spirit what it needed. I slowed down my go, go, go mentality. Life has been so much easier since I did that.
Self-care is very important! It is good for the mind, body and soul, I think everyone should take some time for themselves during the day to relax and unwind.
Self care is very important. Just like what is happening right now, it is important to boost each and everyones self esteem. We have to learn to take care of ourselves first so that we can take good care of other people too.
I think most people don’t know where to start when it comes to self care. We are all somehow subliminally taught to put others first and lose sight of taking care of ourselves.
Self care isn’t always as easy to do as we think. Firstly you need to allocate the time for this which can be the hardest part. The good thing is you’d don’t need much time.
It’s great you are getting involved and increasing awareness. It’s still not acceptable to have mental health issues in some peoples eyes and that has a negative affect on those they know that make suffer.
So true that we do need to take care of ourselves if we are to be of any use to helping those we love and care about. Mental health is obviously a key part of this and ensuring we are ok in this area is critical and linked also to our physical well being. Good post with including relevant quotes on this subject.
Self-care is so important. I always set some me time every day.
“You cannot share when you have an empty cup.” That is one of the best advises I’ve received this year and it aligns perfectly with what you’re preaching.

Wonderful read. Truly motivational! I realize that I have been so ignorant when it comes to Self-care. Thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately that’s true. Everyone deals w sone short of mental health issues no matter how big or small.
Thank you so much for this great blogpost. Really needed to read it and be reminded of taking better care of myself.
So true, we must take care of ourselves and give much needed “me time” to have a full cup and help others. Great read!
Self care is so important. I cant tell you how many years I neglected myself only to regret it later.
It makes a difference
It is a great thing to do during mental health awareness month, remember ourselves. Sometimes we get so busy we don’t take the time out we need for ourselves. Simply because we just don’t MAKE the time to.

Yep… keep it simple works.
So true, self care is so important. As for me, my self care is working out at least 2 hours a day and taking my daily supplements.
I really believe in self-care as a part of my happiness. I think it’s important to take care of myself especially when I’m feeling down. It makes me feel more love for myself and slowly being acceptance of who I am.

I believe mental health is so important! I know so many people that struggle with positive self care :/
Self care has become pretty big. It is extremely important to put time and space aside for yourself if you want to be successful.
This article is a great read about self care which many in the working class need.
Great post
Such a beautiful collage, you are so right about that. I always keep my beauty regimen on track and balanced diet as well.. That’s my self care.. 😊
Self-care is really important! Thanks for sharing some tips as a reminder!
what I’ve learned through the years is that by practicing self-care, we give ourselves a chance to step away and breathe, thus avoiding burnout.
I make sure to listen to ME and what I want before anyone else tells me what to do. I am in control of me, no one else. So if I feel as though I cannot do XYZ, well, then I won’t. And I own it.
Last year I really started taking care of my self-care. It’s so important. Why not take care of yourself on a Monday or every day!
I think self-esteem is a very fragile thing but you’re absolutely right that we should seek to maintain a healthy life balance. It’s far too easy to be dragged down by the trivia in our lives.
Self-care is definitely important for women. You need to be the bests versions of yourselves to be able to help others.
Self-care is such an important topic. I always need the reminder to take care of myself first.
It is so important to take care of ourselves since no one else does. Great read.
Another great article from you that I’m totaly agree with. Taking care of our mental health is as important as taking care of our physic.
May is Mental Health month and even so, it is nice to reminder us all to take time to take care of ourselves, mind, body and spirit every month. Thanks for the reminder in this jam-packed and relevant article.
I love it and you definitely speak my mind. It all starts with self care! First care for yourself and then for the others including your family.
Self care is truly very important. And it can be so much more so for those who suffer from mental illness. It is important to remind people suffer silently and we need to be there to support them.
I do believe that self-care is so important in once life. We should need to be healthy physically and mentally if we want to succeed in our goal.
We should care about ourselves first. I don’t think you can be good to other’s if you aren’t for yourself.
Self esteem is so important to maintain a healthy perspective in life. Thank you for these great reminders.
I agree! Self care is important to have a healthy and happy life.
Self esteem is key to ourselves as a whole. Some times we forget to take care of ourselves the way we often care for others.
Yes, self esteem is important. I am happy I haven’t lost it yet.
Self-care is crucial to talk about during mental health awareness month
I love Self-Care it helps me to therapy my physical , emotional and mental health. I have blog for this I hope you read my post 🙂
Self care is definitely important to have a more balanced life. Your post is as ever, inspiring.
Some great tips here. I want to start some of it next monday, a good start of the week is something that is necessary time to time.
This is great! Done new ways for me to self care!
Such a great topic. Many people even at my age, don’t have a self care routine. Work or business makes them really stressed that they prefer to make their self care a least priority.
I like this. I think I don’t practice enough self-care because of life’s busyness, but it’s so necessary. I need to make it more of a priority!
It may be Friday, but this post is so great to read! I needed the motivation today and these do the trick, thank you!
Very true self care is the key. It makes everything around me fall into place, it helps me mentally.
This is such a great article. Self-care is really important things we do. Your post is very motivates me.
This is important content. So many people think that the need for self care is a sign of weakness which means that they aren’t doing it and paying the price. Self care is so important and more people need to say so.
The pictures you added gave me such peace while reading. Such a calmness to your motivations. I appreciate the moments of serenity!
I didn’t know it was mental health awareness. I agree that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Nobody should feel ashamed if they need help.
Thanks for this post. Truly inspirational
I’ve been so busy with work that Im starting to forget to care for myself 🙁
Great reminder
Self care has been such a hot topic recently and I know how important it is. I try to set time aside every week for it.
Making sure we take care of ourselves is such a good reminder. We can’t pour into others from an empty cup.
Self care is so important. You can’t take care of anyone else, if you don’t take care of you! That’s why I started my “Treat Yourself Tuesday” blog post series. To remind others (and myself!) to take time for self care and love <3
I enjoyed reading this post. I think self-care is so underrated, and is something more of us should practice. An inspiring and relevant read.
I really loved this topic. I really love self care routine ideas. And I admire people who doesn’t forget their self care routines
My favorite part of this post is this quote: “Self-esteem is as important to our well-being as legs are to a table. It is essential for physical and mental health and for happiness.” Louise Hart
This is very encouraging! It is very important that everyone takes the time for self care!
I can’t agree more mental health should be our top most priority. A healthy mind makes healthy being. Self care shouldn’t be optional, it should be priority.
Mental Health is so important, but is so often overlooked. It is definitely something that people shouldn’t be ashamed to seek help for.
What a great post! So many great things can happen for your mental health when you focus on things like motivational monday.
I’ve been doing my best to add more self-care into my day. It definitely comes in handy.
I’m well into self-care and I take it anytime I feel I need to, even at work! We definitely need time to relax and unwind.
Taking care of oneself if very important as we can only then take of our loved ones.
Great reminder of the importance of self-care. I personally try to exercise or read for my ” me time”
it has been a long time since I visited our page. I felt like I missed a lot. I love this article – it talks about self care. I can relate.. I thought self care limits to self. I’m aware now that self care also involve caring for love ones..
Self-care is so important! Thanks for putting this together and highlighting the topic.
I think it so important to motivate each other! Thanks a lot for sharing all these Motivation Monday posts and especially for all the dates that will help me remember what is there to celebrate!
self care is so huge for me! I’ve got to make sure I do at least one thing for myself every day or I’m not where I really want to be.
Self care is really important especially to the working class, many of whom tend to lose love for oneself due to the multitude of stresses brought by life.
I love reading your motivation posts. Thank you for taking up this topic on self care. It’s so important but most women neglect it. I think we women need to be committed to ourselves first.
Oh I agree, mothers in particular. They are the ones who is too busy with work and household chores.
I wish people would remember that it is not a sign of weakness to help him out. People who need help need to reach out more.
Self care and self importance are really very important, when it comes to us.
Really motivating and eye opening.
Totally agree with your post. Self-care is very important. And its always better to ask for help than to suffer silently.
Very true self care and self esteem works together. I always enjoy reading your post, it makes me stay motivated.
My self care awareness level is still very low. I still tend to eat a lot and put work off for a later time. :0(
I definitely agree with you.
Great read. Thanks.
This is a reminder for myself too to always take care of ones self first before other so you can take care of them longer.
Self-care is important to mental health, we need to take time to think about our own well-being. Being able to have time to relax and destress is important.
I care myself in a way that I do things I can do, make sure everyday is as usual, and be happy always. Sometime I ignore what is unpleasant.
I totally hear you. I am embarking on a little self-care sabbatical of my own over the next few months. Really great post.
Self care is so important – thank you so much for sharing!
This is very important. Two very simple words but often neglected and taken for granted. Thank you for this reminder. I needed it today.
Mental heath is such a sensitive topic. I really appreciate this article!
Really nice article and thanks for the beautiful pictures.
I like Michelle Obama’s words on health care; it is increasingly important as we getting older. We are too busy with work and taking care of others, and it is easily to forget that we should take care of ourselves too.
Michelle Obama’s quote at the top is so true. We women need to pay more attention to our physical and mental health.
These suggestions seem like things that would make the world a better place. Everyone should slow down so they’re more focused in the end.
I love your last point especially. Feeling that asking for help is a sign of weakness is a very real problem that many have. I love that so many bloggers have taken it upon themselves to raise awareness.
Self care is so important. If we don’t take care of ourselves, how can we expect to take care of others!?
quality content article, I love everything ulu wrote about this, omplete agree with your points and im sure others will too
I loved reading your post!
Nothing in this world can torment us as much as our own thoughts. that’s why we need to be strong and confident as well
It’s very important to schedule ME time because nobody will schedule it for you. Rest, exercise, check up and enjoyable activities will help our self-esteem as well as our mental and personal health care needs.
Having self care is important. We can only share our care if we know how to do it in ourselves.
You are at it again I feel blessed when ever I read your post, I have come to know now that my“Self-esteem is as important to me as my well-being as legs are to a table. It is essential for physical and mental health and for happiness. I love this line thanks for this knowledge.
great post, self care is super important. Not only for other people but for ourselves too.
Self care is really important no matter how busy we are. We need a break too.
I always set at least an hour for self care time for myself. Its just so important to take care of ourselves especially if we live a hectic life.
You are right, self-care is a decision that is personal. I have neglected myself for a while now but it is time to get back to taking care of myself.
I am a firm believer in self care and all it’s benefits! I usually take one afternoon a week for self care because I work all damn hard!
Many of us really don’t put ourselves as priority on our to-do list. I know I don’t but thank you for this reminder!
self care is sooo easy to forget. we always think that we need to take care of matters around us first than ourselves, when we can’t function properly without ourselves being well first
Great motivation Monday post! It is deep and thoughtful and totally give me a lot to think about
This can’t be more true! As a busy working mom, taking care of my own wellness is essential.
Self-care is important nowadays for our lives Caring for yourself is an act of survival.
Self-care is so important and needs to be emphasized more. Mental and health are super important.
Is is so true what Michelle Obama says. Women have so much more things to do than men, they have to take care of the house, the children, have a career as well. It is hard to maintain a balanced relationship and find time for self care as well.
We should never underestimate the power of self-care. A lot of people take it for granted.
Completely agreed.
We always seem to ignore self-care.
Thanks for the wonderful post to remind us, what is important.
Loving yourself is really essential and self-care is needed for you to love others unconditionally too. Great article
I just posted an article myself on the importance of self-care! This is so important to healthy living!
thank you for the motivation, especially when it’s Monday it really felt a bit lazy to stand up coming from the weekend.
I love your blog. It is always so motivating! 🙂
Thanks for sharing.
With our hectic lifestyle, it is very important to take time out for self-care.
Self care is super important for sure. sometimes it is about finding the time to give some me time xx
Selfcare is so essential. Especially with what is going on in the world, we need to find time for ourselves.
Self care is really important especially what’s happening now in the world.
Loving our self is the most important thing that we should consider.
self care is everything and so many things at once! i truly enjoy it and at least try to make myself enjoy the most
Self care is most important that human can do and we need to practice it everyday. Great post!
Sometimes it can be important to recognise when we need professional help and actively get it.
Love all this motivational posts, thanks for sharing.
Self-care is so important. Keeping yourself in check is a must.
Beautiful quote, we need to lean to take care of ourselves.
there are so many options of self care! Self care is the key. if you don’t care and love yourself how can be good and caring to others.
Beautiful motivational phrases about mental health is what it takes to become aware of the topic
It’s great you are getting involved and increasing awareness. It’s still not acceptable to have mental health issues in some peoples eyes and that has a negative affect on those they know that make suffer.
My way of self care is enjoying 30mins of my favorite doodling me time to reenergize myself 🙂
I love reading your post because it gave me the right motivation, thanks for sharing. For me self care is important. – Amalia
So true that we do need to take care of ourselves if we are to be of any use to helping those we love and care about. Mental health is obviously a key part of this and ensuring we are ok in this area is critical and linked also to our physical well being. Good post with including relevant quotes on this subject.
I love all your motivational messages. We need this everyday. Thanks for sharing.
First of all, we should always take care of ourselves. It’s important to love ourselves and that will help us to help others.
I agree, self-care is very important for our health. It’s something we should be improving an focusing on more.
