Motivation Mondays: Tips For June
Tips For June:– June is the first month of the summer season and a great time to revisit the goals we set for the year. It is also the perfect season to start that exercise routine we skipped and get ready for all the wonderful colors and trips summer can bring. June always puts a smile on my face because it reminds me of the warm and colorful blooms to come after months of freezing temperatures, snowfall, and minimal color in nature. As the wildlife around me start to come out of hibernation, and the shoots from perennials planted many seasons ago poke their heads to the top of the soil, I breathe a sigh of relief and thank my Creator for the return of life. Yes, it is an experience worthy of comment, especially if you have lived through a terrible winter season. Come back later for a few tips to help you enjoy the month and beyond.
A Memory Of June Claude McKay
When June comes dancing o’er the death of May,
With scarlet roses tinting her green breast,
And mating thrushes ushering in her day,
And Earth on tiptoe for her golden guest,
I always see the evening when we met–
The first of June baptized in tender rain–
And walked home through the wide streets, gleaming wet,
Arms locked, our warm flesh pulsing with love’s pain.
I always see the cheerful little room,
And in the corner, fresh and white, the bed,
Sweet scented with a delicate perfume,
Wherein for one night only we were wed;
Where in the starlit stillness we lay mute,
And heard the whispering showers all night long,
And your brown burning body was a lute
Whereon my passion played his fevered song.
When June comes dancing o’er the death of May,
With scarlet roses staining her fair feet,
My soul takes leave of me to sing all day
A love so fugitive and so complete. via poemhunter.com

There Is A June When Corn Is Cut by Emily Dickinson
There is a June when Corn is cut
And Roses in the Seed—
A Summer briefer than the first
But tenderer indeed
As should a Face supposed the Grave’s
Emerge a single Noon
In the Vermilion that it wore
Affect us, and return—
Two Seasons, it is said, exist—
The Summer of the Just,
And this of Ours, diversified
With Prospect, and with Frost—
May not our Second with its First
So infinite compare
That We but recollect the one
The other to prefer? via poemhunter.com

Tips For June: – Stay informed and catch up on facts and figures. Did you know that June is also the month we celebrate Juneteenth Day? Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day and Liberation Day, is a holiday celebrated on 19 June to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation. June Thunder by Louis Macneice via poemhunter.com
The Junes were free and full, driving through tiny
Roads, the mudguards brushing the cowparsley,
Through fields of mustard and under boldly embattled
Mays and chestnuts
Or between beeches verdurous and voluptuous
Or where broom and gorse beflagged the chalkland–
All the flare and gusto of the unenduring
Joys of a season
Now returned but I note as more appropriate
To the maturer mood impending thunder
With an indigo sky and the garden hushed except for
The treetops moving.
Then the curtains in my room blow suddenly inward,
The shrubbery rustles, birds fly heavily homeward,
The white flowers fade to nothing on the trees and rain comes
Down like a dropscene.
Now there comes catharsis, the cleansing downpour
Breaking the blossoms of our overdated fancies
Our old sentimentality and whimsicality
Loves of the morning.
Blackness at half-past eight, the night’s precursor,
Clouds like falling masonry and lightning’s lavish
Annunciation, the sword of the mad archangel
Flashed from the scabbard.
If only you would come and dare the crystal
Rampart of the rain and the bottomless moat of thunder,
If only now you would come I should be happy
Now if now only.

I can’t believe that it’s already midyear. It’s crazy how time flies. I’m glad though that for most of the things that I need to accomplish, I have been doing pretty well.
June is the first month of a summer break and it is so nice to spend this days with more time, activities and adventures with our loved ones and friends. Aside from that I also consider this month as a perfect time for me to revisit my 2019 goals.
Such beautiful pictures and poetry (one can never go wrong with an Emily Dickinson poem). I love the idea of reevaluating goals and making time for some reflection and gratitude in June, especially as it marks the halfway point of the year.
My fave month of the year is June. It’s also my birth month, June 19 to be exact. I wishing you all a happy June. Hopefully it will be a great month for everyone.
I think June is the perfect time to reflect on the past months of the current year. We are halfway done with 2019 and what have we accomplished so far? I need to re-assess my life goals today. This post is a great reminder.
I love the month of June. Here in the Northeast, the cold weather tends to hang around longer than most places, so, when June arrives, it signals the beginning of warmer temperatures and more time outside.
I know for myself I need to revisit my goals for 2019, especially since the year is halfway over. I can honestly say that I’m pretty proud of myself, I’ve accomplished some of my goals and so it’s time to set new ones. There is still a lot I want to accomplish and I’m definitely grateful for the all the amazing things that have occurred.
I love the month of June. My oldest’s birthday is today, so it has always been a month of celebrating him. Plus, it’s summer and we love summer days together when they aren’t in school and we can go to the pool and vacation.
the year is halfway over and this is where people panic about hitting goals…but its also an opportunity to keep going or to start over if you made a mistake…
We are already in our halfway of this year. Let us start our June with positivity. Thank you for sharing these wonderful tips to make our month even better.

June is defintiely a pause month for me where i reflect on the things ive done in the past 6 months. And a month of restrategizing to make my rest of the year productive.
June is spring time and it’s the time to restart again with your goals. It’s fun to see the beauty of the nature blooms while you also grow as human being.
I would need to revisit my goals for the year. It’s already mid-year and I have not cross checked most of them yet. Time to so that I get get more done and be more productive even as we approach the second half.

I love this post and I can really say time flies so fast. Summer break is already here it means no need to wake up early to prepare things for kids going to the school. Aside from that I will be having a lot of time spending time with them and also a lot of time for myself and time to revisit my 2019 goals.
Gratitude is such an important thing in life. Finding things to be gratified for is important. And taking time to smell the flowers and appreciate the small things is also very important for a reboot.

In our workplace, June is the last month of our fiscal year. It’s a great time to allow yourself to create things you might not normally create — or make progress in directions you wouldn’t otherwise prioritize. Next month will be another year for us, New chance and new projects to work for.
I’m hoping my June will start seeing glimpses of summer soon. Rain and cold so far but us Brits never give up hope. While I wait for the birds and the sun to return I’ll indulge in some wine and cheese as per M. F. K. Fisher!
In my part of the world, the month of June ushers in the rainy season. I am excited to hear the raindrops again and to see the plants come alive after a long, hot and dry summer. June makes me reflect on the first half of the year that has passed by so quickly. I have come to know that I am off-track again, healthwise, but I will do my best to be healthier towards the end of this year.
I love summer and making the most of these beautiful days! The end of the school year is so crazy and then there is some relief in summertime from the busy school year schedule.

June is my favorite month of the year. I am a big fan of ushering in summer, and of celebrating a loved one who has a birthday right now too! You’re right about revisiting goals and exercise as well. What better time to make sure goals are up and going than mid-year!!
Beautiful and uplifting messages, thank you for sharing this!
Those are very touching poems about June, especially the one by Emily Dickinson. Reading your articles always leaves me feeling motivated and grateful.
Ahh, yes! It’s time to revisit goals for this year and assess if I’ve reached any or I will need to set new ones.
I love the poem We Real Cool! I heard it for the first time in my 11th grade English class
We can take time to smell the flowers in June, yes. I need to do that and its something I would love to do. I been working way too hard this year.
I love summer! These are some great stories and poems about this glorious season!
This is so wonderful, June is really a fabulous month to enjoy. I am loving the change in weather here in NH.
We all need to take time and appreciate this beautiful earth we live in. We take it for granted and abuse it. We need to be more considerate.
This are definitely great tips for June but also for the year. Would always have this at hand.
Great writeup and I love the poem.
I love summer and making the most of these beautiful days! The end of the school year is so crazy and then there is some relief in summertime from the busy school year schedule.
What a beautiful poem that was. June has been a real wash out over here in the UK and I am struggling with my mental health as a result. I suffer with SAD so need all the inspiration I can get – thank you!
I love June myself! It feels so cheery and light, not too hot and not cold. The days are longer and I feel happier. 🙂
Love the collection of poems that you have here.
Thank you for the reminders and tips! Love the poem by Louis Macneice that you shared. It’s really beautiful.

June is my birth month and I love being a summer child. As the middle of the year, June is a great month indeed to rethink about the plans we’ve made in January.
Love the use of poetry to inspire motivation; I’m a big fan of Brooks and Dickinson! And poetry is just an overlooked genre so I love how your selections reflect renewal and fresh starts of the summer season.
Great photos. It made me kinda miss spring in Japan.
I love the poems so beautifully written and bear such an important message. June was a great month for me and I hope August will be as well
The brightness of summer really brings so much smiles to many. For some, it’s always time for adventure and exploring the outdoors; and even exercising. I love that you’ve mentioned about revisiting our goals for the year.
June here in Australia is the beginning of winter (totally opposite!). It is my first time to experience winter, and you couldn’t blame me if I go crazy for winter fashion now 🙂
