Motivation Mondays: 45 Inspiring Quotes from U.S. Presidents #PresidentsDay
Happy Presidents’ Day! The office of the President of the United States of America (POTUS) is a very powerful position globally. As leader of the most powerful, and, some might add, only remaining superpower, the authority invested in the position requires wisdom and a measured tone. If you are wondering about the origins of this special federal holiday and why it is called Presidents Day, I’m here to help you with a brief history. First of all, it was a special day to honor the birthday of our first president – George Washington Over time, it evolved to become a celebration in honor of two of America’s greatest Presidents; George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. In 1968, the 90th Congress voted to shift three federal holidays, including George Washington’s Birthday to the 3rd Monday of February. This move led to the creation of a new holiday – Presidents’ Day. There was resistance and many objections were raised but eventually it became law in 1971. The correct way to write it is Presidents’ Day NOT President’s Day because we honor more than one former leader of these United States on this special day. Got it?
1. George Washington (1789–1797)
“Labor to keep alive in your breast that little spark of celestial fire, called conscience.”

“The circulation of confidence is better than the circulation of money.”
5. James Monroe (1817–1825)

7. Andrew Jackson (1829–1837)
“Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.”
8. Martin Van Buren (1837–1841)

9. William Henry Harrison (1841)
“I contend that the strongest of all governments is that which is most free.”
10. John Tyler (1841–1845)
“The applause of his native land is the richest reward to which the patriot ever aspires. It is this for which ‘he bears to live or dares to die.’ It is the high incentive to those achievements which illustrate the page of history and give to poetry its brightest charm.”
11. James K. Polk (1845–1849)
“No president who performs his duties faithfully and conscientiously can have any leisure.”
12. Zachary Taylor (1849–1850)

Motivation Mondays: 45 Inspiring Quotes from U.S. Presidents
Every year, I think of a way to honor the leaders of this nation and to help readers learn a bit more about their legacy. Whether we choose to celebrate it or not, we can learn something from the wisdom shared in the quotes. I’ve included links to their Wiki pages and also the length of time they served in the presidency. Please read them and let me know which one is your favorite from the bunch. I have a few that I love too but, I’d wait to hear your response.

22. Grover Cleveland (1885–1889)
A government for the people must depend for its success on the intelligence, the morality, the justice, and the interest of the people themselves.”
23. Benjamin Harrison (1889–1893)
“The bud of victory is always in the truth.”
24. Grover Cleveland (1893–1897)

Motivation Mondays: 45 Inspiring Quotes from U.S. Presidents. #PresidentsDay
As I put together material for this post, I was reminded again how each president contributed his part to sustain this democratic nation. I also marvel at the fact that we have not had a female president in this nation. I pray to see us elect one in my lifetime. I believe we are all capable of serving and giving our best when called up to the task. We must first believe we are worthy of the office, and then take the action to help us prepare, campaign and then lead.
25. William McKinley (1897–1901)
That’s all a man can hope for during his lifetime – to set an example – and when he is dead, to be an inspiration for history.”
26. Theodore Roosevelt(1901–1909)
“Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
27. William Howard Taft (1909–1913)
“Don’t write so that you can be understood, write so that you can’t be misunderstood.”
28. Woodrow Wilson (1913–1921)
“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”
29. Warren G. Harding (1921–1923)
“There’s good in everybody. Boost. Don’t knock.”
30. Calvin Coolidge (1923–1929)
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
31. Herbert Hoover (1929–1933)
“Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity.”
32. Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933–1945)
“There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still.”
33. Harry S. Truman (1945–1953)
“A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties.”
34. Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953–1961)
“Motivation is the art of getting people to do what you want them to do because they want to do it.”
35. John F. Kennedy (1961–1963)
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
36. Lyndon B. Johnson (1963–1969)
“Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.”

Motivation Mondays: 45 Inspiring Quotes from U.S. Presidents. #PresidentsDay
What are your thoughts on the Presidency? Did you find a quote that resonated with you and your beliefs about the office? I chose this quote as one that I believe all leaders around the globe must have front and center during their tenure in office: “Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.” by President Andrew Jackson. To lead, it is imperative that we admit when we are in error. No leader is above error. I hope you enjoyed the selection of quotes from our past and present leaders of the highest office in the USA. Now let me ask you a few questions: Who was the oldest President in office? Who was the youngest? Which Presidents served more than one term in office? Leave your comments in the box and I’ll respond with an update. Thank you!
37. Richard M. Nixon (1969-1974)
“Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.”
38. Gerald R. Ford (1974–1977)
“History and experience tell us that moral progress comes not in comfortable and complacent times, but out of trial and confusion.”
39. Jimmy Carter (1977–1981)
“We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.”
40. Ronald Reagan (1981–1989)
“There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder.”
41. George H.W. Bush (1989–1993)
“We are a nation of communities… a brilliant diversity spread like stars, like a thousand points of light in a broad and peaceful sky.”
42. Bill Clinton (1993–2001)
“If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. It’s how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.”
43. George W. Bush (2001–2009)
“Faith crosses every border and touches every heart in every nation.”
44. Barack Obama (2009–2017)
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
45. Donald Trump (2017–present)
“Part of being a winner is knowing when enough is enough. Sometimes you have to give up the fight and walk away, and move on to something that’s more productive.”

Awesome list of quotes!
Never judge a stranger by his clothes is one of my favourites
Debs
These are all meaningful quotes and words of wisdom from the former presidents. I agree with most of them and I appreciate the deeper sense of thought from Martin Van Buren.
A great set of historical quotes. I live in the UK so my American history knowledge is not that great.
This is a great post to ponder. I love those quotes. It shows how we are being formed in our daily living.
Those were really great quotes from our Dear presidents. How inspiring they are. This is something I need to remember every single day!
I wonder whose line is the most popular among all of these.. Yet most of them are truly inspiring! Thank you for this especially for Mondays! Haha
Love this collection of quotes! And there’s one for every president – Trump included! 🙂
Wow, what a collection of quotes. I think Abraham Lincoln is my favorite president, but we have definitely had several good ones.
Very amazing quotes! Thanks for sharing!
This list is a collector’s item. Thanks for putting it together.
The US has had many inspiring presidents over the years. It’s nice to see that there’s still hope for the country’s future, too.
What an awesome post!! I love that you took the time to find some really great quotes to share with us – I will have to remember some of these.
Such a great collection of quotes from such memorable people!
I love the quotes especially taking time to deliberate as I do feel people now rush into things without thinking only to regret later.
Having said that, there is also no point in deliberating too long, think then act as you find fit.
I think the one that speaks to me personally is:
7. Andrew Jackson (1829–1837)
“Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.”
I feel I could use this advice. I am always overthinking and then find myself with missed opportunities. Take a chance 🙂
#12 is so important, not just just on clothing but everything in general. Some of the sweetest people I know are big burly guys with lots of tattoos. What’s the saying, it’s what on the inside that matters most. Thank you for some great quotes to live by.
“Never judge a stranger by his clothes.” This resonates so very well with me. In our current society, people are so quick to judge and slap a label on anyone who does not conform to their standards. Clothes do not make the man. Character does.
I highly appreciate Zachary Taylor’s quote. 🙂
wow that’s amazing list! Every quote is insipirational in one way or another, but I really think that “The circulation of confidence is better than the circulation of money.” 🙂
Love the one from Barrack Obama – we are the change we seek. My grandpa always quotes the one from John Adams 🙂
Thank you for sharing all these quotes from past presidents
What an awesome way to honor the presidents of our country. I find it most interesting to read some of the earliest ones, and the most recent that I have known in my lifetime.
This is a really great resource for President’s day! I especially love all the quotes!
Great roundup of motivation quotes ! Mondays can be tough.
Elizabeth | Tired Mom Supermom
Thanks for this article. Loved the quotes. I am blessed to live in this beautiful, free country. God bless my United States of America 🇺🇸
It’s so important to know and honor history. The Obama quote you chose is my favorite from him!
I love this!! It’s wonderful to read words from both the infamous to the obscure.
Super motivational and inspiring. It is so important that we reflect on presidents day.
Zachery Taylor’s quote is my favorite – because it’s so true and um, I am the one you shouldn’t judge based on what I am wearing, LOL!
I love that quote from Fraklin Pierce. We may be in the same continent or even just in the same room.We may same goals. But are ways of reaching it will always be an argument.
James Madison quote for me. Circulation of confidence is better than the circulation of money. So cool.
Great compilation of quotes … great leaders and their thoughts drive the country and sets an example.
Zachary Taylor is just so right, never judge him or her by their clothes. You’ll never know, they might have a brain like a president.
I like John Adams’s quote! What is your favourite? It’s interesting to think how they came up with these!
I love a lot of these quotes. But, ironically, Trump’s quote speaks right now as I am dealing with a lot of downs in my life. I want to call out what stresses me out and say enough is enough.
Such a great quote, and very true but also can be said for women as well with a bit of power
it is a great list and a very interesting way to teach history as well from another point of view, as mans quotes says so much about their characters
Love this compilation! I especially liked #7 – “Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.” – it’s so easy to just get stuck in the thinking & planning phase (at least for me!)
You just took me into a time warp of presidential history with each of there quotes. Some i heard of and some i havent.
I love reading their quotes, such wise men. These can apply to everyday life not just politics.
These were some very amazing quotes. Thank you for sharing!
Sigh. I struggle. I’m find celebrating 44 of the 45. But I really with 45 would take his own advice and walk away.
Your site is always my source of inspiration. I so much enjoy reading from you. Thanks so much
They all spoken very well and I enjoy the quotes, they are so challenging and supporting
#12 is my favourite! SO true!
Thank you for putting the awesome quotes. My favorite quote is the one that says “If you want to test a man’s character, give him power” This statement is so true especially African countries that have very powerful leaders.
that is for sure!
Harding’s quote can be applied to today – we’re so quick to knock down, but not see the good in people So much wisdom from these Presidents. Some were not the best people but they can’t be written off completely as evil.
For meg Barack Obama is quite an inspiring person and politician, so as his wife, I have red a lot about their life.🙂
I love reading and compiling inspiring and motivational quotes from famous people. I sometimes saved it on my journal. Thank you so much!
Enjoyed reading the quotes. So much truth in them.
I never knew the back story of President day. Thanks for sharing I definitely learned something new.
Omg. Its so amazing to read them all. So inspirational when it comes from such great leaders.
It’s nice to read something inspiring from a US president, given your current one! I enjoyed reading this list of quotes.
The quotes are definitely motivating! Keeps me going and much! I really like it! I am not from US so learning more about the presidents is also very educational even though through the quotes.
This is great. I think it is not only important to remember our Presidents of the past, but something they said that was impactful…that is great!
Too bad #45 isn’t a winner by his own definition. The USA would be a lot better off. That said, great list of quotes from each of the 45 POTUS.
John Adams (1797–1801)
“Old minds are like old horses; you must exercise them if you wish to keep them in working order.”
My grandfather was fond of this saying and I always wondered where this quote came from.
I love Obama’a quote because I love everything Obama. All other qoutes are great and good reminders of one’s purpose in life. I’ll mediate on them.
These are all very inspirational quotes. these to tend to stick out to me today. “Never judge a stranger by his clothes. and “Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose stand out to me the most”. Thank you for sharing.
I love Abraham Lincoln’s quotes. They are so true. You never know a man until he is in a powerful position.
Wow, absolutely inspiring quotes. I’ve always love these quotes.
Great quotes from previous presidents. I like James Monroe quote.
Let’s see – Reagan was oldest and Kennedy was youngest, right? And of course while there are several presidents who served 2 terms, FDR was the only one to do more than that, and Cleveland was the only to do that with a break in between! #historygeek
GOOD JOB!Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest… yes
I think you did a great job honor our previous Presidents on their day. We may disagree about who should be running the office but they hold their position and should still be acknowledged
Thanks for the quotes from these presidents. Would love to know more about their stances on race relations in this country.
“Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.” Beautiful and motivating quote. I have always believed in this. This is an inspirational compilation of quotes
These are amazing! Some of these presidents are visionary and owed all respect. Great post.
Chad
Number 36 is definitely my fav – Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose. Very motivational 🙂
Really fantastic article. I love reading each quote. The quote by Andrew Jackson that you wrote about is so true. All men and women make mistakes or errors in judgment. It is important for us to remember that the presidents have, inspite of their errors, been great leaders.
Loved number 44 quote! It is so beneficial to remember.
37. Richard M. Nixon (1969-1974)
“Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.”
I’ve heard that quote before, and its truth resonates with me. I didn’t realise it was Nixon that originally spoke the words.
I loved the Obama quote, I needed that today. Change starts with me, it would be a waste of time to wait on someone else to change the outcome of whatever issues I face. That is what I got from Obama’s quote. Thanks for sharing.
These are all really great quotes. It doesn’t matter what political party you belong to, all of these men have done something really great for our country!
Such a great post into the history of Presidents Day. Also appreciated the recap into all our Presidents – had forgotten so many of them!
I love Carter’s quite about not being a melting pot, but being a beautiful mosaic instead.❤
“Conscience is the authentic voice of God to you” – Rutherford B. Hayes and of course, barack Obama – “…we are the change that we seek”. They all have great quotes that we can apply to ourselves and situations.
“Never judge a stranger by his looks!” I love this!
THANK YOU NINA!
Those are really beautiful Presidents quotes some of them inspires you and some of them gives you a motivations to do your best to be a better leader or a person.
” Zachary Taylor (1849–1850)
“Never judge a stranger by his clothes.”
Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing”
Abraham Lincoln “
I always love quotes, this one is my fav: 10. John Tyler (1841–1845)
“The applause of his native land is the richest reward to which the patriot ever aspires. It is this for which ‘he bears to live or dares to die.’ It is the high incentive to those achievements which illustrate the page of history and give to poetry its brightest charm.”
Very inspiring quotes from our heroes. They are truly an inspiration to us. This only shows how they love their country.
Ou rpresidents are truly an inpisration to everyone. I just love and admire all of them. I like the one form John F. Kennedy.
Presidents would have the wisest words! I particularly like Bill Clinton’s quote. It’s realistic and still hopeful.
I like President Garfield’s quote about the wrinkles not touching our hearts, even if they touch our brows. It’s easy to stay young, if you think and feel young, but it’s better in some ways than being young, because you’re a wee bit wiser in different ways.
I always include quotes to end off my blog posts and you provide so many good ones!
Amazing collection of inspiring quotes, and even Donald Trump has one. 🙂
Never judge a stranger by his clothes, This one is so important and so true to this day.
“A little flattery will support a man through great fatigue” is something I really agree with. Let’s always try to be as kind as possible, let’s exaggerate with it! You can never know how helpful this can be in hidden daily struggles.
Wow that’s an amazing list of daily dose of motivation. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful post.
Thanks for posting the positive quotes.
Loved it 🙂
I personally like the Bill Clinton quote about making mistakes but learning from them – I feel like we forget that sometimes and it’s nice to be reminded that mistakes are okay as long as we learn from them.
This was an excellent an inspiring read. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you.
Wow what a comprehensive list!! Always cool to see quotes from different leaders.
44 will be my all time favorite!
There are a lot of really great and inspirational quotes on here! Thanks for sharing this list with all of us.
Loved reading through these! So motivational and inspirational. I really liked 36. Lyndon B. Johnson (1963–1969)
“Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.”
Reminds that each day is a chance to start over!
This must have taken so much time to put together, as there are so many wonderful choices are so many presidents! I really liked hearing which quote you picked for some of the more famous ones.
Because I live in the UK I don’t know much about the US presidents or about the political system over the pond. So thank you for this post, there are so many inspiring quotes in it. When you think of politicians inspiring is not what really comes to mind first.
Wonderful post and very inspiring. It is very beautiful to honor the history and the people that left something amazing behind.
This is a great collection of quotes! Though I don’t agree with the policies and politics of every President, each has said some profound things…or their speechwriters have. 😉
I’ve 3 favourites here (quotes) that I can connect with. First is by George Washington about being alone better than in bad company. Thomas Jefferson on mental attitude sounds so relevant even today. But, for me the best is by Barack Obama on Change…absolutely love it.

There is a lot of wisdom in this batch of presidential quotes. I especially like Andrew Jackson’s advice on action (and my bad habit of overthinking).
All these quotes are really good. Out of them i love Zackary Taylor’s quote “Never judge a stranger by his clothes”.
Wow, impressive… You’ve really done your homework to get a quote from every President! Many are very inspiring and true!
So many great quotes! SO many great Presidents. But not all sadly!
One of my favorite quotes is the one you posted said by Richard Nixon:
“Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.”
Great post! I’m such a history nerd and loved reading these quotes!

Lyndon Johnson quotes is the one i truly need right now and will need forever. So funny. As I regret too much when I had the wrong decisions.
Wow this superb! Here is my favorite of them: “Never judge a stranger by his clothes.”
Great compilation
Lots of wisdom to be found here, hard to choose but number 38 resonates with me.
Ha!I hear you… it was hard to choose too.
These are great character building quotes. Like you, I look forward when a female president’s name will be among the great leaders of our nation. President Obama’s quote “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek” has always inspired me and it continues to.
This is exactly and precisely what I need atm. Thank you
Great to learn about powerful history behind Presidents’ Day in United States.
Teddy Roosevelt’s quote is something to ponder upon.
I’m a sucker for a motivational quote so I love this post. So many words of wisdom but 29 is my favourite I think x x
These are all inspiring quotes. I love this one by Barack Obama the most “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
These motivational quotes show us that even if we don’t agree with the person, they still didn’t become what they have become over night, a lot of them had to sacrifice a lot to get where they were, and that is true, success doesn’t come to those who are waiting for it, you need to grab it by the horns and make it yours.
I honestly didn’t know a thing about Presidents’ day, so this was fascinating to discover the reasoning behind it. Also glad you talked about the apostrophe
I love how complete your posts are…there is so much information and the way you lay it out makes it so easy to read. Love the quotes the most….Im a quote person.

This is the second time I read this post and I swear it never gets old! Every time I read, every time I get inspired and pick a new quote for a week
So many great quotes! Thanks for sharing this piece of history.
My confidence has suffered a major setback. I need this quote a lot, “The circulation of confidence is better than the circulation of money.”
I think George W. Buch’s quote, “Faith crosses every border and touches every heart in every nation.” is my favorite. It’s true, most people have faith in common, even if they don’t share the same religion or spiritual beliefs.
This is my pick for today, ““Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.” Love all your choice of quotes!
Great post, They are all really inspiring.. Never new most of those quotes are credited to those people..
“Faith crosses every border and touches every heart in every nation.”
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
“Part of being a winner is knowing when enough is enough. Sometimes you have to give up the fight and walk away, and move on to something that’s more productive.”
Love those the most.
Their quotes are really inspiring but this is my favorite quote
“Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” from Theodore Roosevelt simple but meaningful for me.
Nice list of quotes. Loves most of the American Presidents. Thanks for motivating me and making this Sunday wonderful.
I have always been a great fan of quotes. I love the one by Zachary Taylor
“Never judge a stranger by his clothes.” How someone dresses doesn’t always shows how the person really is from the inside.

My favorite is the 39th one by Jimmy Carter
“We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.”
Thanks for sharing.
Interesting article on the United States presidents in.
#19 was one of my favorites! Great post
These are all very inspiring quotes from great leaders! So many of them had two terms and President Roosevelt had the longest presidency! 3 terms! Must have been exhausting to run the country for 12 years, and to complicate the task with having to deal with World War II.
Quite a challenge.
I love the Bill Clinton quote you chose! Never ever quit is right!
The United States is a great country because it has great leaders. These words from them are truly inspiring and stir a deep love for the motherland.
I’ve never been to the US, but many of my favourite quotes are from US former Presidents!!
I love these. The quote from Obama can be used with anyone as most are afraid of change.
These quotes are so inspiring and motivating. Loved reading all of them
Wow! You have an awesome list of quotes. These are such great words of wisdom from the most powerful people in the world.
Wow, I haven’t realised you had so many presidents so far! Great quotes anyway 😉
These quotes were really interesting to read. I didn’t realise there was such thing as President’s Day, probably as I’m from the UK.
Ami xxx
The quote by Zachary Taylor resonated with me the most – “Never judge a stranger by his clothes”. Nowadays, people are quick to judge and stereotype. Sometimes we do it unconsciously and group certain people. When I used to work as a flight attendant, we “profile” passengers based on how they talk, how they move, how they dress, and how they behave. There’s a thin line between profiling and judging or stereotyping. We can anticipate who will drink a lot, or who can assist us in time of emergency, or who will complain a lot. We already knew which flight is peaceful, and which one can be demanding. A thin line that can easily be crossed. That’s why that quote reminds us to be humble and always treat each other with respect.
True. One of my best friends is a fLight attendant and she’d say the same.
That was so amazing! So inspiring and I can’t believe that you get these all! I really love and enjoy your post.
I totally agree with Andrew Jackson. It is very important that when both think and act on things. We can’t just keep analyzing stuff but instead we think about it then later do something about it.
love this page, Love all the quotes. They certainly said it the best.
These are some very inspiring quotes. I love to see people that were in charge of this nation and what they really brought forth to the table.
Not being from your country but your neighbor from the north we learn some on your history and the accomplishments of your leaders. Washington and Lincoln are a couple of my favourite, they deserve the recognition.
This post is really informative! I enjoyed reading these inspiring and timeless
Thomas Jefferson could not be more right, ““Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” It all boils down with attitude!
“A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties.” this is by far my favorite. Nice collection, thank you for sharing!
It’s good to fall back to these quotes, they were made by powerful people who lead their country during some hard times, and we need to remember not one of them got where he was overnight, it was a long journey filled with sacrifice.
Great thoughts make great leaders,.. no doubt why they were the leaders with their inspiring life.
This for sharing this motivational quotes. We really need this especially this one,
“Gratitude, warm, sincere, intense, when it takes possession of the bosom, fills the soul to overflowing and scarce leaves room for any other sentiment or thought.”
My all time favorite US President would be Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. However, if I were to pick one favorite quote it will be – “Never judge a stranger by his clothes.” This is applicable in many walks of life. One should not undermine nor be biased because a person’s appearance is not really the true test of character.
I always love reading through quotes like these..
What a great list you have here! We can all use a little motivation once in a while. I really liked 26. Theodore Roosevelt(1901–1909)
“Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
Passion is a driving force, when you really care about something, it shows.
How fun! I love a good inspirational quote and love that you have a holiday theme for these!
What a great way to celebrate Presidents Day! I love that you included inspiring quotes from everyone!
Thought provoking to see what ideals they hold in highest regard.
I love the Barack Obama quote, but I may be biased because I love Obama too much and miss him 🙁
I really love the William Henry Harrison Quote. Freedom is such an important thing. I feel badly he didn’t live long after inaugurated to do much about it.
These historical quotes are really amazing. Thanks for sharing this post.
So many good quotes here! This one is my favorite: Zachary Taylor (1849–1850) “Never judge a stranger by his clothes.” SO TRUE!

What a great set of quotes! Especially from people who became the most important people in American history!
“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Abraham Lincoln. This is so true! Power corrupts!
This is such a really great and inspiring post. Perfect read for daily motivation.
Great quotes! Thanks for sharing! My favorite is “Old minds are like old horses; you must exercise them if you wish to keep them in working order”, it’s so true 😅
So much power in a person and we’ve seen how our choice of president had greatly impacted our lives during the recent years. In the philippines, we have our upcoming election and I hope that Leni robredo wins the presidency and saves us all. Huhu
