Motivation Mondays: Enjoyment of Life
“True happiness arises, in the first place, from the enjoyment of one’s self, and in the next, from the friendship and conversation of a few select companions.” Joseph Addison

Motivation Mondays: Enjoyment of Life
Enjoyment is an incredible energizer to the human spirit. John C. Maxwell
Without the element of enjoyment, it is not worth trying to excel at anything. Magnus Carlsen
It is not knowledge, but the act of learning, not possession but the act of getting there, which grants the greatest enjoyment. Carl Friedrich Gauss
Enjoyment of Life: What does Enjoyment of Life mean to you? HAPPY HOLIDAYS! HAPPY HANUKKAH! MERRY CHRISTMAS/KWANZAA! The holiday season is in full swing and, as stores extend their cyber sales into a prolonged invitation to shop till we drop, we are feeding the frenzy with new toys. Are you enjoying the process? Are you enjoying your life? When my Pastor asked that question recently, it stopped us in our tracks. We had just watched a snippet of ELF; the popular 2003 fantasy comedy film in which Buddy (Will Ferrell), a super happy Santa elf, returns home to reconnect with his dad. Buddy’s sense of wonder and childlike innocence touches us all because he reminds us that a fundamental goal of life should be to enjoy it while we are here on earth. When was the last time you had the pure pleasure of doing something fun and free for yourself? When was the last time you had a good old deep in the belly laugh out loud moment? When did you last put on some music and shake your booty? or Enjoy a guilt free decadent dessert?
What does Enjoyment of Life mean to me? For the last 5-6 years, I battled an autoimmune condition that left me ravaged and feeling down and out. At the start of 2018, I decided it was time to snatch my life back and make a commitment to enjoy my life. You see, I had spent the last several years waiting to feel perfectly healthy and perfectly ready to get back into the things I enjoyed but, life is not about perfection. Life is about being present and enjoying the here and NOW. So, I joined Orange Theory gym and kicked the extra weight to the curb. I made a commitment to be more grateful for my work and to get out more. I started going to concerts because I’ve always had a love for dance and music and it opened a world of joy inside of me. Once I tapped into that joy, more of my interests resurfaced and life took on a much more joyful resonance. Did challenges appear? Of course, but my enjoyment quotient was up so my attitude was much better too.
As the year wraps, I can see the good that has come from my effort, and I know there is room for more improvements. We are all a work in progress but, we have to move our feet to get from point A to point B. We are here on this planet to accomplish goals and dreams, to serve humanity, and to have a good time too. When we create joyful outlets in our lives, we are more inclined to want it for others and our enjoyment of life keeps us healthy and in good spirits. What joyful pleasure have you given yourself today? this year? planned for this month? We are in the final throes of 2018, and if you look back, are there pockets of enjoyment you created and savored for yourself? Loving ourselves means we practice self-care and perform actions that enrich our lives on all levels. What have you done differently in 2018?
Enjoyment Of Life – by RoseAnn V. Shawiak
Dancing around in timeless space, waltzing and
embracing, feeling the closeness of another
human being.
Coming alive, entering new mind-altering dimensions,
feeling alive and vibrant for periods of tantalizing
enjoyment.
Stepping and swinging in time to music, swaying with
it’s rhythm, feeling it’s peace fill inner restraints,
loosening them and releasing good humor and feelings
throughout individual beings.
All jostled and winded – full of brand new oxygen
getting to brain fibers and neurons, bringing life to
the forefront to be enjoyed by everyone today.
Life is wonderful, peaceful and being lived to the
utmost for certain periods of time.
All the while, implanting sensuous sensations to make
each person feel so good.
“Our human face happens to be one of the most powerful channels that we all use to communicate social and emotional states: everything from enjoyment, surprise, empathy, and curiosity.” Rana el Kaliouby

Motivation Mondays: Enjoyment of Life
Learning is pleasurable but doing is the height of enjoyment. Novalis
I don’t want to have lived in vain like most people. I want to be useful or bring enjoyment to all people, even those I’ve never met. I want to go on living even after my death! Anne Frank
The joy of life consists in the exercise of one’s energies, continual growth, constant change, the enjoyment of every new experience. To stop means simply to die. The eternal mistake of mankind is to set up an attainable ideal. Aleister Crowley
What does Enjoyment of Life Quotient look like to you? What does it look like to others? While I was working on this post, I had several titles in mind. I wanted to help us remember the importance of recreational activities but recreation as a title sounded so clinical. I looked at synonyms for the word and these popped up:recreation. amusement, diversion, entertainment. hobby, hobbyhorse, pastime. delight, enjoyment, pleasance, pleasure… As I considered the list of words, ENJOYMENT jumped at me. It was the perfect term I had in mind for all the things we could do to add delight and pleasure to our lives. It is so easy to get caught up in the 24/7 grind of daily demands and forget that life is also about living, enjoying, entertaining and smelling the occasional fragrant flower that wafts past our busy noses. Why do some of us postpone a moment of shared enjoyment with loved ones?
What are you waiting for? When will the time/place be perfect for you to stop, decompress, and just chill out with loved ones or chill out with yourself? It’s never too late to have a good time or enjoy some happy upbeat time with friends and family. We just have to be committed to making time for our own enjoyment of life. If we don’t, we will be contributing to our own demise in so many ways. Laughter, music, dance, exercise, great food and the company of people we love, all contribute to our quality of life. If we don’t take the time to nurture ourselves and our relationships, eventually, it would take a toll on our sense of well-being. Enjoying life helps us stay motivated to accomplish our goals because we know we can do more with our skills, and we can celebrate our achievements with loved ones. Don’t put off those gatherings or outings. Seize the moment and get those dancing feet moving again. Smile more. Help others feel better. Help your community, online or offline, achieve their goals.
The Power of a Smile by Tupac Shakur
The power of a gun can kill
and the power of fire can burn
the power of wind can chill
and the power of a mind can learn
the power of anger can rage
inside until it tears u apart
but the power of a smile
especially yours can heal a frozen heart

Motivation Mondays: Enjoyment of Life

Motivation Mondays: Enjoyment of Life
I have always said and felt that true enjoyment can not be described. Jean-Jacques Rousseau
I love working if it’s with people who are capable of having a good time. People with a little bit of enjoyment of what they do. If it’s enormous pressure, and people feel that their lives are at stake, then it’s agony. So I try to pick projects where I feel like I’m going to avoid those traps. Alan Arkin
I do not believe that God has created us under this dire necessity to toil, like beasts, to sustain life. I believe it is his will that we should hold absolute mastery over time, so as to devote it mainly to intellectual and moral improvement, domestic enjoyment, and social intercourse. William Lloyd Garrison
How Do We Ensure We are Enjoying Our Lives? First, we must acknowledge, if that is the case, that we are shortchanging ourselves in the enjoyment category of our lives. Then we must develop a plan of action to overcome our natural inclination to work 18 hour days, eat a quick takeout, drink some alcohol and fall into bed. STOP! Mix up that crazy routine…it’s a roller-coaster to an early demise. Start small. Stop everything and give yourself a 30 minute do nothing break. Use that time for reflection/prayer, introspection or meditation. Add a call and a visit with a close friend to catch up on each other’s lives. Gradually, include a return to something you used to love doing before life became a hamster wheel for you. What was it? Was it safe and fun? Go do it. Do it alone and then go do it with your closest friends and family. I started going to concerts alone this year and it has become one of my best gifts to myself.
What more can we do? We all need recreation in our lives and if we do it consistently, our quality of life and sense of well-being will improve. Build on those small wins by adding a date night to your calendar. It could be with your partner, a close friend/family or with yourself. Add another layer to your enjoyment; take a Zumba class, take a long walk around your neighborhood. Go catch a movie or a concert and enjoy every moment of it. Did I mention turning off that smartphone when you are in good company? Yes, give your social media addiction a break and just kickback and love your life… It’s the only one you’ve got. What else? As you build on creating enjoyment moments in your life, plan a trip, learn a new skill or language and make new social connections that are enriching and rewarding. Each of us has the capacity to make positive changes in our lives and it doesn’t have to cost money, if we spend some time thinking it through. What are you waiting for? Go do it! End 2018 with a joyful skip and a renewed passion for your life. Happy Holidays!

Coming together
it is easier to work
after our bodies
meet
paper and pen
neither care nor profit
whether we write or not
but as your body moves
under my hands
charged and waiting
we cut the leash
you create me against your thighs
hilly with images
moving through our word countries
my body
writes into your flesh
the poem
you make of me.
Touching you I catch midnight
as moon fires set in my throat
I love you flesh into blossom
I made you
and take you made
into me.

One of my goals for this coming year is to just be happy where we are. My boys love Moana and when they sing about finding happiness where you are kind of hit me. We moved to a new state a few years ago and I really want to go back. But it isn’t financially possible right now, so I’m working to make the best of Texas while we are here. My happiness needs to come from myself, my husband, and my boys.
True. We need to find it in ourselves first.
I agree. Enjoying your life here and now is very important to stay happy and enjoy your life the fullest. It is a good reminder to appreciate all the little things and find true emotions within yourself right now
Good for you for challenging yourself and being your best self! I am trying to be more grateful and enjoy the moment more these days because life is too short!
I’ve spent the last few years also discovering how to build a life around what makes me happy and enjoying the moment instead of waiting for the best time to do whatever. I love your last paragraph about what more we can do!
This is a really great article! I love all the different quotes you work in!
I agree that you shouldn’t wait until everything is perfect to start enjoying life, its here now!
This is a truly eye opening post. I realized that I can only have this life, so why not make the most out of it? My dreams may remain as just dreams but what I have now (which I sometimes take for granted) are the things that I need to enjoy my life.
I think that we can sometimes get so wrapped up in life, that we forget to acknowledge the pieces of it that bring us such joy. Especially the small things. And waiting until tomorrow…how many times have we all been guilty of that?! Great post.
As someone who has also suffered an autoimmune disease I am so sorry to hear that! I am glad you have such a positive outlook
I love your posts so much. They are always so positive and give me something to look forward to!
I love the poem you share about how strong a smile is! Enjoyment of life is so important especially for me as a mother. It is so easy to get down but once you truly realize how blessed you are then life becomes so enjoyable even in the midst of the crap!
Good for you for the huge changes/health improvements you’ve made this year! Thinking of an “enjoyment of life quotient” is a new concept for me but I like it!
Thank you Flossie! It can make a difference.
I absolutely love elf! You’re right about it being in full festive swing and it’s things like this which make me feel really happy about life x
Yes, I saw it for the first time and it made me smile too…
Enjoyment is everything. I am doing something for myself today, I am always doing things for others. Tonight I am going to a gingerbread baking blogging event in London. It should be very enjoyable.
Fantastic! I’m rooting for you
I am glad you were able to bounce back from your health issues. Here’s hoping that we’ll always be in the pink of health in the coming years! 🙂
Amen to that! Thank you! 🙂
I love this and finding enjoyment in life is something I try so hard to do, even through the really tough times. It’s so important!
I’m with you and I just had to make a decision to get back to my life against the odds.
I’m in love with the fact that you threw a little Tupac in here 😉 You have a very engaging and meaningful blog, thank you for sharing these thoughts of yours!
Hahaha! TY girl. 🙂
Definitely a motivating post. I definitely need to take time and make the most out of life. Will reflect on the things that mentioned here so I can have more positive thoughts in my life
Oh Dwight! I bet you are doing fine! 🙂
Your page is always a good place to start reading .. There’s a lot of positive aura and inspirational message. Thanks for always sharing your thought and experience. Looking forward for more.
Thank you dear one! You added cheer to my day too. 🙂
keep sharing. I love reading your page.=)
I love that poem – really sums up enjoyment doesn’t it! For me, enjoying life is being able to do what I love…
I concur.:)
My 2018 has been similar in some cases to yours – and I’ve been finding and being aware of the moments of joy in my life, rather than being negative. It’s being mindful of your own happy moments and saying YES to them!
Amen to that. It hasn’t been easy but I am saying YES! to the good and great.
Its true, we dont need to be perfect to feel happy or be healthy. Im glad you did that and got better than before.
Thank you… it made a difference
oh man i wish i could join a gym to feel better. i can’t even get back to pool therapy since being in hospital in october. keep getting stronger !!
Joy
Keep the faith. Start small. Walk a little every day and build up.
just reread your post and loved the poem by Tupac. He really was a clever guy. Joy
I also have an auto immine that can make it very hard to enjoy even the smallest of things because of the way that it makes you feel. I think that finding enjoyment in life is all in how your perspective is!
True… we need to keep living and believing
Super post! Thank you! I’m all about the enjoyment of life. That’s why I launched Happier Place – to help others and myself put a little more focus on enjoying life and doing more of what makes us happier (experience joy) – especially outdoors. So much of what you shared here connects with me and my vision!
xx Luci
I love the name you chose.:)
Thank you, Elizabeth! The idea was to “make a happy place better”. But it really has morphed more into the idea of “we can’t always be completely happy, but we can always be a little bit happier”.
I adore The Power of a Smile. There is so much truth in it. It’s such a small thing that can make a whole load of difference x
True… and it reminds me of Tupac. He was always smiling even when crap was going on around him.
I feel grateful each and everyday. Love your inspiration to ensure the twe are enjoying our lives. I do think its important to connect with family and friends on a regular basis to remind ourselves why we are working so hard.
Totally… we need those connections.
Yes the connections with others are important to create and also maintain.
You must be very proud! I’m so happy to hear that you are doing well and made all those steps forward! And I agree, we need to stay close to our loved ones, it doesnt have to be blood related family, just the people we chose !
I love your motivational Mondays. I definitely enjoy life! My kiddos and my husband are my joy!
I think that so often, I put myself on the bottom of the to-do list. I can relax after x, ,y, and z are done. Or, I cant do this thing that brings me joy until the time is right or finances are in order, as of denying joy is a “mature” decision. This postbwas such a great lesson to find joy today.
I totally agree that falling into a routine can sap your energy and happiness. That’s one reason I love the holidays . . . it’s full of fun things we only do this time of year!
I love this post and I agree with the message. True happiness comes from within.
Very motivating! Keep up the great work, and more good stuff to come in 2019.
This is definitely a good motivator to me. I need to not let life just pass me by, waiting for things to be perfect. I just need to rethink what I already have and see the beauty of those things which will help immensely. It’s all about gratitude.
I think we get so busy sometimes we often forget to enjoy life! This post was a great reminder, thanks for sharing!
As always, your Motivation Monday post was exactly what I needed to read. Thank you for always encouraging your readers to live their best lives- you are such a light in this community!
I find its so necessary to find something you’re grateful for each day. It really helps your lookout in life.
I absolutely love reading your posts. So much good energy and motivation to start my week. Thank you!
This is such an inspiring post. I always say we have to enjoy each moment regardless our condition. I am glad that you are enjoying life and teaching us to do the same.
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. We should always be thankful every single day for the life we live. I loveeee this post
I love the power of smile message. It melts my heart for a time. My smile is truly the start of my healing. Thank you for this sharing.
We should all enjoy our lives. Have a passion of what we are doing and be grateful that we are alive in this happy place called earth.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Enjoy your life to the fullest. Life is all we have so let us enjoy each day.
I think a big smile can make a massive difference. Also, to be grateful is super important and puts things in perspective xx
Holiday season is the best! No matter what holiday it is it reminds how great it is to have family and friends to gather with, to laugh and enjoy life. It’s important to be reminded of that during grim sunless November and December here.
Let us live our life as if we wouldn’t live tomorrow! live life to the fullest.. enjoy every single moment. for you would definitely enjoy the ride of life!
Beautiful set of poems. I tend to be more grateful for small things since they mean so much and keep me positive.
That is exactly what I was thinking right now. Last month I had a massive emotional break down, but my family and son helped me through all this. They spent time with me. And make realize that life is too ahort for depression. We only live once and our life span is too short to be. God gave us the chance to live and lobe and so be it.
That poem is great – really sums up enjoyment! For me, enjoyment is about doing what you love…
For me it isn’t that easy to enjoy everything in my life, I work on myself and I reflect myself a lot. Your post did help me to questioning myself and make me think about thinks in another way. Something that helps me a lot is meditation and yoga. After doing that I get the motivation to start the day right.
Enjoying life is something we need to do every day. Life is short and we never know where life might take us. Enjoying every moment that we can is important. I enjoy life the most by just being with my family and making memories that will last a lifetime.
I love your attitude and how positive and grateful you are even when things aren’t perfect!
While I certainly enjoyed my life PRE husband, my husband has really opened my eyes up as to how to look at life and how to not sweat the small stuff and to really just live in the moment. No scheduling things and just live. Everything will work out in the end.
Great post, people need more positive messages like this, especially during the stressful Holiday Season, it is easy to forget the blessings we have.
I love how positive your posts are! Enjoyment of life is something I am working on like being present and enjoy the little things.
I just want to keep enjoying my life. I don’t want to be troubled by the trivial and the drama. Life is too short. Let’s all enjoy the ride.
Right. You can’t keep waiting for the perfect moment to enjoy life. You take it one day at the time. I enjoy life life by treating myself better with or away from family. Grateful for waking up everyday
Enjoyment of Life is probobly the most important ever! we live only once!
This is extremely motivational ! I admire you for being able to bounce back after all those health issues. I always try and make someone smile everyday, it makes me happy 🙂
All full of information that are very useful. Thanks for sharing such a nice post.
Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears. ~John Lennon
I love that you are finding enjoyment in your life. I think we often get so busy with the trivial, with the idea of overcoming the negativitiy or challenges, that we often forget to enjoy the race! They often say with regards to travel that the reward isn’t often the destination but rather the actual travelling to the destination. With life this is also true…I am sure our heaven with be unbelievable, but if you look around you…you will hopefully find some amazing beauty, joy, and happiness in the travel to your heaven!
Cheers on the growth you found, cheers on the overcoming your mental state while dealing with your condition, & cheers to sharing such an amazing message.
Merry Christmas!
~eric
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. May the joys of the holiday fill your heart and home. <3
For me, the enjoyment of life is just living with the little pleasures in life: cooking a good dinner, enjoying the weather, listening to good music, exploring the city, and etc. Just enjoying the little things makes me happy.
Aw! I’m sorry that you have had health problems, but I’m glad you decided to attack it this year. You are such an encouragement to others!
“Seize the moment and get those dancing feet moving again. Smile more. Help others feel better. Help your community, online or offline, achieve their goals.”
This is so important! Just do whatever you can and stop complaining about things. That will make you enjoy life again.
It took me well into my 30’s before I finally learned how to enjoy life. Now that I’ve figured it out it’s hard for me not to enjoy it even when things around me get a bit Rocky. It’s all about having an Attitude of Gratitude each and every da!
We have to enjoy life no matter our present circumstances. I love that you decided to take your life back and were able to find the joy in your life!
Life is so short and we all need to appreciate what we have and try our best to enjoy the life that we have.
In 2018, I have learned to do things for myself. I as doing things for everyone else and did not think about myself. Next step for next year is to get back into the workforce after 3.5 years as a stay at home mom.
What I did more of in 2018 was take care of myself! I am always rushing around trying to do everything for everyone that by the time I got to me, I was too exhausted! I’ve learned that the better I take care of me, the better results in life I get. And, I’m grateful for it!
I love motivational posts like this. I especially loved the poem “but the power of a smile
especially yours can heal a frozen heart” – beautiful
I think this is something that I need to do right now. I am working very hard most of the times and sometimes tend forget to enjoy my life. From now on, I am going to start enjoying life starting for myself and with my love ones. Thank you for this post you inspired me a lot.
Love the Tupac quote! And I agree with so much of this post, especially the message about enjoying oneself and the power of a smile. I believe that when you smile, it actually does make you feel better.
These posts are so amazing and (for lack of a better word) motivating! Thank you for sharing!
Your blog posts are always so motivational. I love it. I just started doing yoga again after a few years away from it. It helps me relax and focus on all the positive things in my life rather than the daily stresses.
I love this reminder to enjoy life! I completely related when you compared the childlike innocence to the movie ELF (I abosolutely love that movie)!
Any time I can find happiness in life, I am grateful!
What an uplifting post! I love your positivity, it shines through in your words. I too am learning to make positive changes in my life right now, it’s a great feeling!
I try my best to find at least a little enjoyment daily. No matter how hard life can be at times, we must always find joy in those little things.
Sometimes when th e responsibilities too much and the money making is getting to tough, we end up working and thinking 16 hours a day. Meaning we are wasting these days stressing and tiring ourselves. Give ourselves a break once in a while. We are humans not robots.
Enjoyment is such a vital part of the story for sure! Love all the positive vibes you share!
I love this article – it’s so inpirational, especially around chaotic holiday season!
One of my goals for 2019 is to add some recreation in my life. 20018 was very busy and I barely have time to the fun things that I used to enjoy
There is so much truth in it. We don’t need to be perfect to feel happy or healthy. You are very inspiring.
This is one lovely post! So glad to hear that you have fought your health issues well. Welcome back. I was also struggling through a rough patch and I went travelling. I returned healing myself. So grateful!
We only live once. So we better enjoy every single days of our lives. God bless.
As always, I am again motivated by your post. Just keep on doing this 🙂
Thank you
We should really enjoy and be thankful for our life. Thank you for sharing this, this is very inspiring.
So important to enjoy every second we get! I try to remember that when I’m feeling stressed
I love that quote by Rana el Kaliouby, it really strikes home with me!
Every day gives me a new day to feel grateful about something. I try to at least think of one thing I’m gratwful everyday.
This is a really great resource you have provided, congrats on taking the steps to snatch your life back. How did yous stay motivated after joining the Orange Theory?
The Holidays is my favorite time of the year. It’s this time where I really look back at the year and all that im grateful of. I think the enjoyment of life is to really enjoy the moment and value what’s important like family and friends.
My husbands struggles with anxiety every since my daughter was born and I want to help him enjoy life more. He’s such a good dad! I am so thankful of my family!
Our life is so important because it was just given once. Thatis why should spend it a meaningful by helping others.
so cool that things are going better for you. I really think that we have to work to be happyear. But that is something that it’s better when we have people closer to us, like friends, family… And i really believe that we need to work each day to be happyear, it shood be our day mission.
This is an incredible post, living life we often forget to enjoy it and it’s the little things that matter the most. A little gratitude is all you need to enjoy the life
It’s true, we only live once, so give, love, share as you can. We can’t be rich or spend money in heaven so do it all here. It would all be free in heaven anyways.
Great poem! I always try to find enjoyment in life but it’s not always easy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Elf…
enjoyment is simply a life hack for everyone. “Rather it is the small, and often unexpected, pleasures in life that can make us smile each day. it also make our days meaningful for others as well.
Enjoyment of life for me is being contented with either grand or simple. Life is beautiful.
I love this! Such a good reminder to not only show gratitude but to acknowledge the joy and wonder in our lives!
I can’t agree more, finding enjoyment in everything and especially the small moments in life is very very important. Thank you so much for your post, love it.

This is just what I needed. Exam season has been stressing me out but this post is the inspiration I needed to push through and go back to enjoying life.
Congratulations for coming out a winner. You sound like your body and mind are in such a peace place. Continue enjoying and appreciate everything you have because truly they are a blessing. With light.
What great thoughts to end the year with! I need to be more grateful in the everyday things for sure.
Beautifully written. I find joy in the littlest of things and I do my best to live a grateful life.
I really like the part about turning off your phone when you are with company. That is one thing I try to follow and make my kids follow. The phone will always be there. Next time you look up, the people in your life might not be there any more.
The power of a smile is amazing! Just hearing my daughter laugh and seeing her smile can make what seems like a bad day great again. Kids are amazing like that, they are pure joy.
There is so much in life to enjoy and be thankful for, but why do I still feel sad and alone? I think the fault is within me. I have not fully learned how to embrace my life and my blessings. Thank you for inspiring me to change.
I definitely can relate to enjoying your moments because I deal with health issues but with God, everyday is better!
Life is what you make it, a smile at a stranger can really make someones day, having friends and family also make you realise just how lucky you are
I really enjoy your Monday posts. The theme gives me something to reflect upon and notice throughout my week. I might start a journal just for these posts!
For me, it is so important to enjoy every moment of your life whether it is a good or a bad moments. Because I think it is a matter of choice it is up to you if you want to be happy or not but I hope everyone will choose being happy instead of being sad. Life is too short for us to make our lives to be lonely or sad.
During the holidays I try to be grateful for everything I have. This was such an amazing post.
Inspiring. It is difficult to merge back in life after a tragedy strikes and maybe the enjoyment shifts to a new paradigm. For me it shifted from people to nature. Coming back to normal and reconnecting takes time.
Oh i can’t remember the last time i enjoyed my whole day without being lacked of sleep and not stress. Ever since I had my baby. My eagerness to earn enough money and take care of my baby was so high. But even if it’s that way I still cherish every second of my life because it is well spent with my baby.
Good to hear that you have managed to get on top of your health issues. I also have an autoimmune illness so know exactly where you are coming from!
I think appreciating the little things every day is finding enjoyment in life. 🙂
kudos to you to grabbing your life back and to enjoy it! to me, we need to learn to enjoy things individually as well as around others
I know this might sound weird but this year I’ve chosen to be very selfish and focus on the things that make me happy. It’s been wonderful and I’ve made a lot of friends.
I believe of power of hugs…and doing things that put a smile on our face…little things…the quiet things……those make me happy!
I believe that our concept of enjoyment of life differs as we age. Currently I would love to travel but few years down the line I would like to settle down to a place
What a great reminder that no matter your circumstances, you must live your life to the fullest! It’s hard to remember that at times with everything that life can through your way, but I life not lived is no life at all.
I have to agree that happiness comes from your self first.. great motivational message.
Enjoyment for me is happening right now. We have financial freedom and we don’t splurge on material things. My relationship with my partner is getting better. We rarely have quarrels. I have an awesome family. Life is beautiful.
I’m such a perfectionist, I get stuck in this habit of waiting for things to be perfect before I relax or start to try to enjoy. Your posts are always so thought provoking for me and seem to always hit so close to home.
I am very thankful for my family and opportunities to serve people each day. God has blessed us so much.
ever since my near death experience and crazy health issues I now see enjoyment differently (it’s more obvious/noticeable to me). I definitely live in the moment now and don’t focus so heavily on the future or past, I think being in the moment makes a person more happy and able to enjoy life to the fullest. Also, knowing what’s most important in life and surrounding yourself with it the majority of the time (like people, books, music, etc…)
Great topic, I took enjoyment in reading and thinking about it… ; )
Life is too short to live without enjoyment. I totally agree that we should plan and make sure that we have time to enjoy!!! I can’t wait to spend holidays with family!
I love this post. I am glad to see you aren’t letting your health issues stop you from enjoying life. I also have health issues and I used to be like you where I felt bitter about my health and it kept me from enjoying life. Once I changed my mindset, then my whole attitude changed as well. I understand what you are saying. With that said, I get the most joy from my family. Sure there are still hard days, but I stay positive and with my family by my side I can stay joyful and keep enjoying life.
Totally feel what you’ve presented in this post. This year I decided to pause, notice & enjoy every little pocket of time when there are no pressing tasks, worrying news or active stressors even for 5 minutes in any given day. Once I started looking out for these pockets of peace & calm, I found they occured more frequently than I realized. Relishing these moments have helped me develop a more positive attitude towards life and a sense of contentment.

“What are you waiting for?”
Love that question! I recently got something similar tattooed on my leg to remind me to just do things sometimes instead of thinking of reasons to not do them.
Happy Holidays! Thank you for this reminder. I would have to agree that enjoyment of life is very important. It can’t be all work but instead we should try to find and achieve the work and life balance.
Thank you for reminding me to have a good time and take break to enjoy some time with friends.
I really try to live my life this way, but I’m human so there is always room for growth, thanks for reminding me
I’ve heard amazing things about Orange Theory Fitness– I have a friend who swears by it to maintain postitive self outlook. To me, enjoyment means spending time with my husband and babies while the kids are so small. It also means scheduling some time to spend alone to recharge.
Enjoyment for me means winding down at home and being grateful for what I have. It makes me grateful!
I so enjoy my life! Not every minute, and not every day, but overall, I am so fortunate to have the people in my life that I do.
I’ve recently joined a gym too and it really does make you feel 100% better. I have so much more energy now and I’m much happier throughout the day.

Elf is my son’s favorite Christmas movie, but I agree and think that we could all take a page from him!
I agree, we all need to enjoy your life a bit more, not just live it. Taking a trip for me is part of enjoying life!
We decided this year to not give gifts, but instead set aside a special time/event for those we love. We all have enough STUFF, we want to enjoy time together.
I have really been trying to refocus these thoughts lately and focus more on my family which is my true happiness!
Enjoyment of life for me comes when my family is well taken care of. I’m a simple woman and while comforts are nice, I find my greatest joys come when I make others happy.
Love the advice to mix things up. Don’t settle for the daily mundane routine. Live life! Love it!
I would so agree that enjoyment is such a powerful energizer! If you are happy with what you do it show and makes it so much more special!
I totally agree with you. When we tap into something we enjoy, life feels a lot more fulfilling. I’m glad you’ve started going to concerts too. Music and dancing are the best way to lift your spirits. I’ve also taken steps to celebrate small wins, because all big things start with small steps.
Loved this. In this day and age with all the stress we face, its difficult to enjoy life. I try to find joy in the little things, it helps.
I just went to see John Maxwell speak. I really like him. I enjoy life. I wish the same for everyone around me. 🙂
A very important and relevant post for this time of year. We should be celebrating life and time with family and friends all year round.
I love this post, beautifully written! I am slowly trying to find enjoyment in life, in all the little things
I always try to pass onto myself how important enjoyment is. I try not to complain even when it comes to my job and all the obligations. 🙂
I just realized that Motivation Mondays are sometimes a collaboration of posts from different authors providing inspirational words. I love reading these posts and thanks for offering such proactive inspiration.
It’s so important to be thankful, take pause, and think about the things we do have. Instead of the things we don’t!
I think that we should cherish more the little moments in life because they are the ones which build our happiness. The journey is as important as the destination, if not even more.
very interesting and beautifully written post, if we take things positive we can find enjoyment in everything.
For me Achievement doesn’t mean just achieving at work. … But enjoyment also means pride in doing a good job, a sense of satisfaction, well-being, love, affection – all the things in life that make your heart beat.
Ι always challenge myself to be the best version of me and I want to believe that most of the times I succeed. I love you motivational posts.
The post really motivated me ! Thanks for that!
Enjoyment of life is so important, I love your motivational posts, it really inspires me to try and be the best version of me 🙂
I really love that you included Tupac here I miss him so much he is such a talent that we lost too soon
Merry CHRISTMAS to you! Sorry about the Struggles that your year has held but thankful there were good moments too and praying that blessings will continue to flow in 2019 and that your faith will grow in a wonderful way.
Thank you for your thoughtful and beautiful message. I wish you abundant blessings in 2019 too.
You are so very welcome and thank you!! 🙂 <3
Indeed, life should be celebrated and enjoyed to the fullest.
Amen!
Another awesome post, as usual. We really do have to re-evaluate our lives sometimes and determine what the “joy stealers” are so we can avoid them or rid our lives of them. I empathize about autoimmune issues, as I have a few of my own.
Thank you so much for this post. It is very hopeful. I too struggle with autoimmune issues. And I have decided to live up to my best. Do what I enjoy the most. I always love the sweet poems you share.
