“We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise, we harden.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Motivation Mondays: Rejuvenation
We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come. Joseph Campbell
For the last third of life there remains only work. It alone is always stimulating, rejuvenating, exciting and satisfying. Doris Lessing
Rejuvenation by Russell Sivey
Talking of being in a deep sorrow
Masked for a time beyond
I hide, under my shell of invisibility
I sulk, for I am lower still
Than I was to begin with
But then something triggers
My thoughts explode with all kinds
Of special feelings of heavenly
Love, brought to me by so many
Of my friends, and my family
All of whom I cherish
Without which I would certainly
Drown in my own darkest nights
Of emptiness…
But I only see light filled love
Beaming all around me
Lifting me higher each day
Making my pain go away
So I may make it again this way
And love all today Via poetrysoup.com

Rejuvenation – Poem by Arti Chopra
Trampled upon
The tender
Green grass
Turns brown and withered
Where it was mutilated
And ravaged
Soon
The healing rays of the sun
And the earth
Help it
To regain
Its green
Sprightly glory
The healing of time
And Mother Nature
Once again
Performs its magic
Life
Returns
Ah
So slowly
And surely
Rejuvenation
Begins…. via poemhunter.com

I absolutely love the first quote you use in this post! I had never thought of it this way before but it is so true… if we are not changing, renewing, and rejuvenating we will harden. Thanks for sharing!
A great way to get rid of stress is, every once in a while, do something totally different and unexpected without any prior planning. I have and it really helps to rejuvenate the mind and soul
Love is definitely the perfect feeling to explain rejuvenation, just as the first poem mentioned. There is no better feeling that opens your heart and soul, making you open, like a flower.
Finding new ways to rejuvenate myself is so much fun! I particularly find happiness and that sense of “resetting” while travelling abroad. So much to do, learn, and see!
Rejuvenation is really necessary at times, to recognize where we are in life and where we are heading too. You posts are always so motivating and eye opening, thanks for sharing..!!
Your Motivation Mondays are always good reminders to me. It feels exhausting sometimes to have to revive yourself over and over but it’s so necessary to adapt.
I have been working on changing and rejuvenating myself a lot lately. It’s meant losing a couple of close connections and has been so hard. But I know that it will be worth it in the long run.
Rejuvenation is just what I need. I have been super stressed at work and this was a great reminder for me to know that soon this shall all pass and I will feel new and green and vibrant again. Thanks!
This is what I needed today. Work has been hectic and stressful and I needed the reminder that all will calm down soon and I will begin the fell renewed, refreshed, green and vibrant soon. 😊
Rejuvenation is just so good for the soul and something we all need to function well and lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives. I have found spending time in the great outdoors to be a great way to help with rejuvenation and vitality. It helps you to reflect and recharge in a natural setting without all the modern distractions and you come home feeling refreshed and ready to begin your other challenges.
Every start of the week should have a great motivation to prep up your mood for the rest of the battle in the office. This link deserve a beer! Thanks for compiling this altogether.
Lovely poems and so inspirational. I start each day off with journaling and looking for positive imagery to set the tone. The Joseph Campbell quote is one of my favorites.
Ahhh love this reminder! And the quote “We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” is so GOOD!!!
The life that we’ve planned vs. the life that is waiting for us. I kinda believe this. So many plans failed. I am not very successful nor very rich but I am now contented. I guess this is really where God wants me to be 😀
i can get so stuck in my ways at times – changing and rejuvenation seem so hard for me to adapt but when i dont i usually burn myself out – i have to try harder –
I love how productive you are on Mondays. If you truly love what you’re doing Monday is just another day like the rest. I also make Mondays my bitch, as this is the day you make progress on your competitors.
This is generally a really hard mindset for me to get into on Mondays. Although, it’s a lot easier with blogging because I love it so much. But you’re right. We need to come in and renew, rejuvenate etc. as Monday is the start of the week 🙂
Change is the best part of rejuvenation! There’s nothing that could beat a fresher outlook about life and a better perspective about things. We could all use some Monday motivation.
Rejuvenation is such a lovely topic to talk about. I feel that it’s not like a completely new start, because you’re still working with what you’ve got. But it still feels new, if that makes sense!
I feel like Monday is the hardest day to rejuvenate, somehow I always feel so much more burnt out on a Monday. But it is definitely important to rest when we’re weary so I should really try to focus on that!
Thank you for this motivational post! I have been struggling with my own dark thoughts that I needed to be reminded that love is what I have and all I need!
I really do believe that we all should take time to rejuvenate ourselves whether its from school, work or our busy schedules. I always feel so much more refreshed afterwards.
I really like your title and this quote is so true. Change is really important, in our lives and also in our ourselves. Thanks for sharing this motivation.
Rejuvenating is making yourself new and fresh after your busy schedules and for me, the best thing to renew myself is to have a full body massage every weekends.
Absolutely right! We have to adapt and change constantly to stay fresh and ready. We cannot fight the forces that are coming or are here, but we can control how they affect us.
Loved the motivations.. The poems are so nice and well composed. I am not really artistic but motivating oneself with art is something which stays with you.
Looking at Monday as a day of rejuvenation is perfect! It is so hard to press through Monday sometimes but knowing it is ALWAYS a fresh start may change my mind.
I think it’s more than the last third of life that involves work. I haven’t stopped working since I was young. I’m probably on the second third ad it’s already exhausting.
I love this, ““When language is treated beautifully and interestingly, it can feel good for the body: It’s nourishing; it’s rejuvenating.” I believe that the words have the power to spread positivity!
I love that inspiring post !!
We all need a great boost of motivation on mondays ! Most of all now that summer is other and coldest weather is coming ahah Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for another uplifting post. The thing I love the most about what you bring us is that you include so many other resources to take advantage of, as well.
Rejuvenate is such a powerful concept. When we retore our minds and body everyday we are making a decision to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. Great post!!!
What a beautiful saying “We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.” Completely agreed. I do try to follow this.
amazing quotes about rejuvenating our souls… I had to really rejuvenate my soul after my near death experience due to a genetic rare liver disease, also, after my divorce and the reason for the divorce (which I won’t get into) but nature, sleep/rest, and LOVE helped immensely.
great post!
I have self proclaimed myself as the Queen of Rejuvenation. As a massage therapist for 14 years, it was very important to me to practice the many things I would suggest to clients. Even after ending my career, I took with me the many ways to rejuvenate, doing things like bath rituals on a weekly basis, body brushing daily and trips 2 to 4 times a year even if they were mini excursions to towns close to home. 🙂
‘Motivation monday’ is such a great idea. These poems are beautiful and the quotes are inspiring. I love poetry and I would say mondays are the day motivation is most needed.
I agree with this 10000% This is why self care is so important, we have to take time out and focus on ourselves to be able to put our best foot forward for others
The poetry and quotes you have chosen are so soothing, yes I would actually use the word rejuvenating. This post is like a warm cup of tea on a cold night, with a heat pack on your neck and fuzzy slippers on your feet. That’s how it makes me feel. Thank you for this post
Rejuvenation is important, but I think we often ignore that it’s needed. I really wish I had more vacation time & could go on longer trips like Europeans tend to do.
We as a society are good at taking care of our bodies and minds with exercise and schooling, but we often forget that our souls need attention and care, too. Rejuvenating our souls should be a daily habit. Consider doing more things that liven your spirit in positive ways.
Wow! This is very inspiring! We need to get rid of our old expectations and preconceived notions to welcome the beautiful life that lies ahead. I completely agree to the statement ‘The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.’
I like Arti Chopra’s poem, about how mother nature makes sure that everything comes back to life at the beginning of spring, even if it dies in autumn. That’s how we should think, that life happens in cycles.
The feeling of rejuvenation is one of the greatest feelings! One of the things that help me feel rejuvenated is when I’m surrounded by the beauty of nature.
I am the type of person that NEEDS words in my life. It is so incredible how easily just a few siple words can change everything in a persons life, especially to motivate. Thank you <3
Rejuvenating is one of way of renewing yourself like relaxing or resting after a long day and busy hours from work and for me, it so important to do as we show our love to ourselves.
Rejuvenating ourselves is definitely important. I do it by meditating each night, making sure i remind myself to pause and take in deep breaths, having a cup of tea in the middle of the day, and by taking breaks when I need them.
I am so not ready for change all of the time. It forces me to sometimes look at myself and realize yep I have challenges and they need to be addressed.
This is so beautiful and true. Rejuvenate to avoid being harden – I like it and never heard it put so simply. Thank you for sharing this. I feel so at peace.
That Joseph Campbell quote at the very beginning really spoke to me. I love the idea of shedding your skin and being reborn with the new seasons, especially after being surrounded by such negativity.
I am sadly in need of rejuvenation! I especially like this quote: “Rest when you’re weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work.” – Ralph Marston
My hubby often reminds me to do just this! He does worry about my health, because I have some challenges with autoimmune disorders and so naturally have a poor immune system that allows me to get sick fairly easily and often. 🙁
I do agree we need to rejuvenate from the difficult positions we are in. I think making sure I am somewhere with simple pleasures and being present helps me do that.
Rejuvinating best health tips for a satisfying and fulfilling life.Always make it a habit and your life will never be the same again.
I absolutely love the first quote you use in this post! I had never thought of it this way before but it is so true… if we are not changing, renewing, and rejuvenating we will harden. Thanks for sharing!
Nothing like a good motivational post to inspire!
A great way to get rid of stress is, every once in a while, do something totally different and unexpected without any prior planning. I have and it really helps to rejuvenate the mind and soul

Rejuvenating yourself is really important most especially after your tiring days from work. This is also one way of giving love to yourself.
The life that we’ve planned vs. the life that is waiting for us. I kinda believe this. So many plans failed. I am not very successful nor very rich but I am now contented. I guess this is really where God wants me to be 😀

Your photos exhibit some great ideas for rejuvenation. Tea, candles, and nature are what I turn to when I’m looking for rejuvenated.
Changing and renewing ourselves in ways that benefit us is so important. Change can definitely show growth!
Rejuvenating is one of way of renewing yourself like relaxing or resting after a long day and busy hours from work and for me, it so important to do as we show our love to ourselves.
True but very difficult to forget or leave behind what you were sure was going to be your life and live out what had been planned for you instead…
Love this motivation post! Totally agree with the need to always change, renew, and rejuvenate! xo, Jaime

Rejuvenation by Russell Sivey
I agree with this quote We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise, we harden. It’s good to change for our own good.
Rejuvenation is so important! We live in such a go go go world. We need to pause and take a bit of time to recharge and refresh.
Rejuvenating ourselves is definitely important. I do it by meditating each night, making sure i remind myself to pause and take in deep breaths, having a cup of tea in the middle of the day, and by taking breaks when I need them.
Change is the only constant in life and it helps by taking a pause once in a while to rejuvenate and recharge.
Beautiful poem by Arti Chopra. And the quote by van Goethe is very enlightening. We should always stop and give time to rejuvenate ourselves.
Beautiful and uplifting…I loved the poems!
Very inspirational! I love these weekly posts. They make me ready to get started 🙂
I am so not ready for change all of the time. It forces me to sometimes look at myself and realize yep I have challenges and they need to be addressed.
Great post! Definitely will motivate for the week
A spa session and a nice, relaxing massage are some of my simple, favorite ways of rejuvenating myself. 🙂

My simple pleasures are a nice pot of hot tea, or getting out into nature. Either activity leaves me feeling rejuvenated and raring to go.
It’s important for use to try and feel refreshed and rejuvenated isn’t it. I love that poem!
I can relate…we share that issue so i need to be mindful too. The last go around had me in and out of the hospital for 3 years…
Hi Elizabeth! I am always inspired reading your articles. Thank you so much for always motivating me!
Rejuvenation is so important, particarly as a parent. I could do with a break right now, I feel as though I am flagging!
I do agree we need to rejuvenate from the difficult positions we are in. I think making sure I am somewhere with simple pleasures and being present helps me do that.
I agree, we need to relax and rejuvenate ourselves every so often. All work and no play makes both the mind and the body dull.
I agree that rejuvenation is so important.
Let your body and your mind be your guide. Rest and relaxation helps us t stay healthy and cope with life’s obstacles.
