It took me quite a long time to develop a voice, and now that I have it, I am not going to be silent. Madeleine Albright
Women’s History Month: Today is International Women’s Day and the themes for this year are “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights” (UNW) and “An equal world is an enabled world #EachforEqual”(IWD) The first National Women’s Day was held in 1908-9 in New York City. It has grown from that first inspired outing, by a group of women who wanted our voices and needs to be heard, into a global event celebrated by women and girls around the world. UNWomen has always been a dedicated champion of the event and, since 1996, it has created themes to help us focus on key issues of paramount and international concern for our gender. The UN themes from 1996 to date are below. Do any of the topics or issues resonate with you or women you know? Do you even care about the subject? Why/Whynot? Over the years, these topics have had an impact on the lives of millions of women and some have had a direct impact on my life as well. By bringing these issues to the forefront, it has enabled UNWomen, NGOs, and government agencies to review their policies and make necessary changes. While some of the 193 member states of the UN might not have effective policies that support equality, many continue to create opportunities for gender equity and change.
UNWomen International Women’s Day Themes:

Applying the Principles of Generation Equality and Each for Equal: In case you are wondering how to apply the principles of each theme to your life and within your community, I have some helpful tips to share. The IWD Each for Equal theme/campaign has suggested that we Use the hashtag #eachforequal to remind everyone that we are part of the solution to building a gender-equal world. It requires that we remember “Collective Individualism‘ as making individual changes for the collective, Strike the #EachforEqual pose to motivate others, Engage in a year-long activity and collaboration with others, Take collective action and shared responsibility for change, Amplify via social media, and Take decisive action to bring about gender equality dialogue and change wherever we are. It takes individual action to build and grow a collective.
The UNW Generation Equality theme/campaign offers 12 tips to help lay and sustain a foundation of gender equality in our communities and households. These simple everyday actions can bring about great progress; Share the care in your home by sharing chores and shifting ideas about gender-specific roles, Call out sexism and harassment without fear of recrimination, Reject the binary – It’s humankind. Not mankind, Demand an equal work culture, Exercise your political rights, Shop responsibly and pick eco-friendly products from socially responsible companies, Amplify feminist books, movies and more, Teach girls that they are worthy by not reinforcing gender stereotypes, Challenge what it means to “be a man” by seeing the whole person, not the stereotype, Commit to a cause and donate time/money, Challenge beauty standards that perpetuate unrealistic visions of femininity and, above all, Respect the choices of others.

International Women’s Day 2020: How it began and why it’s still important
She wasn’t looking for a knight, she was looking for a sword. Atticus
If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman. Margaret Thatcher
We ask justice, we ask equality, we ask that all the civil and political rights that belong to citizens of the United States, be guaranteed to us and our daughters forever. Susan B. Anthony, Declaration of Rights for Women, July 1876
There never will be complete equality until women themselves help to make laws and elect lawmakers. Susan B. Anthony
I get very frustrated when I hear women saying, “Oh, feminism is passé,” because I think feminism means empowerment. Men can be feminists, too! Many men are feminists. We need feminism. It’s not against men; it’s about the empowerment of women. It’s the respect of women–giving women equal rights, the same opportunities. Annie Lennox
Is Gender Equality Relevant in Our Society Today? Yes, every nation should make it a top priority to encourage everyone to give their best work in service to humanity. In order to be fully engaged in service to our communities, we need access to training, mentoring and funding. If women are denied such access, then 50% of a nation’s potential is lost. I believe that all women have the potential to live fulfilling lives and we can do great things globally. However, female empowerment must begin with each of us working with women and men who believe in gender parity. Women must rise above petty bickering and learn to support and uplift each other and men must collaborate with us to achieve mutual goals. We must stop sabotaging our gender and align with men who support equality for all. For every wall we tear down, for every glass ceiling we break, for every stride we make for change, we must bring others along with us and mentor the younger generation.
Are we Close to Achieving Gender Equity? We are NOT quite there yet. We have made many inroads since the days when women were considered the personal property of their fathers and husbands but, we have more walls and ceilings to tear down. We will not be intimidated by those who wish to dismiss this important discussion with glib remarks that we are already equal. Yes, we are as humans but, we are not in the workplace or in many areas of society and life. Bury your head in the sand if you wish but, don’t expect me to join you. Wake up! What you dismiss today will impact your livelihood and legacy tomorrow. If you are familiar with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals Report 2018, you’d remember that there are 17 areas/goals that member states expect to improve for all citizens by 2030.
Which are most important to you?
Goal 1: No Poverty
Goal 2: Zero Hunger
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being
Goal 4: Quality Education
Goal 5: Gender Equality
Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Goal 13: Climate Action
Goal 14: Life Below Water
Goal 15: Life on Land
Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Number 5 on the list is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. A 2018 Progress Report/Review of Goal 5 found that there was still a lot of room for improvement and that member states should implement more aggressive efforts to create permanent change. Change demands effort and courage. My wish is that we reach these lofty goals well before 2030. What do you think?

The day will come when man will recognize woman as his peer, not only at the fireside but in councils of the nation. Then, and not until then, will there be the perfect comradeship, the ideal union between the sexes that shall result in the highest development of the race. Susan B. Anthony
Just be what it is that you are, and that is just fine. You don’t have to be what you’re not in any way. Live that and live that fully, and that is where you discover ecstasy. You can’t really have ecstasy as something other than yourself. Alice Walker
I am a feminist. I’ve been female for a long time now. I’d be stupid not to be on my own side. Maya Angelou
Excellence is the best deterrent to racism or sexism. Oprah Winfrey
Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others. Amelia Earhart
I write for those women who do not speak, for those who do not have a voice because they were so terrified because we are taught to respect fear more than ourselves. We’ve been taught that silence would save us, but it won’t. Audre Lorde
Women’s liberation is the liberation of the feminine in the man and the masculine in the woman. Corita Kent
GENERATION EQUALITY: Work/Health/Education/Gender Bias/Inequality: When we think of gender bias, what often comes to mind is topics on job bias and education inequity. Yet, gender bias flows into every area of our lives. The woman who earns less than her male colleague might not always have a working partner to make up the difference, and so that old logic of men as supreme heads of households ought to be buried with that equally archaic belief that women are cut out for only certain types of jobs. In our global community today, there are fewer women leaders because of societal expectations, archaic perceptions, and our acceptance of them. We can work to change this by taking actions that empower us and by aligning ourselves with others who will encourage us. If pay equity issues remain a hot button topic in the USA and globally, it is for good reason. When we are compensated fairly for equal work, we experience the power of financial independence and are able to put our energies into fighting for our rights on other issues that contribute to global inequity.
Where do you stand on this subject? How has it impacted your life or the lives of women around you? What little step can you take today to bring about change? It takes a village… it takes each one, helping one…

Great post! Never under estimate the power of women… I’m all in to support same pay rate and top executive, country leader, etc… If the person have the ability to achieve great things, it shouldn’t matter for male/female…
Exactly. That is what IWD is fighting for.
We women have come a long way, and even though we are not there yet, we sure would. Equal right for women is worth fighting for. So, we keep up the hope and the fight till it is. #EachforEqual
It’s hard to believe we are still having to fight for equal rights for women. I’m so thankful to the women who have fought hard and continue to fight.
Same here…
Yes we all us women have to fight for equal rights we need our voices to be heard
Indeed. Very true.
I am definitely in favor of gender equality, but I don’t think that has to equate to sameness. I think celebrating the ways that men and women are different can be equal and beautiful.
Holly, nobody is talking about sameness. We can never be the same but we can have fair and equitable treatment that compensates us equally = equal pay for equal work. equal opportunities for equal skills. That is not sameness. Please read my post again. TY! 🙂
I’ve seen a lot of my friends, especially those with daughters, posting about International Women’s Day. As a boy mom, I see the other side of this. I have been trying to raise my boys (they are still very young) to know that women are equal to them. I think that’s where it’s going to start and where the most change will happen. If we raise our children with the ideals that everyone is equal, then that’s what they will know!
Thank you Stephanie for your wisdom! It all begins in the home with this level of clarity. Thank you Sis. I’m tired of explaining this to people who think we are talking about sameness or comparisons. We are not. You explained it beautifully. TY 🙂
It doesnt really impact my business as influencer work ispretty women dominated. It did in my first job out of college!
interesting…
Ah yes, what a long way we’ve come. Thank you for this reflection on gender equality and our culture’s journey to equity.
appreciate the feedback
Happy womens day to all! It is so inspiring to see outspoken women who knows how to talk and lead really.
who did you have in mind?
This is an amazing write up for Women’s Day. I didn’t know UN Women has a motto for each year. Great Information
thank you
To me quality education is the most important. Once we are educated we can make better decisions. In my country of origin, women are still behind and need to be empowered.
yes, it’s a global problem
hehe. your margaret thatcher quote had me giggling. i always get a great deal of pleasure reading your quote posts. thanks for compiling such an eclectic variety.
glad you approve
I am happy that there is such a day for women. It is a day to recognize our strength, our uniqueness, and our contribution to society. I can only hope that all nations would have equal rights and privileges, regardless of gender.
it is my wish too.
This is a great life motivation. Thank you for sharing this amazing article!
did you read it?
I wonder when time will come that we won’t have to fight for equality because it’s already a given that we are equals.
is it a given?
Wow this is absolutely brilliant post. Yes I believe in Gender Equality and I think more people need to come out talking about the importance of equality.
speak up too
more women should stumble upon this post. and appreciate the power we have. 🙂 thank you so much for uplifting us!
Share the message
Happy International Women’s Day! We should use the day to remember what women have achieved and think of the future. But, we should always take action every day as you said, the fight for equal pay and reorganization is not over.
action is very important.
It’s a sad thing that we still need Women’s Day in these times, but we really do. Women are still paid less and viewed with less respect than men in many cases.
completely agree
Wow there is such a long history! I’m glad we’re where we are at today though!
okay…
Such an informative blog. And you are well said “Gender Equality leads to generational equality and it begins in our homes.”
glad you noticed.
Hhhaaaaa….I used to love celebrating the IWD but of late, I realised there is a systemic problem that needs to be solved first.
and that problem is?
International Women’s Day should be celebrated on each and every day! Let’s all truly embrace these values & genuinely live by them.
yes, and a special day is equally important.
It always amazes me to see how far women have come throughout the years. We’ve been able to progress with time.
indeed we have
It’s hard to choose which goal is more important to me. They are all so very important, and so very needed!
no problem. claim all
This was beautifully written to match a fantastic day to celebrate! Happy International Women’s Day.
glad you approve
I am definitely adopting the hashtag #equalforequal, we need a daily reminder of the struggle and where we need to be.
i agree
Wow, such a lovely post. Happy women’s day!!!
thank you
Women’s equality is important but when put in the correct context. Thank you for this encouragement.
correct context such as?
Gender equality is such a great theme for this year’s International Women’s day. Things have progressed in that area but it can always improve!
indeed it can
Happy International Women’s day! Let’s support gender equality
yes, let’s…
being a human, we need to push ourselves and get better and no matter what gender. This is very interesting post.
easier said than done.
Now a days we need this enforced big time! Love this post!
it would be helpful
I love how you’ve shown how Women’s day has evolved over the years. Love this!
thank you
I didn’t even realize International Women’s Day was a thing, but I’m glad it is. It’s a great day to celebrate women for sure!
it is a very important “thing”
I love this post! Women are truly amazing human beings. All of these women have impacted my life in one way or another–big and small. Thank you for remembering all women and how they contribute in so many different ways.
Who run the world? GIRLS!!!
Beyonce runs the world? 😉
Happy International Womens Day to all the ladies this week!
likewise
Women are not equal but are superior to men.
This post has a such a good message, love it
what did you like specifically?
One of my friends gave me a card that has that saying of Maya Angelou: “I am a feminist. I’ve been female for a long time now. I’d be stupid not to be on my own side”. I have been quoting that since last year.
hahaha. love it.
Been seeing posts about International Women’s Day in the social media and I also participated by posting my own in my Instagram. It is great to know we have celebration like these because being woman has a lot of challenges.
community effort is important
Thanks for sharing the speech of Michele Obama. Such a powerful woman. Let us empower more women and may they take the lead.
thank you
As I work at an NGO, I understand the importance of gender equality. Progress of society is not possible unless common folks are aware of it.
that is true … we need mutual support
Yeah!! Happy International Women’s Day & I wishing to continue enjoy my life by doing what I love in life, life is short
did you read my post?
Yes, I am. I always got inspired by your sharing, just that my comment doesnt relating to gender equality. Reason being am not comfortable to share my personal view tho
That is your decision…
Thank you for your understanding Eliz
International Women’s Day is one of the best national holiday’s I have always celebrated. It’s a day to reminisce and support the women behind innovation breakthroughs. Kudos to all women of change.
grateful for your support.
I think it’s so important to celebrate and uplift women. International Women’s Day is such a wonderful (and necessary) opportunity to do that.
i concur. support each other
I am a full-time working mom. Life’s not easy but after reading this I really feel inspired
good for you!
I like that UNW’s tips for implementing gender equality. We definitely need to call out sexism more often as well as challenge beauty standards that perpetuate unrealistic visions of femininity!
we do. speak out!
I just learnt this year Women’s day was #Generationequality driven. I think gender equality would be a huge achievement, but I feel there is still a lot to be done before we get there.
we have a long way to go.
Love how this day acknowledges the achievements of women that would’ve been not recognized years ago. 😊
yes, i agree
Happy women’s day 😍😍 very good article.. thanks for sharing..😇😇
Women are so powerful. So happy this month was created so we can finally get the recognition we deserve as we are creating history as we speak!
Upwards and onwards!
I live in a country where women are constantly discriminated and it comes from politics. I value this day so much, I strongly believe women are equal, we brains, will and power, we are not only the birthing machines.
We are definitely equal to the task. WE lack effective opportunity, not skills. TY! 🙂
Our school has bulletin boards decorated with so many great women this month. Everyone is learning a lot from looking at them.
About time! 🙂
More power and strength to women around the world. May we be the shining beacon of courage and faith in this time of crisis.
Amen to that!
This put a big happy smile on my face!
Great content! Super high-quality! Keep it up! 🙂
Appreciated
Always appreciate your extensive compilation and thoughts on the theme of the week/month. Happy women’s day!
Thanks again
Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration! I grew up in a household that gave me all the tools I needed to be able to do whatever I wanted to study, from engineering to nursing or design. I ended up going into economics. Over the years I have felt that as a mum and a wife, and a corporate person I am pull in all directions and I become a bit of an octopus. Today I can reflect on how far we have come and I am grateful to have had the opportunities and I don’t take them for granted.
I’m happy for you and that you ended up in a field where compensation can be better than in traditionally female-driven fields. I’m grateful too.
Beautiful site! I love all of the empowerment of women you promote!
Thank you!
Happy women’s day! I will be a bit spoilsport here. I don’t like comparisons at all, so the revolving matter for many people about ‘women equal to men, women ahead of men or women behind men’, it doesn’t really matter. Do your bit, but why compare. Everyone is different and can’t be judged or compared.
You’ve missed the point of International Women’s Day. It is not about simple comparisons, it is about fair and equitable treatment so we can all compete according to our abilities and skills. We live in a world that does focus on comparing and choosing men over women. Women earn 78% of the average male salary. The Gender Gap is real and dismissing it as just ordinary comparison like we are comparing shoes and hats is insulting to both genders. If governments around the world agree that improvements need to be made and both men/women have been fighting this for over 100 years, it is time to take your head out of the sand and get serious about issues that affect you, your mother, sisters and female friends. Please read my post carefully before leaving such comments next time. Thank you!
great motivation! it’s especially important for a crazy world like this now.
Appreciated!
Very inspirational. I love that we are moving more towards lifting each other up and celebrating achievements from ladies in the past!
That is my wish too. TY!
I don’t recall hearing about IWD as a child, but according to your timeline it’s friarly new. One of the first themes was , “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights” we are seeing progress but it seems slow.
Did you read my post? It has been around since 1908-09
All woman are really stronger and fighter and Happy Woman’s day to all of the beautifully strong women across the world we deserve to be praised.
Amen to your feedback!
As always, your posts are filled with valuable and inspirational information! We women have made great strides but there is still a way to go. Thanks for this!
Absolutely, we have a way to go. Thank you!
I long for the day when we no longer have to fight for our equality because it’s just a given. Till then, we need to keep pushing forward.
Kenny, thank you and me too! I wait for the day when it will truly be a given. 🙂
All human beings are equal. Period. I don’t think we need to even say it out loud.
Yes, WE ARE!!! But, if that belief/idea was truly universal, we would not have these conversations right? That said, why would you even want to squash my freedom to express these issues? It’s one thing to say all humans are equal, it’s another to walk the talk … hmmm
Interestingly, the very few glib comments are coming from some folks of the male gender. I wonder why? Is this topic pushing a button because behind closed doors you’d rather we maintain the status quo? Do you really believe what you are saying? THEN STAND UP AND DEMAND THAT YOUR SISTERS GET EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK OR STFU! That is the equality we are discussing in my post which I suspect you didn’t read, right? 🙂
This was super enjoyable and informative post ! Us women are fighters and naturally strong beings !
Thank you. Sometimes being a woman can be really hard, it’s good to remember how strong we are too!
I am so inspired and encouraged by the strength of women. It’s incredibly frustrating that we still have to fight so hard for equality.
This is really inspirational to read. Thanks for sharing such an amazing post.
Such a great post! I’m proud to be a woman and I’m so glad that the global community is making us more honored and feel appreciated through those activities you shared.
I have been visiting a nearby city on the 8th of March and I have actually seen a march and a demonstration related to the generation equality. There were quite a lot of people gathered, including a lot of men, which was very nice to see.
Happy International Womens Day to everyone. Anyways, such a great quote you’ve shared. Thanks for that.
Womens Day is obviously an awesome day to celebrate with people who appreciate the day but in India……… It feels wierd that we women still have to fight for equal rights. As usual very inspirational.
I am so grateful to be born in a generation where I have seen equality in and out. I am glad that my parents and the people around taught us that all genders are equal. And that made me confident enough to stand against the things which are against gender equality like equal pay at work. This post is really amazing. I never sat down to research on the various themes of IWD but now I know the fight has been going on for generations
Being a boy mom, I feel like it is my unfailing responsibility to teach my son how to treat girls as equals. I believe it is here where the key lies because no girl should have to fight a boy for what’s rightfully hers.
It is pretty cool to see all of the different themes. Sad that there still has to be any at all still but there is still work to be done. 🙂
Great post, very informative!
I think it is a great initiative – did you know there is a day for men too 🙂
Great post! Never under estimate the power of women. Great content! Super high-quality! Keep it up! 🙂
Wonderful post with a wealth of info on International Women’s Day. I enjoyed all of the quotes by women and about women. Thank you for writing on the very important topic of equality. I’d like to say we’ve made progress, but only in some areas and for some people. Much more to do.
Thank you for showing how International Women’s Day has evolved over the years. I learned a lot reading the background.
Wow what a great post! I loved looking at the themes year over year. <3
Yes, I love reading them too to get a better picture of issues covered over the years.
Women rights are human rights, great motivational and inspirational post
Yes indeed and you stated one of my favorite Hilary Clinton quotes: women’s rights are human rights. 🙂
International women’s day is such an important day to celebrate. I think it reflects on how strong women are and how far we have come to overcome the adversity that used to placed upon us. I love this day!
Completely agreed.
Women are trailblazers! I am so happy we have our own month!
I concur… we are worthy. 🙂
Nice! Another amazing article from you. As usual I learned something new from it. Thanks a bunch! 🙂
Thank you Neil for you positive feedback.
Sadly I’m just learning about this wonderful day. I have no idea how I never knew about it. But I’m so thankful for this tradition and will celebrate yearly with my daughters!
Love is inspirational and motivational post! Thank you
I had no idea that International Women’s Day first started in 1909. Thanks for sharing these informational videos that helped me further my knowledge. It’s crazy to think that these issues like pay gaps and female genital mutilation were issues that we faced long ago, and these are still issues that women around the world are dealing with. I also love that in Berlin, International Women’s Day is a public holiday!
Happy belated international women’s day! Let’s support fellow women!
Equality and equity, both should go hand in hand while addressing gender gaps. Nice article.
There are so many countries in which women still don’t have rights. I was recently in Tanzania and I was shocked to learn that women have to ask their husband’s permission if they want to work. Also, there women are obliged to take care of the house and the children, whilst the man provides – and because of it, they do have control over their wives. It’s so sad… Marrying before the legal age is still widely practiced in the country as well.
Great post! Never under estimate the power of women.
my favorite one is “Where there is a woman, there is magic.”
I cant wait for the day where jobs are based on a person and their abilities rather than genitalia. What a wonderful day that will be.
I love that International Women’s Day is celebrated so widely now!
So beautiful to see all the things women have accomplished all in one place! Thanks for sharing how amazing women are.
Very impactful post. Thanks for sharing
This is awesome! I love everything related to motivating and empowering women! We’re a force to be reckoned with!
Great post cant cant believe we are still fighting for it
What a beautiful post. thanks for sharing 🙂
Thankfully I grew up around women who fought and still fight for women’s rights. It’s so important that the youth are taught equal rights. We as women need to stick together, lift each other up, and most importantly root for each other!
Us women are such powerful beings. Happy Women’s month to us !!!
Happy Women’s Month! Stay awesome.
So much valuable information! Thank you for sharing it with us!
It’s really sad that in 21st century we still have to fight for gender equality. Loved every bit of this post!
I’m all about women empowerment. This is such an inspiring post
So inspiring. I think it’s great that we move more to get up and celebrate women’s accomplishments in the past! I have also dedicated an article on international women’s day 2020 on my website The Educationist Hub to represents the strengths and role of women in the world.

Equality is the name of the game! Great post for Women’s Day!
It’s a well written and informative post on Women’s day. I am glad more women are now able to get their rights.
Gender equality is definitely required, but some people have taken the equality and empowerment topic to another direction which needs to be corrected.
Powerful and beautiful article. We all should be proud of us as a woman.
I agree it is important to practice political rights. We know through history that if you do not use it, you might lose it. Also, it seems unbelievable that we still need to fight for equal pay/rights in the workplace. Thank you for pointing out the importance of having a day dedicated to women.
Thanks so much for sharing! I absolutely love International women’s day and go on a run every year for an organization to celebrate this day.

Women is great, powerful and can do anything when she wants it to. We should be thankful having these women in our lives.
Wow, what a amazing article. also, you have discussed good point

Such an empowering post!! So many improvements to women’s equality!
Men and women can co-exist quite well together (too bad the men don’t realize it!). Thanks for writing about strong profiles.
I love the first quotation you have shares by Marie Curie. Women should always be confident and fearless in order to achieve their dreams and life goals.
Women are awesome! I salute all the strong and empowered women all over the world
Whenever I see women leaders, inventors, scholars, it makes me very proud. Though some country are still struggling to attain gender equality but I’m glad that it isn’t the majority. I live in a 3rd world country but we already had 2 presidents and there are women CEO’s who prove that we are very much capable of accomplishing great things.
I agree with you, all nation should encourage to treat both gender equally. Thank you for sharing it!
Such an important day to celebrate! Still have ways to go before we have equality, but progress is being made.
Loved reading the quotes . Yes we definitely need to celebrate women,s day but i think always as a recognition of them being our equal or rather we being their equal . The same as explained in the Hindu mythology of ARDHANARESWARA
It’s International Womens month and I really do hope that we continue to make strides towards more quality for women. It’s wild that as women we still have to experience certain setbacks and inequality, but we will definitely continue to break barriers.
Cheers to all the empowered women out there. Happy International Women’s month. We all deserve to be cherished.
Some days it feels like we are just going nowhere with the rights of women – it really is an ongoing fight.
I hate that we still need IWD in this day and age, but I’m so glad about the work it’s doing. We need equality for all!
Women’s equality is equality for all! I’m so inspired by this article and the empowering female leaders you featured. Great topic for this month.
Great post! Motivation even the word is so powerful!Right now i am gathering motivate to get healthy lifestyle.
this article was very empowering!! I really just felt amazing after this!!
It’s hard to believe we are still having to fight for equal rights for women. I’m so thankful to the women who have fought hard and continue to fight.
Where there is women, there is power! I love this quote. It’s been my source of inspiration these days
This is awesome! Proud to be a woman. It’s crazy we still have to fight for equal rights though.
It is super interesting that the woman’s day themes have run in so many directions.
So cool to see how far we’ve come as women but the work is definitely not done yet. I love reading all the different themes for international women’s day over the years.
Gender equality! 100% agree, we women can definitely do what men can so even more as they can’t get pregnant or give birth but just spread love 🙂

Happy International Women’s Day to you too. But we shouldn’t celebrate women only today but everyday and remember what we strive for.
