Jireh | Elevation Worship & Maverick City

Elevation Worship & Maverick City – JIREH (Lyrics)

This year, I faced many personal challenges, and with each one, I found grace and healing in my faith community and the people closest to me. Recently, I was home working on a writing piece on my computer when a song rose in my heart. I love to sing praise and worship songs throughout my day, but especially when I am driving. The song that rose was  Jireh. I added it below, along with a short interpretation of the full name and meaning of Jehovah Jireh: “The Lord will provide.” It was the perfect song to speak to my concerns and worries, and I contemplated how important it is to find comfort in our faith/beliefs/support systems, and how we need to stay open and listen to the small, still voice encouraging us to hold on. Listen to the contemporary worship song below or read the lyrics. May it speak to your heart too.

Jireh (derived from the Hebrew word Yireh) means “The Lord will provide” or “The Lord will see to it.” The term comes from Mount Moriah, where God tested Abraham and commanded him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Abraham was heartbroken but resolved to obey God’s command. He gathered the sacrificial items, took his son to Mount Moriah, bound him, and was about to complete the request when God stopped him in the 11th hour, providing a ram caught in a thicket instead. It symbolizes divine provision, faithfulness, and the core biblical theme of substitutionary sacrifice.

As parents/friends/community members, we make our own version of daily sacrifice through our commitments, and this story reminds us of the blessing and meaning behind our duty/dharma/daily responsibilities. For that I am grateful. See Jehovah-jireh or Adonai-jireh Wikipedia

“So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide (Jehovah-jireh). And to this day, it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14.

Overview Lyrics
I’ll never be more loved than I am right now
Wasn’t holding You up
So there’s nothing I can do to let You down
It doesn’t take a trophy to make You proud
I’ll never be more loved than I am right now, oh
Going through a storm but I won’t go down
I hear Your voice
Carried in the rhythm of the wind to call me out
You would cross an ocean so I wouldn’t drown
You’ve never been closer than You are right now
(Let’s sing it loud y’all)
You are Jireh, You are enough
Jireh, You are enough
And I will be content in every circumstance
You are Jireh, You are enough
Forever enough
Always enough
More than enough
Forever enough
Always enough
More than enough
I don’t wanna forget how I feel right now
On the mountaintop
I can see so clearly what it’s all about
So stay by my side when the sun goes down
Don’t wanna forget how I feel right now (Jireh)
Jireh, You are enough
Jireh, You are enough (so I will be)
I will be content in every circumstance
Jireh, You are enough (He is always enough)
He’s forever enough
Always enough
Always more than enough
He is, He is
Forever enough
Always enough (He’s everything, He’s always)
More than enough (yeah)
I’m already loved
I’m already chosen
I know who I am
I know what You’ve spoken
I’m already loved
More than I could imagine
And that is enough, oh-oh
I’m already loved (I’m already loved)
I’m already chosen (I’m already chosen)
I know who I am (I know who I am)
I know what You’ve spoken (I know what You’ve spoken)
I’m already loved (I’m already loved)
More than I could imagine (more than I could imagine)
That is enough (that is enough)
It’s enough for me, oh
I’m already loved (I’m already loved)
I’m already chosen (I’m already chosen)
I know who I am (I know who I am)
I know, I know what You’ve spoken (I know what You’ve spoken)
I’m already loved (I’m already loved)
More than I could even fathom (more than I could imagine)
And that is enough (and that is enough)
Yes it is, it’s enough, it’s enough
And that is enough (that is enough)
What His truth says is better than anything
That is enough (that is enough)
What He’s declared over us, it’s true
That is enough (that is enough)
That is enough (that is enough)
That is enough (that is enough)
Jehovah, You are (that is enough)
El Shaddai, You are (that is enough)
When I have You, I have everything (that is enough)
When I have Jesus, I have everything (that is enough)
That is enough (that is enough)
‘Cause You are enough (You are enough)
You’re my portion (You are enough)
You’re my portion (You are enough)
More than enough for me (You are enough)
Say, You are enough (You are enough)
So I am enough (so I am enough)
You are enough (You are enough)
So I am enough (so I am enough)
Say, Jireh
Jireh, You are enough (Jireh)
Jireh, You are enough (yes You are)
I will be content in every circumstance
Jireh, You are enough, oh-ooh (You are)
If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor
How much more will He clothe you?
How much more will He clothe you?
If He watched over every sparrow
How much more does He love you?
How much more does He love you?
If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor
How much more will He clothe you?
How much more will He clothe you?
If He watched over every sparrow
How much more does He love you?
How much more does He love you?
If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor
How much more will He clothe you?
How much more will He clothe you?
If He watched over every sparrow (don’t you worry!)
How much more does He love you? (Our Father loves you)
How much more does He love you? (How much more?)
How much more does He love you? (How much more?)
How much more does He love you? (How much more?)
How much more does He love you? (How much more?)
How much more does He love you? (How much more?)
How much more does He love you?
It’s more than you ask, think, or imagine
According to His power working in us
It’s more than enough
It’s more than you ask, think, or imagine, oh yeah
According to His power working in us
It’s more than enough (let’s go y’all)
It’s more than you ask, think, or imagine (so according)
According to His power, it’s working in us (how much more does He love you?)
It’s more than enough (how much more? Sing!)
More than you ask, think or imagine (so according)
According to His power working in us (how much more does He love you?)
It’s more than enough (one more time, sing!)
More than you ask, think or imagine
According to His power working in us (how much more does He love you?)
It’s more than enough (how much more?)
It’s more than enough (how much more?)
More than you know (more than enough)
It’s more than enough (more than you know)
More than you know (more)
Jireh, You are enough
Jireh, You are enough (You’ve always been enough)
And I will be content in every circumstance
Jireh, You are enough
And I will be content (yes) in every circumstance
Jireh, You are enough

The Blessing with Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes | Live From Elevation Ballantyne | Elevation Worship

After I wrote the first half of this post, I decided to add another popular worship song that always moves me when I listen to it or sing it. The first time I heard Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes sing “The Blessing,” I stopped in my tracks because it’s partly taken from the Book of Numbers, the fourth book of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible. It is also the fourth book of the Hebrew Bible (Torah or Pentateuch). Kari and Cody wove those words into a beautiful, rich song filled with promise for our families for generations to come. It’s become one of my favorites to listen to when things get tough, and I struggle to make sense of life’s challenges.

It reminds us that our blessings are generational and that our actions can reverberate, carrying the goodness we do/share for generations. So every effort we make on this planet has a purpose. It can be large or small, yet effective, and as long as we hold onto hope and keep making even the tiniest effort, our condition will shift incrementally because our mental attitude will shift. Our blessing carries over to our loved ones, our friends, our community, and beyond. I hope you take a moment to listen to the song or read the lyrics. The Blessing is truly a gift to us all, free of dogma or limiting belief, and we can receive it with open hearts and minds.

Bridge 1: Kari Jobe, Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes]
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children

[Bridge 2: Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes]
May His presence go before you
And behind you and beside you
All around you and within you
He is with you, He is with you
In the morning, in the evening
In your coming and your going
In your weeping and rejoicing
He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you

[Chorus: Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes]
(Amen)
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen

[Outro: Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe]
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His presence go before you
And behind you and beside you
All around you and within you
He is with you, He is with you
In the morning, in the evening
In your coming and your going
In your weeping and rejoicing
He is for you, He is for you
Oh, oh-oh, oh
He is for you
Oh-ohh
