I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something. Neil Gaiman
Can you believe the year is finally coming to a close? It seems like only a blink of an eye ago when we were celebrating the start of 2017. It was a year that held great hope and promise for many and yet, it served up its share of pain and misery. Through all the challenges, we marched on, demanding to be heard, asserting our rights, mourning the loss of many great ones, and sharing MeToo stories. By the time some of you read this, it wold probably be 2018 in your part of the world. It is still 2017 in my neck of the woods and I am savoring every last minute of this year. I wanted to end 2017 with a post. It’s a post to say Thank YOU for all the experiences that sharpened us, emboldened many and set the stage for a better, braver year ahead. Above is a video that speaks to the heart of how I felt about the year and, hopefully, we can all take some wisdom from the message and get on with the fine art of living and showing kindness to our fellow men/women. Since the teachings of others can offer much wisdom, I have included a selection of my favorite quotes to help us along as we wrap up 2017 and welcome another year… Hurray to 2018!

Year’s end, all corners of this floating world, swept. Matsuo Basho
What the caterpillar calls the end of the world the master calls a butterfly. Richard Bach
As the old year retires and a new one is born, we commit into the hands of our Creator the happenings of the past year and ask for direction and guidance in the new one. May He grant us His grace, His tranquility and His wisdom! Peggy Toney Horton
What has stood out most in my mind? To stop sweating the small, petty stuff and be grateful for those special serendipitous moments that show up in our lives. There have been some very hard times, some health challenges, and some very sweet miraculous events. The miracles reminded me that we are never alone in our struggles, and that the more we believe, the more the gifts are revealed. I showed up for my life this year and stayed the course in going to the gym and getting fit. For that I am proud. I also spent much needed quality time with friends and my large, extended family. Even though there were some health issues, I pushed through and continue to heal. There has been much to teach one about humility and I am grateful for those lessons. The grace of living life with gratitude is to see the doors opening as we walk towards them. The gift of a life well lived is to remember others and their needs. For 2018, I wish you all peace, love, and abundant blessings. Leave the old wounds, slights and worries at your doorstep and trust that the new year will bring great gifts and opportunities for growth. Upwards and Onwards! Good Bye 2017 and Welcome 2018!
Thank you All for the wonderful support you’ve given me this year. I would not have stayed the course without your loving feedback and encouragement. May the coming year be fruitful and productive for all of us. What are your thoughts? How did you spend New Year’s Eve? What do you wish for 2018? Do share! Thank you.

What a beautiful post this is. 2017 was another year that has shaped me though pain, cheers, love, and fears. During my trails I stayed focus and made it through to the other side. I am so thank for all the encouragement and support that certainly help me along the way. Just like with 2016 I’m leaving the bad and holding on to the good of 2017, including the start of my blog.

2017 flew by so quickly and it was a fantastic year! I decided to start 2018 out by going to sleep by 9 and getting a good nights sleep. 2018 will be the year of not sweeting the small stuff and not wasting time on “junk thoughts”! Happy New Year!

The years always fly by – and it seems the older I get, the fast it flies. I’m glad you enjoyed your time with friends and hope that you experience fewer health issues. May this year be better than all the preceding years.
Happy New Year! 🙂
2017 just started to come alive for me when it ended. I look forward to the new year and hope that it doesn’t fly by as fast at 17 did. I think the big thing I learned in 2017 is that not everything comes at lighting speed.
Seasons Blessings!:)

2018 was full of changes for me and my family. We moved, started new jobs and I started my blog. We also had some very challenging times but we are certainly stronger as a family. I am hoping to do a reset in 2018. I am anticipating new and greater for our lives. I am expecting an abundance of blessings this year!
Seasons Blessings!:)
The past year was definitely challenging. Before December rolled in, I lost my precious fur baby and it was devastating. Our hearts were broken throughout the month and it wasn’t an easy feat. I am looking forward to the year ahead and the joys it will bring. Happy new year!
Seasons Blessings!:)
What stands out the most for this past year are glimpses of family, my kids, hugs, and lots of sweat equity put in for work. All in all, I am grateful for the souls whose path I crossed and for the many blessings our connections bring. ❤️ Much love to you! 😘 grateful for your inspiration 💞
Happy New Year! 🙂

2017 was a relatively good year for me, however, towards the end of the year, family members fell ill and needed to stay in the hospital. I am hoping for the best this 2018, healthwise for me and my family. Wishing you a great new year, Elizabeth. Looking forward to more inspiring posts from you.
Seasons Blessings!:)
It’s good to be grateful for all that one has. Nice to see that petty things have stopped bothering you. Wishing you an amazing 2018. Cheers!!

Blessings to you too!
2017 was a year of exponential growth and a regaining of stability for me. I am hoping to improve upon that in 2018 with one huge goal left yet to complete. 🙂 I do love to see inspiring quotes. Thank you for sharing.
I concur that 2017 went by really fast… unbelievably fast. I haven’t reflected on 2017.. but I think I should!! Happy New Year
You’re always full of such positivity!
Happy New Year! May 2018 be everything you hope for it to be, and more!
Happy New Year! Likewise. 🙂
I love the quote by Richard Bach! Caterpillars/butterflies are such a beautiful example of rebirth and renewal! Happy 2018!
Same here. TY!
2017 was not so great but I am still thankful for everything that happened. I am looking forward to 2018 a much better year.
Amen
It’s hard, but stopping sweating the small stuff is a major goal of mine.
You’ll get there…
It is hard to believe we are already in January. It just seems like it was yesterday that it was summer. The time has gone by fast… I can not believe it.
I’m looking forward to summer! 🙂
It looks like you’ve had a super eventful 2017!! I hope your new year is amazing and filled with endless happiness and adventure! 🙂
I wish you more! 🙂
I love all the photos! You did well last 2017! I know 2018 will be a much bigger year for you.
Amen to that and same for you!
2017 definitely just flew by for me…. I can’t believe it’s already gone but I look forward to the blessings of a new year! I wish you a very happy new year!
Likewise!
I love the idea of not sweating the small things. I have added that to my list of positive outlooks for 2018. I spend New Year Eve with my loving husband, watching movies, while the children stayed up as late as possible with their cousins to watch the ball drop. It was nice and fun. I am grateful for all the possibilities for 2018.
I’m grateful for the possibilities too.
Really enjoyed reading this post. Such a great way to say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018. My new years resolution was also to not let small unimportant issues get to me and think of the big picture – I get stressed out far too easily and I know that – so that’s what I want to work on for 2018 (along with eating healthy and exercising more of course). I hope 2018 is good to you!
May we find our way with clarity this year!
total agree to stop sweating the small stuff and yes 2017 went super fast for me too. I hope 2018 slows down a tad!
It would be nice
I feel like this last year I started to stop worrying so much about the little things as well… As time goes by and we grow as people and find maturity we start seeing things for what truly matters 🙂
That is true…
We should be looking to each year with positivism, I agree on that. We should see the good things that happened and not the bad ones. I promised myself at the beginning of 2017 that I will say yes more this year and don’t miss opportunities. And for most of it, I did it.
Yes and yes to all good things this year!
Great way to hv a reflection of the whole year.. lovely post.. Like it very much!
Thank you!
As for being happy, I am constantly depressed, clinically depressed. My happy moments come from contemplating about what I have and how much less some others have. What life has given me and what I am thankful for such as heat and even air conditioning. Inside plumbing, hot and cold water. In some countries the water comes out warm and costs to get cold just for an example. I always find some nugget of inspiration in your posts.
Thank you for your inspiring feedback… You inspire me with your compassionate heart always. <3
