A simple celebration, a gathering of friends; here is wishing you great happiness, a joy that never ends. Zahid Abas
I’m a really, really optimistic and really, really positive person. My main thing is, ‘Enjoy life. Celebrate life.’ Luke Bryan
Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let’s not be afraid to receive each day’s surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity. Henri Nouwen
Life is a Celebration, don’t let it pass you by. As promised, I’m continuing the photo challenges by looking through the 2013 archives. I was quite sick that year and spent time in and out of the hospital so it holds special meaning to me. Thank God I’m better now. The theme for June 7 2013 was Fleeting which is quite appropriate for the photos and thoughts I’m sharing here. Life is so fleeting that we should celebrate each moment we spend here and rejoice for every breath we take. So many of us wait and wait for all sorts of reasons; retirement, happiness, love, money and on and on … we forget to celebrate the good we have now. Please go out and join your friends and family and celebrate the life you have. It is precious. Today, June 7, is Prince Roger Nelson’s and Swae Lee’s birthday. I love their music and creative spirit so I’m sharing their music with you. It’s also Susannah’s special day. She is a colleague and yoga enthusiast so I wish her much love too. Wish them and everyone you know a very Happy Birthday!❤
UPDATE: Happy June 8th Birthday blessings to one of my best friends, Diahann, to Kanye West and the hugely funny Joan Rivers.❤

There is no success you can celebrate more than the success of a brother. Diego Luna
Celebrate life in all its glory – challenge yourself to let the routine sing, and the new dance. Maximillian Degenerez
We all have life storms, and when we get the rough times and we recover from them, we should celebrate that we got through it. No matter how bad it may seem, there’s always something beautiful that you can find. Mattie Stepanek
Time is fleeting. What are you waiting for? If not now, when? We often waste time on petty BS that we miss the special moments we can spend wishing each other well. Lift each other up. Power glide into your life and enjoy what you have. I think it is very important to celebrate your struggles, failures, and successes every day. Why? Because our struggles remind us to keep the faith. Our failures remind us to stay humble, and our successes inspire us and remind us to spread the joy and share our largess. Please lets all stop and show love to ourselves and others… and remember that even when the grass looks greener on the other side, envy is stupid, everyone is struggling with their own life challenges. Compassion and genuine concern are imperative.
Suicide Is an Epidemic. Celebrate Life by Encouraging those in Need of Mental Health Support: Given the events of the last several days, I cannot remain quiet on a topic that is stigmatized in societies across the globe. As many of you might know, fashion designer, Kate Spade, and Food connoisseur/writer/documentarian, Anthony Bourdain, died from suicide this week. Suicide is a subject that impacts all of us either directly or indirectly, and the underlying mental health issues that lead so many down that road persists. As a member of the blogging community, I’ve written about the loss of a young man who was a son to me, and about my own struggle. Many others in our community have written about it too. Depression and the many other manifestations of mental health conditions affect so many and it has nothing to do with being weak minded, selfish or self serving as some insensitive, thoughtless jerks have purported on the internet. It is NOT a character defect. It is real and those who suffer are like YOU and ME. Some of the most brilliant minds and talented folks have suffered through that black hole and, sadly, some couldn’t avoid falling into that dark hole and taking their own life to end the pain. My heart goes out to the friends and families of all who have lost a loved one to suicide.

We think there is endless time to live but we never know which moment is last. So share, care, love, and celebrate every moment of life. Anonymous
Anniversaries are like birthdays: occasions to celebrate and to think ahead, usually among friends with whom one shares not only the past but also the future. Zbigniew Brzezinski
I feel like our culture is so good at pulling other people down and being so judgmental, but there’s space for all of us to be who we are. There’s space for us to celebrate each other and root for each other and not take each other down. Tracee Ellis Ross
Celebrate your struggles, failures and successes every day. I’ve been on a fast this week and with it has come some clarity about my life and also insights about my inner chatter. It’s fascinating how much chatter goes on inside our heads and how they impact the life we live in the world. A great teacher of mine used to say that we should make friends with our mind because it has tremendous power and energy that could be both constructive and destructive. The more we focus on good, the more we experience it. The more we focus on things that don’t elevate us, the more we have that experience too. Of course, from a philosophical standpoint, I get that we live in a world that is a balance of good and evil and we need both to understand and appreciate the good. Perhaps, we can put more energy into the hard work of making the most of our talents and gifts and share them without fear of reprisals. That said, I love the beat above. Life is hard work and I woke up hearing the refrain in my head; it gave me good food for thought… more later
This post was inspired by a June 7 2013 prompt from WP Daily Post: – FLEETING – SHARE A PICTURE THAT MEANS FLEETING TO YOU. Some ideas to get you started: Observing nature and capturing a quiet, special moment. Experimenting with shots of movement.Taking a snapshot of someone deep in thought (or alternatively, in mid-action). Exploring a place that’s transient in nature (airports, stations, streets, etc.). We think this theme is open to many interpretations and look forward to seeing what you come up with. and Writing Challenge: RSVP Plan the ultimate celebration for the person you’re closest to, and tell us about it. Where is it? Who’s there? What’s served? What happens?
Positive Motivation Tip: Celebrate the life you have now. Don’t waste time dreaming about the past or what might be. Start the delightful celebrations of your life now.

I love the photo’s as always and today the music. I hear that the time is fleeting, it’s going by at an outrageous speed. I must do something before the lord calls me home and I have spent the last half of my life inside. Tomorrow I will go outside, even though it will only be to my porch it will be outside for the first time in months. That I will celebrate.
That would be wonderful. Sending happy vibes your way! 🙂
Lovely photos and lovely way of celebrating life. You’re right that life won’t wait for us so let’s not miss it
I love all of these happy and colorful photos! Totally agree that you have to cherish life and try to enjoy every day.
This is such a great post and I love this quote by Oprah saying “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate”. For me, we should celebrate life no matter how hard the obstacles that we are facing.
What beautiful and inspiring photos you have taken! These images really do depict the celebration of life.
We should definitely celebrate life as much as we can. Life is so short and we should make the most of every season of our lives.
Time slows down an awful lot when i’m Sitting at work. That’s okay b/c i love what I do. I love a good party too so bring on the weekend. Happy celebrating!
What interesting photos. Modern art statutes are definitely hit or miss for me. I do like the music though:)
This is a post that needs to be shared daily with people. We all need the reminder that life is to be celebrated and do what makes us happy, and creating a bright future. Beautiful images to highlight the value of life to 🙂
I love the people dancing statues next to the giraffes, beautiful juxtaposition!
I’m so glad that you are continuing the photo challenge. I enjoy seeing your photos and reading your thoughts on them. I think it is important to remember to celebrate the everyday as well as the great triumphs in our lives. Everyday is a gift.
This is a wonderful challenge. We often wait for tragedy in order to fully celebrate life.
The content was worth reading and pictures used are wonderful.
Your photos and words are full of inspiration and I can see through them your will to celebrate life every moment!
Time is flying and we only live once. So for the beautiful memories we make in life, we should definitely celebrate them. And for our fears, struggles and failures, we should embrace them and let them be our drivers to living a better and celebrated life.
I was devastated to hear the news of Anthony Bourdain’s passing. I did not want to believe it until I actually saw the news on CNN. 🙁
This is such an important topic. I wish society would destigmatize mental health before it becomes a suicide. We still have so far to go, but bravo to you for doing your part!
Time really is precious, and you never know when yours is up. It is very important to cherish every moment, make memories, and live in the moments you have left.
Life indeed should be celebrated. I am really liking this celebration for life post. I feel like i keep seeing RIPs all over and it so sad. Life is so precious.
Great photos, I definitely believe in celebrating life and making the most of every day. It’s especially poignant to remember when you are looking back at harder times in your life.
Depression is a big problem currently, I was shocked to hear about Kate Spade as well! I always find motivation in your posts, which is very necessary to me theses days. Thank you very much for the support!
i agree with points you made, it is essential to celebrate your successes, failures and struggles everyday 🙂 i love the images you shared <3
Such a wonderful reminder that life is worth living and that we should celebrate every moment as we go along. It breaks my heart to hear the news this past week about Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Life is indeed challenging, but that’s also why it’s worth it, because we learn so much from the experiences that we go through and end up being wiser.
Your posts are so insightful and always leave me reflecting on my life. This time I am intrigued by the statements you made about being friends with your own mind. That is such an direction solution to living with anxiety and depression too.
I’m so sorry you were sick during that year but I am glad you are all better now. Its SO important to celebrate life, we can get weighed down with every day things and often forget just how good we’ve got it. I always say little thank yous during my day for all the blessings I have in my life.
Life IS definitely something to celebrate. And you are right about suicide. It’s such a shame all of the ones that have been in the news lately. 🙁
Celebrate life – a simple, beautiful and meaningful reminder.
I am glad you mentioned mental health and suicide as we all need to me more open minded and aware that this happens to all of us not just celebrities. With all the support that exists today, people need reminding they are never alone.
How beautiful this post is, it gives such a jolly feel. Indeed life is beautiful, what we must do is celebrate it in every small possible manner!
These are the perfect photos for celebrate life. I love to celebrate life every day. I live each moment, thankful to be here.
I am always touched and inspired by your post. I love reading your articles as it brings back or remind me of sometimes things that I often forgotten because of a busy sched. Thank you.
You do need to encourage the people out there suffering from mental health issues. They can be so debilitating. But knowing someone cares is so very important.
What an inspiring post! I always love to take moments outside and sit on the grass to get the suns rays beaming upon on me, meditating and finding strength through all of my struggles. Amazing post thank you for this xx
Thanks for another amazing post. I agree with you that we should indeed be celebrating life, celebrating your struggles, failures and successes every day. Hope you have a great day!
Last week was such a heavy one. It’s amazing how public figures can become personal to us in some ways. Love that the focus of this post is on celebrating life – so timely and good reminder to focus on the positive and beauty of the life we each have.
Oh, I agree. We can’t waste our life being stress, fearful, or doubting ourselves. There is so much to experience, so much to learn, and so much to share with the world. Thanks for the reminder.
Both suicides brought me to that realization that I need not be overwhelmed by whatever it is that is bothering me. It was still a hard pill to swallow. My their souls find peace!
I love the pictures captured. And the content and motive behind is sending good vibes.
We’ve lost so much people just this last week and it’s heartbreaking. Life is challenging and sometimes it feels as if we’re sinking towards the bottom no matter what we do but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any good things in our life that’s worth celebrating. This is such a wonderful message!
You are so right about life being a celebration and I love how your photos really mark this celebration in such a special way. Keep up the great work!
Time and life is fleeting indeed, sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the day to day and not appreciate the amazing life and love that surrounds us all.
PS: love the music videos, I took some time to have a mini dance party in my living room. Enjoy the little things!
Happy to hear that you are better now!! Also amazing you can look back at 2013 fondly and see the good from your time of being sick.
Your photos are always amazing! Man… there are so many birthdays for this month! Who would’ve knew! I definitely agree with the time fleeting… which is why we should always do the things that we feel are our destiny and makes us happy. Such an emotional topic during this time but so needed!
Lovely photos and I agree on this “the most beautiful things are not associated with money; they are memories and moments”
Life is a such a joy … It is an experience … if one has the means and a healthy body should definitely enjoy and celebrate each moment.
Sometimes I have trouble living in the moment. Your post reminded me to be thankful for every day!
Great choice for the song! Do you have any idea where that dancing statue is? It’s really interesting. 🙂
As always, I love your photos! The one with the people holding lollipops just makes me smile!!
Love these photos, Elizabeth! My sentiment about life and celebration is similar to yours. For me, life is truly a privilege and in all I do, I rejoice. ❤️ xo, Evelyn, PathofPresence
Alek Wek is one of my favorite models. She is so profound and full of thoughtful quotes. When I read her words, “The most beautiful things are not associated with money; they are memories and moments. If you don’t celebrate those, they can pass you by,” I was comforted.
Yes, life is one big celebration if you ask me! I always believe in celebrating all small and big things in life, after all its about the journey.
Always great advice from you. I am doing my best to worry about the future, things that are beyond our control. The only thing I have is now. And I am good with that.
While I often look back at old photos and reminisce fondly, I totally agree with everything you’ve said here Elizabeth. I shouldn’t day dream about the past and should live for the here and now x
These photos are so beautiful! They talk so much about happiness and life.
There is so much in life worth celebrating. A new dawn, dewdrops, a little bird chirping.. our world is filled with beauty waiting to be appreciated. Why sweat on the useless stuff and fill our minds with worry? Life is short. Spread love and kindness while we can, and always remember to be grateful for the blessings we receive everyday.
I totally agree that memories are made with moments not money. Sometimes we overlook these previous moments that happen in everyday life and let them pass by . We should pay more attention to these magical moments.
No matter how mundane some days may be, I believe that every moment of life should be cherished. It passes by so quickly!
What an important post especially during this time. I’ve felt so heartbroken over the passings of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. There is so much life to live and so little time to do it. I used to dwell a lot on the past but as I get close to 30, I’m spending my time embracing the present and looking forward to the future and all it’s possibilities.
One of my girlfriends met with a deadly accident accident last year and doctors had lost all the hopes to save her. Fortunately, she’s a fighter and made it! Since then, we have started celebrating every year of our lives and thanking God for all his blessings!
I just love the way that you celebrate life with the pictures here. Life in all of it’s various forms. With so many people willing to end it all, it’s good to see the beauty of life out there.
It’s so important to celebrate things in life that are milestones or that matter to your family.
ur are so right time is flying and we keep looking forward for the nest day forgetting to enjoy the current one ! wonderful post darling , thank you for the happy vibes
I love the theme of this photo challenge and the pictures when really beautiful . Loved reading your article as well. Life needs to be celebrated and lived happily .
We celebrate life every single day. Wonderful to capture the life moments in photos. Love what you have taken and they look like fun places you have seen.
life is something that we should celebrate. Everyday of ourlives is a blessing. Each day gives us a reason to celebrate.
I believe it’s so important to celebrate life each day. It hurts my heart to see so many people struggling with their mental health. We may struggle, but like you said, the struggles and the strength to pull through them deserve a celebration.
You are on to a winner here with that fab shoplifting music, which I currently have on repeat here in the office this Monday. Great images as always too.
I really like the quotes here. Life is too short to not make the most of it. We should all celebrate even the little things.
Life is a funny place, I’ve not been around too long, but I’ve figured out that life is what you make of it, as bad as it may be, we must choose to be positive and understand that life is fleeting after all we won’t be here forever..Being here is a huge and rare privilege, We have to make the most of our time here
Life is short. I try to make the most of it by serving people, pursuing my dreams, trusting God and trying to be kind.
What an amazing post. Making friends with the mind is the best thing I have read in last few days, thank you for the motivation. The more we focus on good, the more it comes to us, I absolutely agree with it.
It’s great that you are continuing on the photo challenge. Your pictures are beautiful I love the range that goes with the words. It’s interesting to see peoples interpretations.
This is why I maintain an Instagram account. To capture the greatest moments of my life worth celebrating 🙂
I love this celebrating life series! Indeed there are so many reasons to be thankful for in life. Great collection! 😀
Having this life is a blessing and a gift. No matter how challenging it is, be thankful!
Really interesting post and wonderful photo’s. Thumbs up for this my dear.
Life is definitely something to be celebrated! And I love the photos you chose to go along with your thoughts.
Thank you for the inspiring message. Gorgeous pictures and I love the music as well!
It’s never nice to be sick, but it sure does make us appreciate when we’re healthy, even years later. Hurrah for good health. And yes, time is fleeting and I waste so much of it. Now’s as good a time as any to reevaluate that and make a change.
I love going back and looking over older photos. Brings back memories and gives me new ideas at the same time.
It is so important to celebrate life, to remain positive in times of struggle. Life goes by so quickly , we need to appreciate it and all it has to offer. Such gorgeous pictures.
Our family has been plagued by illness since day 1 this year. It just saddens me that we have to deal with this. My mom, my husband, my sister, my niece were all admitted to the hospital within the first 11 weeks of this year! Since then, I always make time to be with them, ask them how they are, and just enjoy every bit of smiles and laughter with them. Praying that the remainder of this year will see them recovering from their illnesses.
Well needed positivity after all the sadness that’s been happening round the world
We should all be grateful for our lives and we should all rejoice and appreciate our lives and be grateful for it.
I love this sentiment. I’m trying at the moment to be more present, mindful and grateful for my life now, rather than worrying about the future
I often spend too much time planning for the future or waxing nostalgic about the past. I am trying hard to live more in the moment and enjoy the life I have right now!
It is so true that so many of us seem to focus on the negatives and get caught up in what went wrong in the day, rather than what went right and what we have to be thankful for. If more of us focused on the positives, that outlook would by its very nature, attract more positives and we would end up being happier as a result. If only more people realised this, what a much nicer world it would be – and therefore it really is up to each one of us to do our bit to be positive and celebrate life.
Everyday i’m trying to live life to the fullest. Very similar to this quote, “Celebrate the life you have now. Don’t waste time dreaming about the past or what might be. Start the delightful celebrations of your life now.”
The photos are wonderful as always. And enjoying life is very much neccesary before you go back to dust.
It’s quite difficult to celebrate when you’re going through rough time i your life but I agree with those words!
Life is definitely a celebration and we should cherish every single moment…
If there is something I have learnt is to celebrate life each day …whats meant to happen will happen. Love your post.. Lots of positivity
I always make it a point to appreciate all the little things around me. When I was young, I chased after the big stuff, but now that I am older (and a bit wiser), I learned that happiness is in the small things – a single tiny flower growing between the cracks in the concrete, a light rain, a “not so perfect” looking cake, etc. Thanks for the reminder to celebrate life. We’ve only got one to live and we must make the most out of it.
I love celebrating life everyday! It’s so important to be grateful for the day to day little blessings.
I love this write up and some facts more especially from Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp “Life is too short not to celebrate nice moments!” great pictures and videos. I enjoyed the video by prince
I do love this post encouraging us to celebrate life no matter how circumstances are, no matter how hard it is and no matter how heavy the problem you are facing right now. We should choose to celebrate instead of murmuring and whining because God gave this life for us not for suffering but for us to celebrate it with Him.
I love the message today. Yes, I am also celebrating life in my own way. I had a bad today but well, it’s just one day. So life is still good.
Celebrating life is so important and such a nice thing to celebrate. Lovely photos x
I love the message here. We need to celebrate our life and what we do have some more.
It’s easy to get caught up in the past (depression) and the future (anxiety) when the only moment we really have is right. now. this. moment. It sounds so simple but can be the hardest thing to stay present. Thanks for the reminder!
I enjoyed this post. The Jimi Hendricks song is one of my favorites. When you wrote “I think it is very important to celebrate your struggles, failures, and successes every day, ” the quote is very inspiring.
These photos are so inspiring! I love that statue and the quote along with it is perfect. -Tonya Tardiff
I absolutely loved the message in the post. It’s all about living now, in the moment. Why kill it by thinking about the past or the future
I really love the celebrate life photos here. They are just so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your creativity in life and in art.
What a womderful post on celebrating life!! My favorite was the opraph woke about praising your left. It really is so true
Prince’s song is such a nice touch at the beginning of the post. I always appreciate your articles because they make me stop and think about important topics.
“Celebrate your struggles, failures and successes every day.” is such an important lesson in life.
“Celebrate each day as if it’s your last” is what I’m taking away from your very inspirational post. I love all the quotes especially from Henri Nouwen. I know I have not been very social lately and I need to change that.
Lovely photos and inspiring quote to live every moment of life happily and celebrate it to the fullest 🙂
Really a great inspiring post 🙂 Everyday is new opportunity to start a beautiful day
These are some great photos. Life passes us by pretty quickly and so it’s important to make the most of the time we have with the people we love.
Thank you for this post. Sometimes I need someone to remind me that I should be grateful for this life. Despite many problems, life is still beautiful.
Wow love the photos, Life is definitely a gift we should always celebrate and be grateful for!
I sometimes forget to celebrate the life i have now, and am always looking for the next thing to do and look forward to and achieve. Thanks for reminding me we need to focus on the now
Amazing Pictures…. 🙂 Nice article …. Thanks for sharing…
Fab photos! I love looking back through mine – they bring back such wonderful memories! We should definitely all remember to celebrate life more often…
