Haiku: The Oasis Within…

What are your thoughts? What do you do to connect to that place within? Do you have advice to offer on ways to strengthen our inner sanctuary? Do share! Thank you. 🙂
This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Daily Prompt: Oasis A sanctuary is a place you can escape to, to catch your breath and remember who you are. Write about the place you go to when everything is a bit too much.
*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting…I’m back on track; albeit at a slow pace. Thank you all for your patience! 🙂
Positive Motivation Tip: When our inner life becomes a sanctuary of peace and love, our outer space will reflect same… Seek the oasis within.

Very well written,,, 🙂
“Even if we escape to a secluded island, a secret hideout or a private sanctuary, we take our inner noise and stress with us” – so right said i mine eyes.
“We need to digest food before we leave the table
or at least had finished chewing”… 🙂
My oases they are in the middle of “chaos” otherwise moved track, I think – I think most believe that we must get away for get things at a distance – but is it what’s really happening ..?
Ledraknoir TY! I agree with you that we need to digest what’s in front of us before jumping to the next thing… and best of all that taking a retreat is not enough if we don’t let go of the noise and do the inner work… TY! 🙂
My escape is a shore with the deep blue ocean as far as I can see. If I take my stress there, I will cast it into the sea. Love these quotes.
Beautifully said Angelia… I can see that steady sea of calm as I write.. a calming place to be. TY! 🙂
Beautiful post, Elizabeth.
Naomi dear one, TY so much! I know this might sound odd to some people but I write what I need to learn too… and the inspiration comes when I pray for answers. TY! 🙂
I so understand that. I see that in the storytelling world, the stories that choose us as much as we choose them.
True… It does happen a lot. TY! 🙂
Beautiful post and thank you for linking to my oasis post.
TY for commenting on mine… I will visit and reciprocate as soon as I’m caught up… That flu bug knocked me for a loop. 🙂
Green tea with honey and lemon would have been my parents advice.
TY! 🙂
A sanctuary of the mind sounds lovely. I usually just say a prayer.
Prayer is calming and adds to that feeling of inner peace… Karen TY for your patience… will visit soon. Hope all is well? TY! 🙂
This is wonderful, Liz!
TY so much Dianne! 🙂 It was a wonderful meditation… 🙂
The Oasis within is a wonderful concept. Love that peaceful scene, Elizabeth. 🙂
TY Adin… It is a place I’d like to visit often. Happy weekend to you! 😉
Beautiful post and description of serenity…the oasis within. Prayer, reflection and meditation.
TY! Yes… you covered them all… 🙂
What a perfect seven syllable line for a haiku. You could edit a book of poetry that requires everyone to use that middle line.
hitting rock bottom
seek the Oasis within
sip the gratitude
I love your contribution…Perfect! And I am putting that book of haiku together. TY! 🙂
I escape into my own head. I do a tremendous amount of self talk to stay focused and at peace. 🙂
I do too and with prayer and meditation, I find my center… TY! 🙂
Love this, very serene!
TY… After I wrote it, I took a nap. 🙂
Even when everything around me sounds and looks crazy, I take a moment to just close my eyes, take a deep breath and imagine somewhere peaceful, then when I open my eyes, it felt that I did find my peace. May not last that long but it does help me at that very moment. “Amid the Chaos
Seek the Oasis Within…
Peace… tune in, not out…” Beautiful post and images. Thank you.
TY IT and yes, I do same sometimes. It really helps calm the spirit and refocus our day. TY! 🙂
The oasis within. I like that.
I write on my husband’s computer in the lounge in the mornings, where I blog; and upstairs in bed in the evening, where I write poetry. I am after my own little oasis in this house 🙂
I hear you and can relate to finding suitable spots… I don’t write downstairs as it’s too cold and I’m not comfortable writing in bed as, sooner or later, my back hurts… so I write at a table facing the trees… Minimal distraction except from the cat. 😆
It is so true. Oasis and serenity comes from within us. I am still learning the meaning of the word vacation, as I have dragged all of my stresses with me on my time off. You have beautiful pictures in this post. They really added a sense of calm as I read.
TY and I can relate to what you shared… I need a vacation from the mind too… 🙂
Beautiful thoughts and photos. Jake’s theme last week was Peaceful – wow, this post is perfect for that. 🙂
TY! I was nicely surprised to see he had written on the same topic… Great minds think alike… 😉
HA! I did this daily prompt challenge too. So glad I stopped by to check yours out. Your Stephen King quote was the best!
TY! I love that quote from him too… What an amazing and prolific author he is. Thanks again for stopping by and I’ll be round again to visit you. 🙂
My personal oasis is in the bonus room of our house. It is almost fully devoid of furniture, save a folding table and sectional sofa. I like to call it my fortress of solitude and is where I do most of my writing.
Powerful haiku, Elizabeth and a wonderful post
