Weekly Photo Challenge: OPTIMISTIC – the delight of a double rainbow
Human spirit is the ability to face the uncertainty of the future with curiosity and optimism. It is the belief that problems can be solved, differences resolved. It is a type of confidence. And it is fragile. It can be blackened by fear and superstition. Bernard Beckett
For this exercise, I’ve chosen to share the beautiful double rainbow I saw a week ago. It showed up after a heavy rainfall and took up an immense expanse of the sky. It was so breathtaking that I pulled off the road to capture it. First from inside the car, then when others pulled up to do same, I stepped out and took a few more. My only regret is that I didn’t have my DSLR camera with me so the shots you see are from my smartphone camera. I chose the rainbow because it is a symbol of optimism and hope. As the colder weather settles in, and we prepare for a major snowstorm tomorrow, the rainbow and all its vibrant colors will stay close to my heart and mind’s eyes. I hope the predictions won’t be as bad tomorrow… Stay warm!

I try to look at things in a positive light and am usually always optimistic. There are days that it is harder than others. I love the rainbows that you posted here.
I feel the same way and rainbows always put a smile on my face. TY!
I love a pretty rainbow, isn’t nature wonderful? This is a lovely collage of photos x
those rainbows looks amazing! always picture perfect
Those rainbows are so beautiful and remind me of the promise behind them. Today I’m optimistic I’m going to have a great day despite the snow flurries :).
Love the rainbow pictures, show truly about the optimistic title you have that whatever challenges and trials we have in the end of the day, there is always good things to come.
Right on time post for me – having to keep my rose-pink glasses on! 🙂
Hahahaa! 🙂
Awesome pictures. I love rainbows.
There is nothing like a rainbow to lift our spirits and help us see the miracle in nature. We just had some rain but i haven’t been out to see rainbows yet. Loved the images.
Such an incredible photo! It does inspire a sense of optimism. I love that quote from Helen Keller. Such a wise woman that overcame enormous obstacles.
There is no Rainbow without the Rain and its then same for life…No testimony without a test, all good things come with teir own challenges and all we have to do is trust that the source of life will take us through them. What a lovely photo challenge candidate!
Rainbows always make me feel more optimistic too!
There is something about rainbows that brings me joy and optimism. Every time I see one, my day brightens up and I feel like there is something good waiting for me. I love your take on the theme.
Thank you. I feel the same way! 🙂
Awesome! After all, the rainbow WAS the first sign of “positivity” in the Bible after the flood. Perfect!
i love seeing rainbows and agree that they represent optimism and hope. i like to think that they bring about new beginnings too
Beautiful rainbows! My son is learning about rainbows, he loves “The Storm Book”, it’s a story about how hot and dry it is, then a storm comes, and then at the end when the storm is gone, a beautiful rainbow appears. He SMILES so big every time we get to that page!
Beautiful… Thanks for sharing the piece about your son and rainbows… made me smile
Beautiful rainbow pictures! My son is learning about rainbow and loves the storm book. He gets through the storm and learns at the end about rainbows coming after the storm! He lights up when he sees the rainbow at the end of the story!
Those pictures are so gorgeous! There’s nothing more beautiful or hopeful than a rainbow.
Wow! those are some nice rainbow shots! Seeing a rainbow always makes my day a little bit brighter
Great photos! I’ve never seen a double rainbow in person.
Seeing a rainbow will surely make a bad day turn a bit okay. It’s like seeing hope in avery bad situation.
These are such beautiful images, I would so love to learn how to take better photos.
I’ve always love seeing a rainbow. Especially after it has rained for some time. It really makes you reflect on things. I’ve never witnessed a double rainbow in person.
Optimism is a gift. It enables one to hope and to look at the brighter side despite the challenges it faces.
It’s beautiful. I love rainbows. We had one here recently that was a full arc. I haven’t seen that in a very long time.
Wow. I love your pictures. It is beautiful. Rainbow never failed me to inspire.
Same here… I’ve always loved them. 🙂
What keeps me optimistic about life are the same things that motivate me to wake up each morning and the same reasons that make me push harder. There are times that it becomes challenging but if you have your eye at the goal, you’ll realize that it will keep you going.
Amen to that!
It’s not easy to remain positive all the time and I was in a lot of trouble recently, having to handle a mean boss who seem to be finding fault with every single thing I do just because I’m leaving the job. It was disappointing, but I told myself he’s just making it easier for me to let go…
That is the best approach in such challenging situations. Focus on your exit plan. 🙂
Love the rainbows. Thank you for the reverse smile. Made my day!
Oh TY dear one! Glad to see you here <3
These rainbows look beautiful. I haven’t seen a rainbow in years, expect in pictures.
I always make a conscious effort to be positive and stay optimistic about things. It makes difficult situations easier. A negative attitude never works so might as well find the good in any bad moment or challenge that life throws at you.
Exactly!. I’m with you on that approach. 🙂
I love your rainbow pictures. I got frustrated due to snow and cold weather. But in 2016 goals I decided to see these as a opportunity to spend more time for blog. Writing more post in winter and schedule it for latter.
Good. Keep it up! 🙂
I’ve never seen a double rainbow before. I hope to see one soon. That would be awesome!
I think it’s impossible to look at a rainbow and not cheer up! They always make me smile no matter how rough my day is.
What gorgeous photos, those rainbows are absolutely breathtaking!
Double rainbows are so awesome to see, especially in person. It means there are TWO pots of gold at the end!
True and I’m waiting to collect mine… Long overdue! 🙂
Gorgeous pics. i’m so jealous as I’ve never seen a double rainbow before!!
