Weekly Photo Challenge: CREEPY…
“I don’t trust or love anyone. Because people are so creepy. Creepy creepy creeps. Creeping around. Creeping here and creeping there. Creeping everywhere.” Vincent Gallo

Weekly Photo Challenge: CREEPY… Staring Eyes
“I started from my sleep with horror; a cold dew covered my forehead, my teeth chattered, and every limb became convulsed: when, by the dim and yellow light of the moon, as it forced its way through the window shutters, I beheld the wretch — the miserable monster whom I had created. He held up the curtain of the bed and his eyes, if eyes they may be called, were fixed on me.” Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
Have you ever had someone stare at you with cold, dead eyes? It will send a shiver down your spine. Eyes send messages and they can be frightening… Our eyes are the windows to our soul and when we want to communicate, we often include our eyes in our emotional expressions. Happy eyes are one thing but angry, murderous eyes are creepy. This really was a challenge because I don’t do creepy! I don’t watch horror movies, read scary books or care to have the wits scared out of me. I love Stephen King as a writer but I don’t read his scary books. I love the Twilight Zone because it’s a psychological thriller; I can handle that but not the mad cow, in-your-face, axe-wielding Charlie movies. So this exercise required some creativity on my part. I used my own photos and played around with Photoshop and Pixlr to create a mood and an effect. What do you think?
“Creepy people do the things that decent people want to do, but have decided are not a great idea.”Mike Birbiglia

Weekly Photo Challenge: CREEPY… Staring Eyes
“A cold hand fell on Louis’s shoulder. Rachel’s voice was grating, full of dirt ‘Darling’ it said.” Stephen King, Pet Semetary”
Just above our terror, the stars painted this story in perfect silver calligraphy. And our souls, too often abused by ignorance, covered our eyes with mercy.” Aberjhani
Who was my muse? Of course, our darling pet, Tangy! He can give the best stares even as he scratches your leg for entertainment. He was sufficiently cooperative but, I bet some of those stares were out of irritation with my project. I could almost hear him say, “Look, this rubbish is boring me… Get me some food , will ya!?” Haha. Enjoy!

“Wandless, helpless, Pettigrew’s pupils dilated in terror. His eyes had slid from Harry’s face to something else. His own silver fingers were moving inexorably toward his own throat.” JK Rowling, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Weekly Photo Challenge: CREEPY… Staring Eyes
“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore! This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!’Merely this and nothing more.” Edgar Allan Poe
Yeah, by now you know that CREEPY is not what I do … but, I ENJOYED the creativity that this inspired. Sure, I don’t even like horror movies or scary books and so, this was a stretch. I had to get creative and use my pictures to create a mood… I hope it inspired you to create your own. Have a great weekend!
My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. Check out how others interpreted the theme – CREEPY – below.
This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: CREEPY – This week, show us something creepy — because hey, we can’t take photos of rainbows and puppies every day. Well, okay, I guess we can. But let’s branch out anyway! Share an image of something creepy. Unsettling. Eerie. Disgusting. Go goofy, as I have. We can go back to inspiration next week — this week, give us some heebie-jeebies!

Hahaha! You said it… 🙂
😀
Yep, creepy enough for me!
Hahaha! I was stumped until I looked into those eyes. 😉
Your post is so creepy, the photos creepy, something tells you that the writer is nothing more.
HAHA your cat deserves an extra treat for participating in your blog post! 🙂 Interesting photos!
Thank you and he will get a treat.
Creepy eyes mean distrust to me make some people scared.
I really wish that I didn’t read this post right before bed…it was so, obviously, creepy. I was attacked by a friend’s cat as a child and they totally creep me out. I’m glad to be creeped out by animals instead of some of the other horrors in the world!
Sorry Amanda… I’m with you. Creepy is NOT my thing!
I am not into creepy stuff, do not like horror nor antagonize cats as creatures of evil
Hahaha Adriana. I love cats and mine indulged me for this exercise… I used to have a vintage, one eyed doll but, she scared my kids so much that we got rid of the doll.. She would have been perfect do this exercise.
I have been toold I have expressive eyes. I wish sometimes I could keep them on the down low so people couldn’t read me.
Oh, you kill me Beth. Expressive eyes are good! Shifty eyes? No. LOL!
My eyes tell you everything. They are truly windows to my soul.
And when they’re creepy they can be warning signs to run on out of there 🙂
This is a really good writing prompt! I like looking up scary stories on reddit. You’re completely right though, you can definitely tell so much about people just by their eyes!
The creepiest experience I have had was to see someone really staring at me and I had this strange feeling that I have meet this person at some point in my life, I just could not remember. It just felt like I have spent a lifetime with this person.
Those pictures were really creepy. I shouldn’t have looked at them right before bed…aaah. Nightmares. Better look at something happy now.
Yes it is creepy but it is fascinating. There are things that you judge outright but right now what I am seeing is art and creativity. Cheers to the creepiness.
Cheers to the creepiness. I agree it is creepy but at the same time it is fascinating. For me it is art and creativity. These staring eyes are beautiful.
those eyes are really creepy! I can’t stand creepiness at all, can’t understand those who enjoys watching creepy movies. and I feel that those cats with silty almond shaped eyes look kind of sinister too, don’t you think?
Me, too, I don’t like creepy but this one’s amazing! It appeared creepy in a nice way because of its artistic qualities. Great job!
Thank you Claire. 🙂 My kids said the same thing… haha! 🙂
Those staring and glaring eyes are really creepy. Reminds me of the upcoming Halloween 2015.
Very cool (creepy) photos! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thats a lot of seriously creepy information. But definitely good to know, since im reading it on my way back on a train. Must keep a look out for creepy people
Hahaha! Okay, take care.
I love how you played with the pictures. I, on the other hand, love to watch scary movies, but I would be really scared if someone will give me a murderous stare.
I’ve had a couple of those and they are scary!
I’ve had someone stare at me with cold dead eyes, it wasn’t fun. It was in fact creepy and I hope to never experience that again.
Boy those are creepy. It is neat to experiment with photo taking photo shop type programs.
They say the eyes are the window to the soul and i think so! There is something very creepy about somebody with cold, dead eyes
Yeah I like a good suspense movie. But I can’t do horror. The eyes are the windows to the soul.
I have never experienced having someone stared at me coldly, but being stared at by an angry person. Yes! Lol but if that happens, that will be scary but I will not panic instead I’ll look for my pepper spray or stun gun to prepare.
I agree with Jaime the eyes are the window w to the soul and these are intense!
Creepy people are everywhere lurking in the streets especially at night. Yes, I have been glared at that way and in my mind, I was just praying that nothing bad will happen. Cats’ eyes also look creepy. I feel that they see something that humans really can’t.
Now you’re creeping me out. 🙂
I have had animals stare at me. It can be creepy. But other times it is a look of love and affection. I love my three dogs.
I think this is my new favorite photo challenge! It reminds me of the upcoming Halloween.
Haha, the Harry Potter quote is definitely something I can relate! I’ve just read that part yesterday as I was re-reading the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows for like the 16th time!
Creepy to me sums up Halloween, snakes and a good horror movie that keeps you guessing. I can’t stand snakes, they’re the creepiest thing alive in my book, it’s a good thing that you didn’t feature it in this week’s photo contest or I would have a hard time haha.
Some cat eyes are really creepy enough to make me feel frightening! But some are so adorable!
They look so mysterious but oh so beautiful.
I am at ease seeing people with creepy eyes. I am one of those blessed to be part of Prison ministry where we share the word of God once a month at our National Bilibid Prison. I tell you those inmate at the maximum cells have such frightening eerie looks, only the brave can withstand.
Hahahah! I really don’t do creepy! 😆
Those photos did put creepy up one notch! I was almost spooked by those intense eyes!
Seeing a ghost is one creepy thing I have experienced. and I can’t bear retelling the bizarre encounter.
These photos are definitely well captured and creepy enough to scare anyone. In reality i think havent seen anyone like that otherwise i would have been dead scared.
YIKES!! Those are creepy eyes!!
not creepy at all.. i think they’re so artistic and fun!
A cats eye or stare is really creepy especially at night time. I guess the world is full of creepiness. We just have to find courage within us.
I would have to agree. Disembodied shiny eyes are among the creepiest things to see in the dark. Other creepy sights would have to be shadows and spiders. Hehe.
Some of your cats stares photos are quite creepy and cold unlike the owner herself. I like the pinkish tone on your cat. By the way, I remembered that Harry Porter quote, awesome.
Just the word creepy gives me cold chills. I’m going to read everyone else’s take on creepy and see if they out do yours.
Please do! Haha!
When I saw this I thought of Halloween right away as it is very creepy. Good job with the challenge
Hehehehe I have had many people give me creepy stares….. Definitely freaks me out!
Those eyes reminds me of my childhoods scary moments.
the eyes are real expression of your personality and unconsciously you have no idea how it looks to others.
This is an awesome post indeed. I do believe eye are the heart to the soul. Eyes can be just a gorgeous for of art. Thanks for sharing.
I have definitely seen eyes that look more than evil. Something is almost dead in some people’s eyes. It’s more than creepy.
Yes, someone called them dead fish eyes… scary!
I never thought about my eyes when I am angry. Good point though!
You did a great job with that prompt. I am sure that Tangy is really a sweet cat, but those photos are creepy.
Definitley intense!
love this challenge.. i love eyes… eyes can show expressions, feeling!
The eyes really speak volumes. This picture really is a bit creepy lol
Yup, their creepy alright…
Staring at those eyes! Gotta run, now!
I hate to get red eye on a perfectly wonderful (otherwise) picture. The edits never look right for me either.
Hahaha! it’s perfect for creepy
Yikes! If creepy is what you were after, you got it! 🙂 Really freaky!
I just shivered a little bit looking at those photos. Creepy is the perfect word! Perfect post since Halloween is coming up!!
These are creepy images but my daughter says they’re cool!
