Haiku: Dear Mom…
“The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.”Honore de Balzac

Haiku: Dear Mom – Collage of the seasons of her life
Fall leaves floating by
lifetimes of hurt swept aside
winter’s balm beckons…
Cherry blossoms smile
changing seasons of our lives
Love is all we have…
I love Haiku,as a form of poetry because it forces us to choose our words carefully. When you have a 5-7-5 set of syllables to work with in a stanza, you must pare things down. I hope you like this ode to my Mom and to all Moms.
“Men are what their mothers made them.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Haiku: Dear Mom – Collage of symbols of the 4 seasons.
A Sunflower dance
Grapes of wrath have come and gone
Love whispers … Dear Mom
Love, life’s shifting winds
In spring, summer, fall, winter
A mom’s heart … steadies

“My mother taught me about the power of inspiration and courage, and she did it with a strength and a passion that I wish could be bottled.” Carly Fiorina

Haiku: Dear Mom – Collage of the seasons of her life
Dear Mom, I thank you
for memories … dark and light
A child’s love, feeds on…

Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful Haiku’s-I haven’t attempted to write any recently-I really should start again. These are perfect Mom tributes.
I love these photos and the haiku that go with them. thank you for sharing your thoughts about your mom!
Dear mom memory is beautiful leave all my worry behind
Very beautiful in every way! 🙂
Mothers are the most compelling and most selfless person. Most forgiving person I know
I have so much to tell my mom that honestly, I don;t even know where to start. Maybe with a thank you?
Thank you is the best way to start.
every time I visit here I am amazed at your poetry skills! I can’t write poetry to save my life
I definitely agree with you in regards to Haikus as a written medium; even though they seem easy to write you have to stop and really put thought into the words you’re going to say. All of your haikus are beautiful!

What a sweet haiku. You mum, I’m sure, would be touched to be reaching this!
It’s always nice to be reminded that your loved!
Always important to cherish your mother. Lovely poems
Your Haiku is full of great thoughts and images love it!
I write little love letters to my mom a lot. She is my rock… 17 years without my dad has given me so much more desire to stay close with her.
You wrote a beautiful haiku! My mom is amazing and I am so thankful for her!
I am not a very good poet. Haiku seem simple enough, but it is hard to make the syllables fit the form yet come up with a meaningful and vivid imagery for it.
Love this post 🙂 Especially since it honors all the moms out there!
I’m always in awe of both your photography ability and your positivity!
What a beautiful post and beautiful pictures to go with it!
Short, sweet, and hits you straight to the heart. Love your haikus! You must have a great mom because she definitely manifests herself in you.
I would prolly have made the same Haiku because I can relate. With all the warmth we get from our mom’s love, we also get some dark memories because of tough love, but in the end, our mom just wants what’s best for us.
MOMs are the best. YES I truly love my dad too but Mom’s love is way different. Thanks for this article!
Interesting challenge nicely done.
Thank you dear Gilly! 🙂
Such a sweet post! And lovely photos, too!
What a lovely dedication to mums! The ode is perfect! I love being a mum, certainly makes me understand why my own mum used to do and say certain things – I even repeat some myself even now! Sim x
Beautiful. I love Haiku poetry and the ones for your mom are such a nice tribute. Thanks for sharing.
I just talked with my mom this morning. Although we don’t keep in touch as often as I’d like, she’s always the person with whom I want to share good news!
This is lovely. I always love the photos and quotes you use, always the best. My mom passed away when I was 16 but I can totally relate to that Carly quote!
I think it’s wonderful when my kids write me something. I’m one to save those forever and always. 🙂 I liked your haiku.
If you want to know what love is look at the way a mother looks at her young child. As always your quotes brought that sense of their enduring love back to me. Lovely post as always
So sweet… thank Peter. I concur! 😉
These are lovely haikus. I may not always say thank you to my mom, but I make sure I always tell her that I love her.
I remember an English class with a teacher that was Haiku happy! It was an easy class as I loved writing them
This is an awesome inspiring post indeed. I totally love the haiku as a form of poetry also. This is totally beautiful for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Haiku is a really fun form of expression. I haven’t written any in a long time. I like the examples that you show here.
Dear Mom, I can’t thank you enough for all the sacrifices and unconditional love you bestow upon me. Words aren’t good enough to show how much I love you.
Being a mom is such an important role. It is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life.
Such beautiful words. I love Haikus too, and have tried writing them.
Missing my mum a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Practicing and learning Haiku now. Love reading it, so simple yet so deep. It gives deeper meaning and at the same time you will get lesson after reading it.
Such a beautiful and inspiring quotes you have highlighted about the relation with our mom which we take for granted. I feel like writing a letter to her now.
These are nice haiku’s. Mom’s love are just timeless and unconditional.
Lovely photos that compliment those nice Mother Haikus. Ah, now I miss my mother.
Lovely photos to compliment such good Mom Haikus. Ah, now I am missing my mother’s sweet thoughts.
Awww.. this is so so sweet!!
Wish I could have done one for my mom when she was still alive.
I missed my Mom so much while reading this post.
Likewise. It made me wistful… <3
We should always give and respect our mothers/father for they have given us such life as much as they can.
Mothers are sensitive when it comes to their children. I know coz I am a Mom. And now I also understand my mother why she’s too protective to us.
You are good with Haiku, for me sometimes I am lost with words. Cheers to all the mom in the world.
I’m working on it… 🙂 TY!
As a mother myself, it always effects me when I see when I see mothers being appreciated in a special way.
I always love a good Haiku. These pictures are very lovely as well.
Lovely of you to have that ode to moms 🙂 And gorgeous collage as usual!
TY Hui! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I will never get tired reading these fine Haiku.
Same here. I enjoy reading/writing them and learning new concepts.
Growing up, I didn’t get the concept of a haiku. Now, they are my favorite type of poetry. I still occassionally write them.
Good for you. I’m still learning how… I tend to get too literal but working on improving. TY!
What a sweet way to honor our mothers. Nice haiku eh 🙂
Yes Anna, Thank you! 🙂
Great hauki, I wish I have the poet in me to construct good poetry like this.
Whether its Haiku or any other type of Poetry, A tribute to mother is one great piece to write.
Thank you!
