Weekly Photo Challenge: VIVID!
“I see life as increasingly complex, vivid, colorful, crazy, chaotic. That’s the world I write about… the world I live in.” Julia Glass

Weekly Photo Challenge: VIVID! Moon in vivid artsy phases.

Weekly Photo Challenge: VIVID! Kaleidoscopic vivid art
Art is expression; what is expressed is often the vision of a subtle and powerful soul, and also his experience with his vision; and however vivid and skilful he may be in the means of expression, yet it is frequently found that the master-spell in his work is something felt to be indefinable and inexpressible. George Edward Woodberry
What type of art can you/do you create?: For this week’s challenge, I decided to create my own versions of vivid, illuminations and cubist art pieces. I created them from existing photos I had taken and some collage templates I created for fun. I went to Pixlr and played around with some of their tools and reworked my photos into these artsy forms. If you take a closer look, some of them might ring a familiar bell but I won’t offer any spoilers till later. What do any of these remind you of?
What triggers a creative impulse? The moon idea came from one of the quotes I used in this post. You’ll find it further down. Once I created the first collage above, I kept going. I had fun changing the color of the moon to the most psychedelic shades possible… and each shade inspired another shade until I had all 16 of them. Then I added some flames to spice things up and voila! I took other photos and templates and played around with them too. The whole exercise was a thrill and I invite you to make time to let your inner child come out to play and create. You won’t regret it.

Weekly Photo Challenge: VIVID! Embroidered flora in vivid art
We’ve been surrounded by images of space our whole lives, from the speculative images of science fiction to the inspirational visions of artists to the increasingly beautiful pictures made possible by complex technologies. But whilst we have an overwhelmingly vivid visual understanding of space, we have no sense of what space sounds like. Honor Harger
Where does your artistic impulse/motivation come from?: All of us have the ability to create something that gives us joy. Some of us tend to brush away the impulse to create because we feel inadequate or unprepared. Don’t let fear get in the way. Take a chance and see where it takes you…
Whether you dream in color or in black and white doesn’t matter. You can always look around you and find the brightest, glowing piece that radiates a certain energy you like, then just go for it. I could have chosen some of my vivid art shots but, what the heck, we should invent and create our own when we can. Which one/ones do you like best? I’d love to know.

Weekly Photo Challenge: VIVID! Moon vivid art
The Moon was the most spectacularly beautiful desert you could ever imagine. Unspoilt. Untouched. It had a vibrancy about it and the contrast between it and the black sky was so vivid, it just made this impression of excitement and wonder. Charles Duke
Stay Creative: The quote above gave me the push I needed to play around with color and form. It always amazes me where our creative impulses find their footing. I had a blast creating these vivid pieces and I invite you to create your own… I look forward to seeing what else is out there and I bet my fellow photo challenge members won’t disappoint… They take great photos too. Enjoy and have a great month of June.
My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. Check out how others interpreted the theme below.
This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: VIVID The theme for this week’s photo challenge, “Vivid,” is offered in celebration of the VIVID festival of Sydney, Australia, which runs from May 22nd, to June 8th, 2015. VIVID Sydney is the largest event of its kind combining music, light, and ideas. Perhaps it’s your favorite flower in full bloom, a beautiful sunset or the color of your ice cream. Vivid is limited only by your imagination. Have fun with the challenge!
Positive Motivation Tip: Create and express yourself the best way you can. Every creative impulse adds joy to your life.

The last time I paint was 2009. I’m good in painting abstract. Maybe my mind is as crazy as abstract, lol
What beautiful artsy pieces! I love the colors in all the pieces, this is a great weekly photo challenge
I absolutely LOVE your moon art. Just a few nights ago on our way home from a trip to the ice cream shop we noticed how large, circular, and just plain stunning the moon was. Wish I would have captured it on camera!

Thank you Mia! I love vibrant colors too.
I used to be way more into the photography groups, I loved the challenges. Creativity is not something you do, you need to cultivate it. Challenges help that.
I rarely get the chance to tap into my artistic side and just design art. I’ve always been fascinated with Picaso but never exercised my skills. Perhaps this will inspire me to try. 🙂

I used to create picture collages like that of my family, infact I think I might do that again with instagram photos. You’ve given me such wonderful ideas here and inspired me to channel a little bit of creativity this weekend!

Very imaginative play of colors! I do not think I will think about doing this project this way. You show an artist’s touch in your style. – Fred

The moon photos are just gorgeous!
It’s a fun way of learning about colors, what photo would be the best.
I can create a few things artistically, but not anything as complex as the pictures you have on here. If you did these yourself, you are very creative!
I love to see color combination in my drawings/paintings, these is where we are actually realize how much we feel and inspire.
Quite great art! I am a fan of Kaleidoscope! Thanks for sharing this!

Those pieces are amazing. I’m not sure that I could enter the challenge. Stunning.
Dang…that is colorful and imaginative. I suck so bad at anything creative or artistic, so yeah…I’m jealous of those who can! 🙂
I love color. These are some beautiful images.
Vibrant colors attracts people with the same art motivation. It helps identify the inside of somebody’s heart and mind. Likewise, colors reflects a person’s choice of life. Fernando Lachica
Aren’t those moon photos amazing. What a great idea. And it sort of reminded how much a change of colour can affect our perception of a single view
Indeed. I was quite taken by the effect of each one.

These are so cool, I love vivid colors. I love to paint even though I am not that good at it.
Those photos sure are vivid and they sure brightened up my day that was kinda dreary today. Always good to come on here and find a bit of inspiration.
I came from a family of artists: painter (grandpa), photographers (almost every generation of the family), graphic artists (uncle), etc. And through my family, I understood the concept of colors. Let me just share this. When my grandmother died, my grandfather continued his paintings. But we realized that the colors he use is black and other dark to neutral colors. I understood that colors reflect our emotions, moods, etc. So if we wear or surround ourselves with vibrant colors, it would reflect in us.
It that the moon? It is so colorful which caught my first sight when reading your blog post.
love the colors, very cool and pretty.
Those photos are vivid indeed. I was told I had a vivid imagination when I was younger…hope that was a good thing. Haha 🙂
I love the moon photo. It’s really creative. The images really makes you think and appreciate the beauty of the arts.
Beautiful colors and images. I always see myself as not creative because I let fear get in the way. But once I set my heart to it, it surprises me that I can also create beautiful things through my crafts.
An interesting series… I wonder though, about the original photos you took? What had they looked like?
The colors are so vibrant and beautiful
Playing with colour has always been a struggle with me and art. I always painted things as they should.
Step out and try new color schemes… it will be liberating! 😉
The kaleidoscope piece was my favorite. I’ve always been fascinated by the way that a kaleidoscope works. The bright colors also have me dazzled!
Same here …. remnants of childhood?
I’m enjoying visiting these posts. Makes me stop and focus on something else other than my everyday worries. Thx
Such a neat challenge. I love all the colors.
It’s great to see how creative and colorful you can get with photos! I’m still working on my photography skills but I hope to get there someday.
I’m not an artistic person, sad to say, but I know how to appreciate good artworks! Your photos are quite appropriate for the topic. They’re really so vivid!
love the colors you presented and how vivid they can get, make us all see it even more clearer.
I am no good at art but I do know how to appreciate if I see one good piece of artwork. Lovely photos and the colors remind us that this world is made up of people of all colors that if only we know how to value each color then this place we are living in would be a place of joy.
Beautiful insight Papaleng! TY! 🙂
