Weekly Photo Challenge: MUSE… Tangy Cat is my Muse

The muse is not an angelic voice that sits on your shoulder and sings sweetly. The muse is the most annoying whine. The muse isn’t hard to find, just hard to like – she follows you everywhere, tapping you on the shoulder, demanding that you stop doing whatever else you might be doing and pay attention to her. Harlan Coben

Color is my muse …  Whenever we think of a MUSE, we think of a person, male or female, who inspires our creative outlet. Our muse could be something other than a person, it could be something deeper that prompts our inspiration to flow…  When I think about what inspires me to pick up my camera and take some shots, the first thing that stands out is COLOR; colors in nature, the surroundings, art, buildings, people, food, fabrics, and everything in between. Yes, I like black and white photos but, color entices me and I can never, ever get enough of it. Another MUSE is Tangy, our family cat. He is always entertaining and loves to pose for photos. I’ve included a collage of some of my favorite shots of him above. What about you? What/who is your creative MUSE?

I never try to convey a message, I just want to tell a story. Why that story in particular? I have no idea, but I have learned to surrender to the muse. I become obsessed with a theme or with certain stories; they haunt me for years, and finally, I write them. Isabel Allende

We live in a world filled with colors; from the rainbow to flowers, food and fauna, there is enough color to keep us busy appreciating the universe we inhabit. When I think of people who are filled with disdain for others, I feel sorry for their inability to appreciate the rich and colorful diversity that makes our world so, so interesting. Would you like more of sameness? I wouldn’t. Have a color filled weekend!
My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. Check out how others interpreted the theme below.

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: MUSE  For this week’s photo challenge, What subject keeps you coming back? This week, show us your muse. So what’s your muse — what subject do you turn to frequently, more inspired each time?

Positive Motivation Tip: Color is my inspiration. I see it everywhere, and when I don’t, I create it… my Muse knows this too and together color rules our universe.

    you’re gifted one

    My contribution for the challenge:

  • I would say my kids are my muses. They inspire me more than anyone or anything.

  • Whenever I think of muse I used to think it had to be someone but I guess music is my muse. It really does inspire me.

  • Love the collage of the different foods that you got posted here (the one on the lowermost right corner). Curious, what camera do you use when you take your pictures?

  • A person’s personality bounds to be revealed through his mind and soul. Writing a non-fiction or fiction story can be related to your muse, experiences, knowledge and the whole you. Likewise, the more you use your muse, the more you want somebody to peep in inside your soul. Fernando Lachica

  • Like you, color is a big part of my inspiration in photos. I’m very drawn to taking photos of colorful flowers.

  • I love the color theme for your Muse. I was noticing today how many colors I can’t even describe just on the way home from an appointment! It’s such a beautiful place out there.

  • love all the pictures you’ve chosen, especially those macarons! so vibrant, so colourful! you really love taking photos of Tangy, I believe. in some pictures, he’s got that “pictures, again?” look on his face!

  • I like Tangy, totally muse-worthy. Color is definitely great inspiration as well. Awesome answers this week.

  • Weird, but I completely understand the idea of muse. Sometimes I just need to draw or write or create something. I am not settled until I do. And when it is done i feel such a sense of satisfaction and relief! The quotes you used are perfect and I can relate!

  • A muse can put the great into the ordinary by sparking unlimited love or admiration or lust or just loads of irritation, but we all need one. Without them we have no one we need to reach or understand, and where would art be without those impulses

  • How creative that you’ve thought of colors as your muse. It makes a lot of sense. They are an inspiration and even brighten your mood in an instant. I love colors, too.

  • There really is so much color around us. I love that you’ve given a great perspective on showcasing some of them!
