Haiku: That’s Amore
“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore.” Dean Martin

Haiku: That’s Amore
Dean Martin – That’s Amore (1956)
Love… that’s amore
It strikes at unusual times
In strangest places
“Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Haiku: That’s Amore
Life… that’s amore
We wait in vain for lovers
To shine like the moon
“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” Thornton Wilder

Haiku: That’s Amore
Trust … that’s amore
When we let love flows, it grows
Open, let love blossom…

I haven’t thought of that song in forever. It’s a good one. You’re so right about love coming in unexpected ways. I am trying to be more open to it.
I love reading Haiku. I’ve never been so great at writing it, as I tend to be verbose. Love the one about trust.
This is so true. Trust is the foundation of true love!
I really love this blog post. It’s so inspiring. Thanks for sharing such great words and photos.
Awww, I love that song. My Papa used to sing it to me when I was a little girl.
Haha, when I read your post title, I immediately had the Dean Martin song in my head! I agree that love can sometimes pop up in the strangest places.
It sounds odd, but my relationship with my husband hasn’t really changed all that much in the 11 years we have been married. I still am as thrilled to be with him as when we first married!
This post made me think of my grandparents. They used to sing this song all the time to us. They were married over 60 years too. That’s love!
The dark ages art is so beautiful. What detail that we aren’t capable of anymore!
our love has changed immeasurably over time. how can it not? we’ve changed and grown, had kids, changed careers, aged…. but it’s a deeper love, a less in love love, but a lasting one. and the friendship is still there, on a new level
Beautiful post! I have been with my husband for almost 13 years – he’s my best friend!
I so have that song in my head now. Maybe I can grab the kids and dance to the song in my head?
This is a great post, I love the “emotion” that is shared.
My husband and I have been married 7 years our love story started fast but has held on strong through lots of ups and downs. But love carries us through it all!
Beautiful post! Love this so much!
Trust is the key!
I can see that TRUST struck a chord with others too… TY
That was one of my favorite songs when I was little. We did a ballet routine to it!
I so love Dean Martin! Such a great song!
I can not get over your writing! It’s so beautiful!
Beautiful and so true. Thanks for sharing!
I can never get haiku’s to come out sounding right. All of yours sound so great!
My love with my husband went from butterflies, to best friend to soul mate! <3 love these!
I love Dean Martin’s version of that song. I too have a love of haiku but am not really great at writing it.
I’ve learned a lot about love over my 30 years. Something totally change the way I feel about love.
Love the trust one! I believe trust is super important and everything is built upon it.
I have been with my husband for almost 17 years. It has definitely went through all those stages over the years.
after 12 years of marriage I’m experiencing a new kind of love for my husband. this one has a bigger friendship factor.
Love this post 😉 I have a friend that’s doing poetry with her kids in their homeschool lessons. Haikus are so fun but I am not sure I would be good at writing them myself. I love the one about trust.
I absolutely love that song. I’m totally singing it in my head right now. Thanks for sharing!
What a neat pot. My husband and I have known eachother for over 20 years. We have amore!
I love stopping by here– you’re writing is amazing!
I remembered that song from way back! I am digging the haikus.
true without trust we can’t love someone fully 🙂
I never knew what it meant..haha But I am also 25, never been in love & never been in a relationship longer then 4 months..so I can’t really talk. I have two kids who I love more then anything and don’t need anyone else now 😉
It is such a beautiful poem (can say it like that?). I agree love is very much about trust, I can’t imagine someone loving the other without trust.
Love does come in unexpected ways and times. That’s for sure.
