“A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.” Mahatma Gandhi

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love Notes & Wishes

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love
Where love is, there God is also.
Love wrestles with the world as with itself, and
ultimately gains a mastery over all other feelings
Wherever there are jars,
Wherever you are confronted with an opponent,
Conquer him with love. Mahatma Gandhi
Love covers a wide spectrum of feelings, ideas, and beliefs… It is not so easy to pin down to a few visual examples and that’s not bad because it means we will see hundreds of different interpretations of love for this challenge. Displayed in the first photo above are love notes and wishes people wrote and hung up at a temple in Japan. You could write a prayer, poem, your desire for love on the heart shaped card, and the blessings were shared as others came with hopes for same. Flowers are also a symbol of love…and I added the popular Tennyson quote to the collage. May we all find love in our hearts first.
Let the lover be disgraceful, crazy, absentminded. Someone sober will worry about things going badly. Let the lover be. Rumi

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love… The color of Love

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love…
When the sweet glance of my true love caught my eyes,
Like alchemy, it transformed my copper-like soul.
I searched for Him with a thousand hands,
He stretched out His arms and clutched my feet. Rumi
Pink is associated with love for all sorts of reasons (family, purity)but more so because it’s a delicate, warm shade that adds cheer to any space. As Valentine’s Day approaches, many will be in line to order and/or receive chocolates and roses; classic symbols of valentine’s day love… Hope you get some too.
Watching other lifeforms in nature nurture each other like loving humans do is heartwarming… The deer family above was hanging out in my backyard and it was a delight to watch. What symbols of love did you share? More below!
“The lover’s cause is separate from all other causes, Love is the astrolabe of God’s mysteries.” Rumi

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love… A collage of love interests
Fall in love in such a way that it frees you
from any connecting. Love is the soul’s
light, the taste of morning, no me, no
we, no claim of being.
These words are the smoke the fire gives off as it
absolves its defects, as eyes in silence,
tears, face. Love cannot be said. Rumi
I was told that the words written on that huge love sign were lucky words… And had to do with having a happy marriage. People at the temple mentioned in the first picture on this post, walked by this sign as they wrote and hung up their love wishes… May you enjoy good fortune for seeing this too.
The heart collage/word cloud above is created at tagxedo.com and it shows all the different topics I’ve written about, and a typical range of what we all love; from family to skills and things we do… Perfect for this challenge. Go create one for your blog. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Thank you! Have a great weekend and thanks again for stopping by!
*Please bear with me as I continue to catch up on reading and commenting on your blogs. Thank you all for your patience!
This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: Love Amaze us with your own interpretation of LOVE. This photo is a testament to other people’s ideas of love: affixing a lock to a bridge in Paris with their love’s name and other information. In a new post specifically created for this challenge, share a picture which means LOVE to you!
My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. I added some from Zemanta and a few from WP Daily Post below. Check out how others interpreted the theme – Love – also see below. ***
Positive Motivation Tip: Love pulls people together and holds us all up… It starts with us and in our hearts. Love abundantly! Happy January! Share your gifts!

The wise Gandhi is right, love is the braves battlefield not the cowards… 😉
Gandhi’s quote just struck me as completely different from the usual quotes I read on love. You know, the heady stuff…and it does take courage to truly love others unconditionally. I added Rumi because he is the ecstatic poet of love. TY! 🙂
Love abundantly is wonderful advice. I always enjoy your quotations and photos and need some inspiration this bleak January morning. Thanks for sharing.
I love the idea of abundant love… not so easy to do either but worth battling with our own reservations to achieve it. 🙂 TY! And I apologize for being so behind on blog visits… I need a virtual assistant! I’m slowly catching up. My kids will be back in college soon and I’ll have a bit more time to up the ante on catching up. Thanks all! 🙂
Love one another as I love you, Jesus’s teaching. May we carry that love. Happy love day, Eliz.
TYdear and may the love you desire always meet you at your door. TY! 🙂
“Love pulls people together…” – and encourages, gives motivation, positive energy, helps to develop creativity, supports our humor …
All of the above Frizztext. TY! How are you doing? 🙂
A wonderful post Elizabeth. You hit the heart of love dead center. 🙂
You are too kind Walter… love is a bit of a mystery to me… But I embrace it heartily. 🙂
Beautiful Elizabeth!!
TY dear… Are you back? Must stop by real soon… 🙂
Yes! 🙂
The word “LOVE”…says so much…so I will probably have to write a blog on that subject myself…Beautiful words by you as always!
Go for it and I will read it… I’m skiing along to catch up… Need a speed train. 🙂 TY!
I’m a little slow myself…maybe I’m just frozen…
I must be… 🙁
Love the photo of the love notes in Japan. I think it is a wonderful tradition.
TY and I agree with you too… We could use that here in the USA. I love the Paris padlocks too. 🙂
I love the word collage! Lots of love goodies in there….
TY Genevieve! I appreciate the feedback from everyone… This was not easy for me to do… I have to be honest… TY! 🙂
Hey E! Love this post! Thanks for all the care and attention to bring to your posts. You are a lovely addition to our little blogoverse…thanks.
TY dearest one! And I will say that the sentiments are the same… You are a light on this path too. 🙂
Rumi, deer and a link to create at tagzedo, a winner Eliz! thanks, I’ve made a tag cloud heart 🙂
You are so sweet! I will look to see your word cloud. I hope others saw the link and will create one for their blog too… It’s a lot of fun. TY! 🙂
Thank you for including so much Rumi in here. These are beautiful quotes and have put love in my heart today 😀
TY Diane! I love Rumi and could read his writings and words over and over again… Glad you are a fan too… I should’ve guessed it. 🙂
You took a lot of different version of love and brought them all together in a carefully crafted blog post. Loved it! Thank you for the pingback, which brought me here, to your lovely blog 🙂
TY so much Amba and I will stop by again to see and comment on yours. Merci! 🙂
“Love cannot be said” Rumi always has the perfect words doesn’t he? 🙂
He sure does…and yes, he never ceases to speak to my heart… You are another great Rumi devotee Madhu TY! 🙂
Hi Eliz, awesome “love” post. Love is also an action. We can choose to love or not. I choose L.O.V.E. And I love your blog!
Tracy
TY Tracy! And I LOVE your blog too… It brings a gentler perspective to what we do and I love your creativity and stories too. 🙂
Lovely meditation on love, Elizabeth.
Rumi’s my favorite “love” poet. Thanks!
Rumi Always… Glad you approved. TY! 🙂
Love conquers all. Sure it encompasses a broad range of emotions, values and feelings. I can see you are in your element with this week’s challenge. 😀
TY Rommel! I was struggling with the subject because I am not a love expert at all.. I really appreciate the feedback… I’m a keen student of love; eager to learn more and understand it better. TY! 🙂
I have seen some of these photos earlier. 🙂
TY Zen! And yes, I’m glad you recognized some of them from before. I have a decent collection of photos and would have more if I didn’t lose a batch some years ago. 😉
Great post for a very broad challenge! I especially like the Gandhi quotes. What do you think about the ‘jars’? I am picturing a pantry full of preserves…food= nuturing=love. But perhaps that’s not what he meant.
TY for your comment and I love the Gandhi quite too… About the jars, I think he meant jarring exchanges… different sorts of conflicts. TY again! 🙂
Well, yes, that makes more sense, philosophically. But it always comes back to food for me!
😆 I totally get it… TY! 🙂
Very nice interpretations. I love it. 🙂
TY Tracy! Love is a much admired and feared emotion… I’m learning. 🙂
I really enjoy your collection of wise quotes. So many beautiful and deep thoughts about love. And your pictures are as always beautiful, too, expanding on the ideas of the words.
TY Munchow! I appreciate your feedback… and what’s so ironic is that my current personal challenges are not this… I’m grateful for the creative process.
Love quotes and Photos. Simply wonderful!
TY Ritu! I appreciate your comment. 🙂
Reading around all of these Love posts, I’m a big mushy mess! Lovely!
You are funny Tilly! I can only imagine. 🙂
😀
Hello Elisabeth ! To me heart is a beautiful love symbol ! One day a friend’ s daughter asked her : mummy what is love ? My friend answered ” love makes the heart beat, so it helps us to live”!best regards from France
Beautiful share Sandra TY! I like that conversation. 🙂
I loved the collection of quotes, and your photos do the words justice. I have had some wonderful examples in my life of very loving women. In particular my grandmothers and one of my aunts…not that others weren’t loving, but these women knew how to communicate it. And I often hear their voices in my memory as they forgave readily, accepted easily, nurtured constantly, and communicated approval without judgment. That is love to me. 🙂
Wonderful Debra! You need to write about these powerful and loving women in your life. Their stories will uplift others too. 🙂 TY!
this post was like warm caramel smoothing over me gently
Beautiful description Jo! I love the visual of that. TY! 🙂
Woderful, Eliz, how you bring all these things together about love. I enjoyed every bit in this blog, the pictures, the quotes and what you had to say about it. TY!
TY Auntyuta! I appreciate the feedback. I am very much a student of love and learning as I go along… Have a blessed week! 😉

happy day to you. <3
Beautiful post, Elizabeth. But above all, love one another. Love is the greatest gift of all 🙂
TY Cee! Appreciate your take on Love too. 😉
This is such a wonderful post on Love 🙂 Love is rather hard to define. It’s vast, both as a subject matter and into our hearts… It can take many forms and can create and destroy. In any case, it’s omnipresent. Essential.
Great post. I love the photos of the deer 😀
(Your posts haven’t been appearing in my reader.)
Beautiful post as always. This words were my favorite which I think sums up why love exist, “Where love is, there God is also.” Wonderful pictures with words that soothes the heart. Have a great weekend.
Love transcends all things, uplifting us… Great love post, Elizabeth!
