“It is the stillness that will save and transform the world.” Eckhart Tolle
Haiku: Stillness…
“Blessed are the single-hearted, for they shall enjoy much peace. If you refuse to be hurried and pressed, if you stay your soul on God, nothing can keep you from that clearness of spirit which is life and peace. In that stillness you will know what His will is.” Amy Carmichael
Stillness calls my name… As NaNoWriMo beckons Write on other days…
“Through return to simple living Comes control of desires. In control of desires Stillness is attained. In stillness the world is restored.” Lao Tzu
Haiku: Stillness…
“For those who wish to climb the mountain of spiritual awareness, the path is selfless work. For those who have attained the summit of union with the Lord, the path is stillness and peace.” Bhagavad Gita
Stillness calms my nerves… No need to challenge nature Stress with fear left town…
My goal is to focus on stillness while writing this haiku with no three letter words. More below!
“Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.” Hermann Hesse
Reflections: Just Sit & Be Still...
Reflections: Just Sit & Be Still...
“No thought, no action, no movement, total stillness: only thus can one manifest the true nature and law of things from within and unconsciously, and at last become one with heaven and earth.” Lao Tzu
Lately, I’ve been feeling the pull to stop the words, to shut the door, to turn within, to just sit and be still. Do you have those moments when words seem too much? Do you feel drawn to the silent stream on the periphery of your mind’s eye? Just sit and be still…
“One’s action ought to come out of an achieved stillness: not to be mere rushing on.” D.H. Lawrence
“For those who wish to climb the mountain of spiritual awareness, the path is selfless work. For those who have attained the summit of union with the Lord, the path is stillness and peace.” Bhagavad Gita
Learn To Be Still ~ The Eagles
It’s just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You’d give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still …
Fellow bloggers, Judith of Growing Younger Each Day inWords, Words and More Words, and Nancy of Spirit Lights The Way inThe Real You, wrote posts today that touched on something that made me want to sit and be still. As we scuttle about talking, blogging, writing, who or what sustains our drive? the real you? When we choose words that empower us, do we choose tender, tranquil words, or limiting ones? Just sit and be still…
“To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.” Lao Tzu

Kathy of Pocket Perspectives offered a post Believe in Yourself with a beautiful poem and mention of the beauty and creativity that quiet brings to her space. All of this and more, made me think about the need to retreat from the endless hustle and bustle that is a constant in our lives. Something inside us speaks to that space of quiet prayer, reflection, silence, stillness… Just sit and be still. More below…
