No water, no life. No blue, no green.  Sylvia Earle

H2O: The chemical symbol for one of the 4 most important elements we need for survival on earth – WATER. Without water, we would be dead in a fairly short time and everything around us will shrivel up, burn up and disintegrate. As one of our main sources of sustenance, water is a very powerful element and as the quotes tell us, it can penetrate almost anything. It cleanses, heals, destroys and nurtures us and this yin/yang aspect of water make it a formidable opponent.

“You don’t drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there.” Edwin Louis Cole

And all the boards did shrink;

Nor any drop to drink. Samuel Taylor Coleridge

We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one. Jacques Yves Cousteau
Not only the thirsty seek the water, the water as well seeks the thirsty. Rumi

For this week’s photo challenge, H2O – WATER, I wanted to add a collage of still and active forms of water and will upload the bigger photos from the selection very shortly. Moving water is an important complement to still water because the movement refreshes it and removes impurities… Without such movement, algae will grow and pollution will set in. That said… please send your well wishes to all in the path of Hurricane Matthew which is wrecking havoc in parts of the USA. Come back soon for more photos on H2O

Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams – they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do – they all contain truths. Muhammad Ali

Being around Water is very important to me and I always look to it as a place to seek respite and be refreshed. As I searched through my photos for ones that would fit the assignment, I was happy to find a lot more as water is very important to me and I live near water too. If you are one of those folks who live near the ocean, I’d love to hear how you cope when the weather turns very cold and those lovely, warm ocean breezes become a freezing, frigid experience; such is the element of water … yin/yang.

Have a restful weekend!

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: – H2O For this week’s challenge, share a photo that features H2O; the element of water. Water comes in many different states and guises. From a foggy morning to your favorite watercolor painting, how will you show H2O in a photograph? I look forward to seeing your interpretations.

Positive Motivation Tip: Water is both healing and cleansing. It is a powerful force of nature and we must respect what it brings into our lives.
