In the twilight zone
The savage beast rages on
In YOU and In Us…

The monster within
Travels like a thief at night
Haunted by old slights…

Strangers throwing darts
Spewing toxins in our part
Blinded by half truths

Beware of Anger
Unspoken resentments kill
Like stagnant water

Like fast ripples in a lake
Invades the senses

Stuck in old school cliques
A vicious bird soon drops dead
From rage in its head

Thoughts, words, acts and deeds
spitting venom every day
Do You know my name?

Beware of Anger

Like comments couched in meanness
Festering in pits

Beware of Anger
Forgive the horrors of war
Pray for peace within

    Usually if I sleep, any anger I had is diffused. Some people can’t let it go, but I sure can.

    This is great. I try not to be angry it just ends up polluting my life.

    Some people have a hard time letting go and the anger just takes over everything. It’s not fun to watch, or even be on the receiving end of. You wrote that well

    What a great and timely post for me.

    I truly need to work in my anger and resentment especially about past things. I know all the theory but sometimes it is so difficult.

    Why I get angry I try to stop an think of what’s causing me to be angry, Then I would think of ways to fix whatever it is that’s bothering me.

    When I get angry, I try to resolve the issue immediately. I hate to hang on to it – and I definitely never go to sleep angry!

    Stupidity enrages me.. I can get it when people do not understand, but when someone just acts dumb for no reason that gets me crazy.

    It is important to not allow yourself to be consumed with anger because it has a negative impact on your health.

    I’ve been having a slight problem with the anger/irritation aspect in life lately. It doesn’t help being pregnant. I notice things irritate me a lot easier. But I do my best to take a deep breath and let it roll off my shoulder

    I try to not let anger overcome me. My husband deals with a log of anger. When we get angry with each other, our rule is to not go to bed angry. There have been times where we haven’t gone to bed until 3-4 am. LOL

    Thought-provoking haikus, Elizabeth. I don’t often get very angry anymore. I used to, and it took me a while to realise that it was only doing me damage.

    I try not to get angry but if course it happens sometimes. When I’m angry I need space, I have to walk away from the situation for a while and either go somewhere peaceful like the beach, lake or park. But I always try to resolve the issue or at least express my feelings the same day because I don’t want to let it continue the next day.

    Great post! I find that I encounter lots of angry people all the time – so I try not to add any field to the fire, ya know? Life’s too short!
