Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation. Brian Tracy

I love the word for this week’s photo challenge – Forward. Forward is such a powerful, active, encouraging and, depending on our interpretation,  positive word. It reminds us to keep on moving and trusting that all things will be resolved; for good or for our growth. Without movement, everything stagnates; In government, it leads to corruption and control. In people, it leads to rigidity. In nature, to polluted waters. Forward we must go to grow…

“My trust in a higher power that wants me to survive and have love in my life, is what keeps me moving forward.” Kenny Loggins

If we are to go forward, we must go back and rediscover those precious values – that all reality hinges on moral foundations and that all reality has spiritual control. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I added a few shots today to move this along. The top photo was taken at Storm King in the Bear Mountain region. It is an outdoor installation center/museum. The water and bridge shots are of the TappanZee Bridge and the Hudson River. The nature shot is of the Croton Aqueduct; a favorite walking path I visit regularly. The dogs and their owner are on the walking path by the TZ Bridge. The rest are highway shots of  people moving forward to their various destinations. I hope you like the selections. Thank you and come back for more. More below

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. Lao Tzu

I find that when I resist any moment of spontaneous change that arises in life, it creates stress and misery. When I move forward and go with the flow, I learn to be at peace with the change even if I don’t like it. Moving forward is healthier because what we resist, persists. Let’s keep growing and moving forward…

Thank YOU ALL For Your Support and Patience Do come back soon and I will be visiting you all shortly too. Thank you! Have a great weekend and thanks again for stopping by! :-)

*Please bear with me as I continue to catch up on reading and commenting on your blogs. Thank you all for your patience! :-)

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward  Perhaps it’s a path you yourself have taken, the building where you’re starting a great new job, or the curve of your partner’s pregnant belly. It could be an image that shows a physical move, or something that evokes a major life change. In a new post specifically created for this challenge, share a picture that says FORWARD to you.

My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. I added some from Zemanta and a few from WP Daily Post below. Check out how others interpreted the theme – Forward –  also see below. ***

Positive Motivation Tip: Keep moving forward with confidence and hope in your heart… It will make a difference. Happy February!

“what we resist, persists”….haha, don’t I know. As much as I give that advice to others, I suffer the odd bout of not taking my own advice, and suffer accordingly. 😉 Love the Kenny Loggins quote too, btw. Great Post.

Nicely forward Elizabeth. 🙂 Lovely set of images and quotes. I’d forgotten about the Disney one. And love that Lao Tzu quote

TY Veronica… glad to see you here again. It was healing in many ways. 😉

  10. 23/02/2013 8:47 am

Great pictures to illustrate forward. It’s especially necessary to keep on moving through difficult times. Is it a country song or a quote that says, “If you’re going through hell, keep on moving… And you might get out before the devil even knows you’re there.” Sometimes, forward is all there is.

    • 02/03/2013 7:45 am

TY Genevieve… very important and I so get it. 🙂

  11. 23/02/2013 9:27 am

Great pictures! Thanks for the pingback. 🙂

  12. 23/02/2013 10:08 am

I like the Lao Tzu lesson about letting things flow naturally. A lot of people struggle to do so. We have that nature of making things happen which is not always the case. Some even create their own discomfort, or they mold their problem into bigger chaos. My mindset, I’d always think that there’s far more people in the world who has bigger things to worry about than I do.

    • 02/03/2013 5:47 am

I agree, go with the flow helps; especially when faced with challenges that need our attention. It helps stem the chaos. 🙂 TY!

  13. 23/02/2013 10:48 am

  35. 26/02/2013 12:15 pm

Inspiring quotes as alwasy Eliz 🙂

  36. 27/02/2013 11:21 am

I think that’s right – change is often a good thing and at worst, it’s inevitable anyway.

  37. 28/02/2013 9:02 am

Reminds me of a quote that says something like: faith is like steeping up on one stair without seeing the rest of the staircase… it’s moving forward, and doing it even though we don’t know what’s reserved for us. Beautiful post for the challenge!

  38. 28/02/2013 12:21 pm
