Musings: On Peace…
“Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace.” Gautama Buddha

Musings: On Peace…
If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart. Lao Tzu
Dear One,
Beloved, Blogger, Family, Friend… You know who you are. Yes You! This missive is for you. Thank you for making an important contribution to my year through your words, advice, comments, hugs, likes, and laughter. I’m amazed at how quickly time has flown. We have now entered the final month of yet another remarkable year, and I’d like to invite you to keep peace in the forefront of your mind. As you plan for the holidays and all the religious/non-religious celebrations that come with them, make peace one of the gifts you share.
“In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t.” Blaise Pascal

Musings: On Peace…
The Emergence via Children of the Sun Foundation.
“The Emergence” has begun.
The prophecy says, ‘Let the dawn come.
Let all the people and all the creatures have peace,
let all things live happily, for love must not only be
between humans, but between all living things.
They said, ‘We are the Children of the Sun,’
and we are… Awakening As One.
Dear One,
Beloved, Blogger, Family, Friend… You know who you are. Yes You! This missive is for you. Your light, creativity and compassionate words continue to sustain this world, even as others turn to conflict and aggression. Every tiny act of peace sends thousands of ripples across the ocean of suffering and despair. Don’t give up for We/You are the way-showers, the peacekeepers, and the children of the sun… Our collective actions will help us leave a legacy of peace to our children, our loved ones, and our planet for generations to come. Let’s remember to daily invoke the divine and all that is light, love, healing and uplifting in mankind. Om lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu ~ May all beings in all of the worlds be happy. May you, your loved ones and all who connect with you be happy this holiday season. Thank YOU. More below!
“What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family.” Mother Teresa

Musings: On Peace…
“The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.” Black Elk
Dear One,
Beloved, Blogger, Family, Friend… You know who you are. Yes You! This missive is for you. Peace is not a fantasy or an anomaly. We can achieve it; slowly but surely. World Peace is an important part of our compassionate nature and what many of us desire; the spirit of peace is within us. Although some have abandoned it for the spoils of war, my hope is that we find our way back to peace… and bring our troops home. May peace prevail in your household and beyond. Thank you for lending an ear; for listening. Thank you for all you do.
Peace and Blessings,
Elizabeth
Have a Peaceful week ahead!

You do such a good job of taking on the WP Daily Post Challenges. I have actually been writting them down to incorporate for future post. There are a lot of good ideas there. 🙂 I love your letters.
TY Liz and I hope you find time to respond to the ones that call to you. I don’t write on all the challenges… time constraints and more, but I do enjoy the selections. 🙂
Thanks again for a wonderfully inspiration post, Elizabeth. Love your peace quotes, but my favourite is one attributed to Jimi Hendrix. “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” Wishing you very peaceful weekend. xx
Yes, I’ve always loved that Hendrix quote… it would be perfect for this too.
TY Adin! 🙂
This is such a positive and inspirational post!
TY Sherry… I appreciate you stopping by. Congrats again on your new book! 🙂
Bringing troops home would be a good start. On a more personal level, sometimes, peace is just being able to let things go. Just let them go….
True… at some point we have to choose our battles and let go of the chaff. TY! 🙂
Thank you for the inspiring words and beautiful photo, Elizabeth! Love the quotes you selected, esp. Lao Tzu.
I’m glad you like the Lao Tzu quotes. I fell in love with it the first time I read it, and I decided to save it until I could come up with a post around it that would be perfect… TY! 🙂
Thank you for another great post, Elizabeth. As always, it is full of wisdom and inspiration.
TY Naomi for your kind thoughts… Always an honor to see you here. 🙂
And it is always a pleasure, Elizabeth. You always have something worthwhile to share.
Ditto! 😉
This is wonderful, Liz – what an inspiration you are! 😀
TY Dianne and I hope to find more inspiring topics to share… 🙂
Thank you for sharing peace.
TY for your generous words too.. TY! 🙂
I think peace starts from the inside.
It sure starts from within… I concur. 🙂
We should give peace a chance! What do we have to lose?
Wouldn’t it be great if all the war-mongering folk felt the same way on our planet? TY for your comment. 😉
As always, I love the quotes you choose…and the photos…and especially your heart and soul, Eliz…it gives life to one of the best blogs in the world!
And peace…each must be at peace with himself/herself before we can have world-wide peace. But, we can each create a peaceful home for our families…this we can do. 😉 I just did a blog post on that: http://viviankirkfield.wordpress.com/2012/12/02/sunday-post-peaceful-how-to-create-a-peaceful-home/
Have a beautiful holiday season, Eliz…filled with peace and love!
TY Vivian and glad to see you visit. Each must be at peace with self… i agree. I’ll click over shortly to enjoy your post. TY for checking in! 🙂
Thank you, Elizabeth. Let the ripples of peace spread into a mighty ocean. Your post reminded me – again – that peace begins with me.
TY Eleanor! It does begin and end with us; all of us. TY! 🙂
Yes, it all starts from within. So important to be what you want to see in the world (I am sure you the quote I am thinking about). 🙂 Great post!
Thank you for coming by my blog, always a pleasure to see you there Eliz.
TY for stopping by mine too… I wonder how the temperature has been at home for you… Very cool or moderate? 🙂
Thank you, Elizabeth. A life working for humanity that is worth a daily try. I wish you a peaceful week ahead. Allyson
TY! Wising you a peace filled week too! All good… 🙂
Hold peace in our hearts. Lao Tzu, Blaise, Mother Theresa . . . you. Have a peaceful week and month ahead.
Have a peaceful, bliss filled month too… We all deserve some time out to re-group. TY! 🙂

This is beautiful, Elizabeth. There’s so much we can do, that we have a responsibility to do. It begins and ends with each of us. Thanks for the reminder.
TY for stopping by Marcia… Hope you are enjoying the quiet before the flurry of holiday season activity. 🙂
I’d like to nominate your wonderful blog for the Beautiful Blogger Award. You can check it out here: http://oceanboundsadventures.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/beautiful-blogger-award/
TY so much for including my blog on your awards list… Much appreciated and will stop by your blog to thank you soon. 🙂
You have a generous heart. Your post was very inspiring.
TY so much SueAnn… the sentiments are mutual. 🙂
So lovely and full of love and hope Eliz! Thank you.
TY Nicole… It is the season of hope and I’d love to remember it too… 🙂
Love it! Peace be with you 🙂
Peace be with you and yours too… TY so much! 🙂
I know this much: if there’s no peace in the world, it won’t be your fault!
Lovely post.
You’re so kind… and if humor fails us in this world, it won’t be your fault. TY dear one! 🙂
😀
Aye captain! 🙂
If there is one message that needs to be sent out at this hour of mankind’s history, it must be this one. Thank you Elizabeth. Hugs, Sharon
TY Sharon for your wisdom and visit… It’s my prayer too that, at least, during this season, all the warring factions will cease fire and try peace and conciliatory negotiations for a change again… True.
This message seems more important than ever at the moment. Thankyou for giving it
TY Peter and I so agree… So much maiming and suffering around the world. 🙁
Thank you for your positive words and inspiration! It seems that there is a tendency in society to not only see the negative, but to actively search for it and thrive on it. Peace is possible and the shift starts with us.
Well said… I was reading an article in the NYTimes about the cop who bought shoes for a homeless man. Many commentators felt that more of those stories should be the norm instead of the usual diet of extreme violence and fear inducing stories… They have their place but a bit more balance won’t hurt. I agree. TY! 🙂
so true 🙂
Aye! 🙂
Thank you for sharing these encouraging and positive thoughts .. It’s early in the morning here, and reading your post is such a good start in the day now! As Lao Tsu said “There must be peace in the hearts” ..and I feel we all should seek peace in ourselves and then spread it out to the others around us .. it really should be possible to make our precious world a little more peaceful.
Forgive me for my insufficient knowledge of English to express all the thoughts in my head when reading your post. Thanks so much for your good wishes 🙂 Have a great day!
Thank you for your thoughtful comment… I agree that we can make the effort to find peace in our hearts and share it… It is mankind’s greatest hope. TY! 🙂
Thanks for sharing this wonderful post about peace my friend ,
I love it peace be with you always 🙂
TY Jake and it was wonderful to see and read your post on the same topic. Awesome! 🙂
There is just not one part of this post that didn’t touch a part of me Eliz…thank you for writing it and reaching out with it
TY so much for your feedback Jo! You know how it is… we write and hope others are moved by it or at least, get to read it… Much appreciated. 🙂
A very inspiring post full of encouragement and love. Yes, may we all have peace. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
TY Munchow! Amen to that and May peace guide your path throughout this season and beyond. 🙂
Thank you for this reminder of what is really important, not only in this holiday season, but in life. I’m taking Mother Teresa to heart and starting with peace in my family at ALL TIMES, which means starting with the man in the mirror. Peace Out, Eliz.
TY so much and Amen to that! I agree that we start with ourselves and our families and spread it out from there. 🙂
Joy and peace to you my dear 🙂
And likewise to you and your loved ones Gilly! 🙂 Blessings! 🙂
😆 😎
Dear One…I love your letters! Yes! May peace come to all…;)
TY Sunshine! Yes, peace to all is a great gift… 🙂
