Haiku: Moon…

Spread the love

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” Gautama Buddha

Haiku: Moon…

Blue moon glittering
Courting the night sky and I
Shatters empty dreams…

I love the moon… It has always inspired me to imagine distant worlds inhabited by star shaped people doing wondrous things… More below.

“Don’t tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.” Anton Chekhov

Haiku: Moon…

Gentle giant moon
Dancing, cavorting with stars
A cool night fire…

What does the moon mean to you? What about you? What are your thoughts? Are you a moon worshiper? Did you catch the recent new blue moon? What attracts your attention in nature? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

This post was inspired by a prompt from Haiku Heights:The September Heights

    Beautiful post.
I am always spying on the moon, new, blue, or otherwise. Often I wonder, “What is it that I’m missing between here and there. What more is there to see?” But then I realize, in and of itself, it’s enough.
My sister came to visit me from many moons away 🙂 the week of the blue moon (August 31). We hadnt seen each other in a ton of years. I took these photos when she was here. The moon will forever remind me of her now, and how wonderful it was to see her. A relationship that, when we were young was broken, but is now mended and whole. (lengthy, I’m sorry. But you asked :-).) LOL

I love how the moon appears like a glowing mysterious sphere… like a guardian angel upon our heads, looking after us at night… almost like a motherly figure! Great post 🙂
