Happy Valentine’s Day: 14 Uplifting Ways to Celebrate
Happy Valentine’s Day! What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? This is the mantra we will hear and repeat until the 14th comes and goes. For those of you with great romantic plans with loved ones, I say go out and enjoy yourselves. Carry that feeling into the rest of the year and to people outside your inner circle of family and friends. To those of you who don’t celebrate it, for whatever reason, I say bravo. I hope it means you have conquered the commercialization of this formidable emotion we call LOVE. I hope it means your loved ones implicitly know that you are the love god/goddess of your household; you don’t need one day of the year to prove it. On the other hand, if you aren’t celebrating because you don’t believe in love or you think it’s overrated, think again! Did you miss the memo on Self-Love? Love truly begins with us and how well we care for ourselves. To EVERYONE: Here are 14 tips to help you appreciate and celebrate the life you have.
❤️1) First and foremost, if you are single, send yourself a Valentine’s Day card and a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
❤️2) If you have a partner, send each other a special delivery of flowers and a favorite/cherished keepsake.
❤️3) Surprise a few folks by sending secret Valentine’s Day cards, flowers, or chocolates to struggling friends and neighbors you know could use some hugs and love
❤️4) Make a list of all the things you LOVE about YOU. Type it up and frame it on your wall.
❤️5) Make a donation to your local Foodbank, favorite Charity, and friend/neighbor in need.

Happy Valentine’s Day: 14 Uplifting Ways to Celebrate
Do you remember your first Valentine’s Day? Your memorable or saddest Valentine? Valentine’s Day can be a trigger for both good and not-so-good memories of unrequited love, shattered dreams, and long-gone lovers. All of these memories count for something and add to our bag of life stories we carry with us; sometimes tucked away as scars or as sacred events. What matters most is that we motivate ourselves to create healthier, more positive, and more fulfilling experiences and memories. While love can be exhilarating and enervating, it can both heat us up and leave us cold, and we must learn to move forward with life without getting stuck. We can take the experiences, bundle them up, tie them with a glorious bow, and offer them to the Gods, asking for a compassionate lover, a lasting companion, gratitude for loved ones, grace for future loves, and above all, blessings for fulfilling love. Happy Valentine’s Day!
❤️6) Invite your closest friends on your favorite video conferencing platform to enjoy some virtual comfort foods and gift exchanges, and call it a Just Because Of Our Love Party.
❤️7) Treat yourself and your family to a special meal and have each person share at least one thing they love about everyone in the family.
❤️8) Have each family member write down all the accolades and positive feedback they shared about each other, and use the information to create individualized Valentine’s Day cards for your family members.
❤️9) Listen to your favorite love songs and create a song list on Spotify or Apple while indulging in a spa day
❤️10) Search for the top Love and Romance Movies of the last decade and have a Movie-watching-marathon

Happy Valentine’s Day: 14 Uplifting Ways to Celebrate
Why Valentine’s Day? Every year, around the month of February, anxiety levels rise as lovers debate the merits of celebrating one of the most potent and powerful emotions on one designated day of the year. Why create more stress over an emotion that already requires 24/7 attention and displays of affection? Some would argue that, after all, it is the celebration of the life and works of two beloved Saints/martyrs named Valentinus? So for them, this day, February 14th, is not about human lovers but is dedicated to Saint Valentine’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Valentine, because its origins are based on a Western Christian feast day in honor of the saint. Others would argue that since we have special days for all sorts of things, a day for lovers would be perfect, and why not this day, right? If you have a generous mate, you might get to be wined and dined and pampered … the stress comes when you have a mate who is either jaded, can’t afford the extravaganzas, or simply forgets. I know.
We also have that group of people who feel the whole thing is a commercial effort to separate lovers from their hard-earned coins. The truth is that no one can force you to spend money you don’t have, so be wise and clear. What resonates with me more is that this season of love is a great time to work on effective communication with loved ones. It is a great time to rekindle the flames of love if you have been taking each other for granted. If the funds are there, it’s not a bad time to splurge a little on each other. Valentine’s Day ought to be a two-way street, frankly, because love takes two to tango, and we can’t let the onus of celebrating this day fall on one partner’s shoulders. What do you say?
❤️11) Take a healthy walk and re-evaluate your daily routine to include time for reflection/prayer, exercise, creative endeavors, and other things you keep putting off.
❤️12) Read uplifting books or articles like “Do You Love Yourself?” by inspirational author Louise Hay. In the article, she offered twelve important tools/tips on self-love. These tips are powerful and timely for this season, and I encourage you to add them to your daily motivation/inspiration guide and routine.
Stop All Criticism. Support Yourself.
Forgive Yourself. Do Mirror Work
Don’t Scare Yourself. Be Loving to Your Negatives.
Be Gentle and Kind and Patient. Love Yourself
Be Kind to Your Mind. Take Care of Your Body.
Praise Yourself. Do It Now.
❤️13) Give thanks and gratitude for all the good in your life and share it with others
❤️14) Practice Random Acts of Kindness for at least the next 14 days

This was such a great way to start the day today. I really enjoyed it. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Glad you stopped by. I hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration with your loved ones. You work so hard helping others. Thank you for checking in. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours!
I read this the other day and it really had an impact on me about how to celebrate Valentine’s Day focused in self-love and kindness. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for revisiting this topic. I love the options as not everyone has a partner or wants to go all out.
Hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day. I will admit we knocked going out and also buying things on the head many years ago as it’s so over the top now and can be very expensive unnecessarily. It’s nice to have a meal out but not with hyped up prices they do for special Valentine’s Day meals. I sometimes invite friends over, with and without partners as a group and we all enjoy a homecooked meal together. For me it’s more than just a special someone.
Same here. Love is an every day affair so I am happy to keep it simple.
There are so many ways to express love and show appreciation to those who matter to you. These are great suggestions and I love that quote from Maya A.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!
Love these… Stop All Criticism. Support Yourself. Forgive Yourself. & Be Loving to Your Negatives… Such great words and a way to show yourself some love and appreciation for sure.
Yes, Louise Hay was a great healer and is still missed.
The idea of inviting friends to a “Just Because Of Our Love Party” on video call made me smile — it’s such a nice twist on celebrating relationships that aren’t just romantic, especially when so many of us can’t always be together in person.
Yes, I love the idea too. Often, people forget that not everyone has a partner or celebrates Valentine’s Day. Galantine’s Day, where friends celebrate friends, has grown in popularity over the years.
What a beautiful and thoughtful reminder that love is so much more than one day on the calendar. I really appreciate how this post embraces everyone whether they are celebrating with a partner, focusing on self-love, or simply spreading kindness. The quotes woven throughout add such depth and reflection, especially the reminder that love begins within. The 14 uplifting ideas are practical yet meaningful, and I love the emphasis on gratitude, random acts of kindness, and healthy communication. Valentine’s Day can definitely bring up mixed emotions, but this perspective encourages growth, healing, and joy.
I’m pleased that you approve. It’s always a good idea to step back and recalibrate why Valentine’s Day matters to us.
There are so many great ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day! While I love spending it with my partner, when I was single, I really enjoyed using it as a day to treat myself and make a dessert, go for a spa day, etc. Self love is the most important love, after all!!
I agree. We can’t love others if we don’t love ourselves.
I really like the idea that Valentine’s Day is also about self-love and kindness to others. Some of these suggestions are simple but very meaningful!
Simplicity can be a blessing!
Sending yourself a card and flowers is a great way to handle the day when you are solo. Putting together a playlist and having a spa day at home is way better than dealing with crowds.
I agree and it is all rewarding for the psyche
So many options for ways to celebrate. I found this post after Valentine’s Day this year, but bookmarking it for next year.
Hahaha. Thank you for your thoughtful plan.
Cool read. Those love is… quotes were quite a hype when I was a young girl
Hahaha. The hype continues I guess and the real deal too. 🙂
