I think it’s important to keep your personal life to yourself as much as you can. It protects your sanity and you need to have boundaries. And it helps that enchantment of watching an actor. If you know someone’s favourite colour or what they like to do on a Sunday, you won’t fall for the character as much. Dianna Agron

Weekly Photo Challenge: BOUNDARIES Boundaries exist to keep things in/out and contained. They exist everywhere; we have mountains, bodies of water, rock formations and all types of natural boundaries. Then we have bridges, fences, walls and other man made boundaries. They all serve a purpose that can help us or hurt us. Like everything in life, we can use our boundaries to control our urges and uplift others or we can exploit them for selfish and harmful reasons. Come back later for a MESH selection.

“Boundaries are to protect life, not to limit pleasures.” Edwin Louis Cole

And this is one of the major questions of our lives: how we keep boundaries, what permission we have to cross boundaries, and how we do so. A. B. Yehoshua
Our computers have become windows through which we can gaze upon a world that is virtually without horizons or boundaries. Joseph B. Wirthlin

I love Edwin Cole’s quote above because it reminds us of the value of setting personal boundaries and respecting existing boundaries. In a world where there are those who focus on their own selfish or sick desires, we need even more reminders that boundaries protect life and that is imperative. What do you think?

People truly reaching across boundaries – be they religious or race, political or geographic. A state that is sincerely civil and respectful of each individual’s pathway toward life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness will be our goal. Jon Huntsman, Jr.

We need to spend time reflecting on the violence in our world and how we can heal and create healthy boundaries that protect and help people. My heart felt condolences go out to the families of those lost and hurt in Oregon. I wish all a restful and peaceful weekend. Enjoy the photos and hug your loved ones. Have a Happy Weekend!

My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. Check out how others interpreted the theme – BOUNDARIES – below.

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: BOUNDARIES –   This week, let’s explore the creative potential of limits, borders, and dividers of all types. Share your take on “boundaries” — please feel free to interpret the theme as literally (or not) as you see fit. I look forward to browsing through your photos!

Positive Motivation Tip: Boundaries help us set and see important limits that can save lives. Honor them.

A very interesting post, we do need to set healthy boundaries and respect boundaries but sometimes I’m guilty of setting my boundaries too high and not letting loved ones get close. You’ve got me thinking x

“Boundaries are to protect life, not to limit pleasures”. I couldn’t agree more to this quote. This reminded me so much about the things I wasn’t able to do growing up, and the things that I still can’t do up to now. Sometimes, it’s hard to understand why those boundaries were made, especially if its something you really really want to have. But I just have to trust and be reminded that all these are for something I will be grateful for, years from now.

Boundaries or limits, I think of them more like safeguards. I found out the other day the time spent away from my 3 kids can only last up to 6 hours tops. That’s my limit or I’d go crazy from worry, guess it means no more days out without them for me.

As a parent, my kids try to test my patience every single day with their explorations and antics to what’s unknown to them. Setting clear boundaries for each of them is of utter importance in their everyday life.

Boundaries. One thing we need to learn is setting boundaries and margins. Sometimes we push ourselves too hard or too thin… wallls are crossed and then things get messy. I guess boundaries exist for a reason… we should all learn to respect it 🙂

There are boundaries, and boundaries, and while some may seem to stop us more easily interact with others, others protect us. And, let’s admit it, we all have personal boundaries, and we do not like others to cross them:)

It’s sometimes hard to set boundaries when you blog. Obviously, you don’t want to share everything, but you also want to be honest.

    • 04/10/2015 9:48 pm

I believe we should be honest with our writing and only write things we can discuss honestly. That said, I feel that we don’t have to write about everything. So, some topics are just not discussed because to talk about them means crossing a boundary that affects others… I just don’t write about certain topics.

I believe there are parts of our lives that should be kept private, and parts of them that we can openly share with others, which creates relationships. The sharing creates relationships, and not just associate-ships. Boundaries are definitely important – they create a safety zone in which a person has a certain measure of protection from hurt and harm.

There is always 2 sides of a stories, it depends on how we interpret boundaries. There are rules and regulations to set the boundaries for us, like the dos and the don’ts. Another side is there are no boundaries to dreams, achievements and possibilities in life as long as we go for it.
