The Law of Universe: Tough Truths About Life No One Wants to Admit

Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one. Brad Paisley
At the end of the day, it’s all about what’s on the shelf at the end of the year. Steve Coppell
I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something. Neil Gaiman

Can you believe the year is finally coming to a close? It seems like only a blink of an eye ago when we were celebrating the start of 2017. It was a year that held great hope and promise for many and yet, it served up its share of pain and misery. Through all the challenges, we marched on, demanding to be heard, asserting our rights, mourning the loss of many great ones, and sharing MeToo stories. By the time some of you read this, it wold probably be 2018 in your part of the world. It is still 2017 in my neck of the woods and I am savoring every last minute of this year. I wanted to end 2017 with a post. It’s a post to say Thank YOU for all the experiences that sharpened us, emboldened many and set the stage for a better, braver year ahead. Above is a video that speaks to the heart of how I felt about the year and, hopefully, we can all take some wisdom from the message and get on with the fine art of living and showing kindness to our fellow men/women. Since the teachings of others can offer much wisdom, I have included a selection of my favorite quotes to help us along as we wrap up 2017 and welcome another year… Hurray to 2018!

Year’s end, all corners of this floating world, swept. Matsuo Basho
What the caterpillar calls the end of the world the master calls a butterfly. Richard Bach
As the old year retires and a new one is born, we commit into the hands of our Creator the happenings of the past year and ask for direction and guidance in the new one. May He grant us His grace, His tranquility and His wisdom! Peggy Toney Horton

What has stood out most in my mind? To stop sweating the small, petty stuff and be grateful for those special serendipitous moments that show up in our lives. There have been some very hard times, some health challenges, and some very sweet miraculous events. The miracles reminded me that we are never alone in our struggles, and that the more we believe, the more the gifts are revealed. I showed up for my life this year and stayed the course in going to the gym and getting fit. For that I am proud. I also spent much needed quality time with friends and my large, extended family. Even though there were some health issues, I pushed through and continue to heal. There has been much to teach one about humility and I am grateful for those lessons. The grace of living life with gratitude is to see the doors opening as we walk towards them. The gift of a life well lived is to remember others and their needs. For 2018, I wish you all peace, love, and abundant blessings. Leave the old wounds, slights and worries at your doorstep and trust that the new year will bring great gifts and opportunities for growth. Upwards and Onwards! Good Bye 2017 and Welcome 2018!

Thank you All for the wonderful support you’ve given me this year. I would not have stayed the course without your loving feedback and encouragement. May the coming year be fruitful and productive for all of us. What are your thoughts? How did you spend New Year’s Eve? What do you wish for 2018? Do share! Thank you.

I am so thank for all the encouragement and support that certainly help me along the way. Just like with 2016 I’m leaving the bad and holding on to the good of 2017, including the start of my blog.

I love the idea of not sweating the small things. I have added that to my list of positive outlooks for 2018. Really enjoyed reading this post. Such a great way to say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018. My new years resolution was also to not let small unimportant issues get to me and think of the big picture – I get stressed out far too easily and I know that – so that’s what I want to work on for 2018 (along with eating healthy and exercising more of course). I hope 2018 is good to you!

We should be looking to each year with positivism, I agree on that. We should see the good things that happened and not the bad ones. I promised myself at the beginning of 2017 that I will say yes more this year and don’t miss opportunities. And for most of it, I did it.

As for being happy, I am constantly depressed, clinically depressed. My happy moments come from contemplating about what I have and how much less some others have. What life has given me and what I am thankful for such as heat and even air conditioning. Inside plumbing, hot and cold water. In some countries the water comes out warm and costs to get cold just for an example. I always find some nugget of inspiration in your posts.
