Photo Challenge : Security

For this week’s photo challenge on Security, I thought to feature our family cat too. UPDATE: I wrote this post on my smart phone and the limitations were a bit glaring. Even though there is a better way to write and post from a phone, I didn’t use the usual feature, but instead, I wrote and posted via my phone and I’m glad it wasn’t a disaster.  Just like our pets need our attention to feel a sense of security, we develop habits and patterns of living that become second nature until that security blanket is pulled away. When that happens, we have to learn to be flexible, safe and go with the flow.

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: SECURITY – This week, Share a photo that depicts your interpretation of “security.” It could be your kids happily reading under their favorite throw blanket. It could be a roaring fire chasing away the last of winter’s cold. It could be a worry stone you keep in your pocket or that favorite tee shirt that makes you feel awesome every time you put it on. Looking forward to seeing your creative interpretations of this theme!

I think all of us have a safety blanket so to speak, whether its literal or figurative. And it’s important to have that sense of security because the world can definitely be a complex place.

I have never experienced the affection of an animal. Security to me means the ability to feel like I can be me with the people I love.

I’m sure it’s a two way street. Our pets give us a sense of security as we give that feeling to them. Once one is gone, then yes you’re absolutely right, with other security blanket measures, we’d need to deal with the loss, and try to live without it.

Having a sense of no security is really scary. I have a pet that must be touching me at all times or she is nervous.

What a lovely kitty. I love cats! My husband is ridiculously allergic so I can’t have any. Guess I’ll just have to settle at looking at your beauties.

Yes, our pets do depend on us for their safety and security. They are actually like family and we should give them love like a family member.

Pets can really bring us comfort and warmth. They also bring in a sense of responsibility towards them.

I love having pets at home and ma glad i have my Neko with me. He is a smart cat, and sometimes he got that annoying stare as if he is watching my back. 🙂

For now… a sense of security is prolly a cuddle with my boyfriend, listening to his heartbeat and having his arms around me… the feeling that I won’t be abandoned…

Pets are family. We have to take care of them unconditionally. They are a blessing and a gem in a family. I got two new cats and they are sooo adorable <3
