“Mathematics cannot handle physical quantities like density that literally go to infinity.” Gregory Benford

For this challenge, I decided to go with the glass bamboo installation at The Met’s China Through The Looking Glass exhibition; two years ago, I attended that magnificent exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. AS we made our way through the exhibit, we were blown away by this glass bamboo installation. It was shockingly bright and looked like spears of ice shooting into the sky. We came closer and noticed that there were people placed strategically in the dense body of glass and we marveled at the brilliance of the art piece. Even though I have added a few other shots in my collage that depict some form of densely filled space, this man-made structure jumped at me and hence I have shared it with you… Come back for more on that shortly.

“There is something about the way that Greek poets, say Aeschylus, use metaphor that really attracts me. I don’t think I can imitate it, but there’s a density to it that I think I’m always trying to push towards in English.” Anne Carson

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: DENSE – This week, share your take on “dense” — you could focus on a natural landscape like I did, or take the theme in a different direction, from a sweaty crowd at a rock concert or a busy avenue during rush hour to a fresh loaf of bread, waiting for someone to take the first bite. I look forward to seeing your photos!

When I think of the word ‘dense’, I would think of the city in Tokyo. The whole city is full of buildings aka concrete jungle.
