Even though I’m scared of heights, I get a thrill from going to the top of historic buildings, looking down, and taking a few photos to help me overcome my fear of heights. Of course, every time I get to the top and I look out a window or over a barrier, I wonder what made me agree to go up. So, over the years, I’ve been to the top of some amazing buildings from the Tokyo Tower, Eiffel Tower, WTC and 7World Trade Center, GE Building, Space Needle, Olympiaturm, Neuschwanstein Castle, Empire State building and many, many more. For this photo challenge, I pulled together a few of the photos I’ve taken atop a building or even on a plane descending to an airport. Hope you enjoy them.

Hello again top of the world! Here’s a run down on the photos in this post; 1st Photo – top left is St Patrick’s Cathedral taken from the GE Building in Manhattan, mid shot is BMW headquarters in Munich and 2nd on right is the Olympic village taken from the Olympiaturm, top right and 3rd down on left is the Seattle skyline taken from the Space Needle, Second on left and last shot on left show the NY skyline taken from 7World Trade Center, 3rd down on right is Bavaria Region and villages taken from the top of Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau, Germany. Last shot on right is view from my plane seat as it approached Seattle Airport.
2nd Photo: – 3rd down on the left is Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau, Germany taken from the overpass/bridge which captures that famous angle shot. Bottom left is a view from the Stockholm archipelago showing, on the left, the Djurgården (Stockholm Central park) and we are standing on the south side looking East. Last bottom shot on the right is the view of the Tokyo skyline taken from the Tokyo Tower. Take some time to enjoy the view from atop a building in your area. A mountain top would do well too.
