“Whatever you do, do it with all your might. Work at it, early and late, in season and out of season, not leaving a stone unturned, and never deferring for a single hour that which can be done just as well now.” P. T. Barnum

Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Circus – Out of This World Torres Family Bike Ride

Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Out Of This World™: A Review: As a fan Ambassador for the famous circus, I had the good fortune to attend their, “Out Of This World™“, 7pm circus show last night. I had 4 VIP tickets and took 3 guests with me to the extravaganza at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. We arrived on time to pick up the tickets at the VIP Entrance on Atlantic Ave. The place was packed with throngs of attendees; families with children, groups of teens with their friends, and adults, like me, who came eager to relive a cherished part of our childhood. My guests included a 5 year old boy who was so taken by the show that his jaw dropped for the entire 2 hours. He loved every minute of it, and so did we. It was a phenomenal 2 hour experience that had us on the edge of our seats, applauding and shouting for more. The theme for this show was an invitation to join the Circus Space Fleet, as they set out on a heroic quest to defend good over evil, in a battle to gain control of the magic telescope. What followed was a fantastical display of awe-inspiring imaginative performances that would thrill and amaze you.

The Out Of This World™ show took us on an intergalactic journey through the dazzling lens of a magic telescope. As the journey unfolded, we got to experience the circus Star Seeker do battle with the forces of evil in a courageous attempt to bring the performers back to Earth after years in outer space. The sounds, swirling colors and performances simulated outer space or what we would imagine it to be. It was an exhilarating show with acrobats, aerialists, daredevils and clowns performing gravity defying feats. They also had a menagerie of incredible animals doing tricks and routines that were equally impressive. The lions and tigers were my favorite because I can only imagine the amount of skill and effort it must have taken to train them to perform and not attack their trainer. I must admit that the last time I was at the circus was when my kids were much younger and so, this was a special outing for me. It brought back many joyful memories of my own childhood, as well as the fun times spent at the circus with my kids. If you are familiar with this internationally famous company, you’d know that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Circus offers nothing less than an extraordinary experience.

Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Out Of This World™: A Review

Some Background on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Circus:  The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus was started in 1919 by a merger between P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey of the Barnum & Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth and the 5 Ringling Brothers of the Ringling Bros. World’s Greatest Shows.  Back in the day, they performed under their own portable tents/Big Top which they would set up on camp grounds and rented spaces around the country. By 1956, they had ditched the idea and started performing at large venues.  In 1967, Feld Entertainment bought the circus from the Ringling Brothers  and then sold it to toy company, Mattel, in 1971. By 1984, they had bought the circus back from the toy company and remain the owners till this day.

The merger between Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Circus led to a 146 year circus act that enthralled kids and adults alike. Sadly, this is their last year of operating a circus as declining attendance and high costs has forced them to shut the doors. If you’ve never seen any of their acts, this is the time to catch it as they will be performing, across the nation, from now till May when the last show will be presented to the public. You can search for Tickets – Schedules on their website for shows in all the other states they will be performing in till May.  To connect on social media, use the following hashtags: #RinglingBros #OutofThisWorld  #circusexperience

My guests and I had a spectacular evening and I’d like to say a big Thank You to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® and to Meg Stagaard of DiGennaro Communications for my tickets. It was a memorable evening! If you are in New York, you can catch it at the Barclays Center from February 23 – March 3. Tickets are available. Even with their share of challenges, over the years, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s has remained a highly entertaining, family oriented show. From the few exchanges I had with people at the show, it is solidly a part of many American childhoods and it’s a pity that they will be closing their circus doors in May.  While you can, take your kids, friends and family for an evening of magic that is truly out of this world.
