Weekly Photo Challenge: GRACEFUL – from nature to landmarks

Tell me I’m clever, Tell me I’m kind, Tell me I’m talented, Tell me I’m cute, Tell me I’m sensitive, Graceful and wise, Tell me I’m perfect – But tell me the truth. Shel Silverstein

For this week’s photo challenge on Graceful, I chose photos depicting life in nature and I added a popular landmark known for its attraction to lovers and tourists alike. The center photo is of the popular flowering plant – Bleeding Hearts. I have a ton of them in my garden and, every spring, they pop up ready to show their beautiful long stems and pink heart shaped flowers for all to see. Because they are a spreading perennial, they have seeded across the front garden and I look forward to their graceful presence in the spring. The landmark I added is the Eiffel Tower. Its long neck and elegant presence in Paris is a graceful invitation for all visitors and lovers to gather around this famous landmark and meeting place.  The deer staring back at me/you is a regular visitor in my yard and if you’ve ever watched deer move, you’d know they are both beautiful and graceful in their movement.  What about the rest? Come back later for some more photos from my collage.

On another note, today the 45th President of the United States of America was inaugurated. The transition of power from President Obama and family to President Trump and family was graceful. My prayer is that this great nation will find its footing and build unity among all its people. We all deserve that. Wishing both families and this great nation peace, peace, peace. Om Shanti!  Meanwhile, the artist who created the iconic Obama poster, Shepard Fairey, is offering free posters to download for the women’s march on DC. The snow shots at the bottom of the collage were included because the snow has a way of showing us how beautiful trees, branches, and leafless stumps can be transformed by the snow into something quite artistic. The tree limbs become works of graceful art in the snow. Flowering plants have a similar artistry that inspire so many of us to turn to them, again and again, in wonder.  We are surrounded by grace and graceful things but, we have to keep our eyes open to see them.

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Weekly Photo Challenge Post: –  GRACEFUL  – For this week’s challenge, share something that says “graceful” to you: from a couple dancing a smooth tango or a skyscraper soaring with ease above the skyline, to a leaf that dropped just so atop a moss-covered rock. You can focus on people, animals, architecture, or objects — or go for an abstract shot where the composition itself channels a fluid, streamlined essence. I look forward to seeing your take on this theme!

Have a relaxing weekend!

I love that quote. Tell me the truth.
    These are lovely shots.

And I didn’t see that photo …exchange with the wives. Interesting to know the gift.

    Aloha
