A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Even so, life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches, and thoughts. And the consequences whether good or bad of even the least of them are far-reaching. Swami Sivananda

When I saw the photo challenge topic for today – TINY – the first thing that flashed in my mind was an image of a Diorama; both what I’ve seen at museums/creative spaces and/or created over the years. This brought back many wistful memories of a hobby I enjoyed with my kids for years but gradually let go as life and all its demands took over. I decided to pull together a diorama, using some of my kids left over furniture and toy pieces, and I quite like the finished effect. I included a miniature porcelain vase I picked up at a sale. I loved the cozy effect I was able to create with the tiny furniture pieces and the scarves draped on a frame that provided a colorful backdrop and wall paper effect. As I organized my photos into a collage, I was reminded of the power of tiny, incremental steps… each little step helps us build courage that can eventually help us overcome the most difficult challenges.

Today is Veteran’s Day and I invite you to honor and salute all of our armed forces; men and women, about 22 million Veterans have reintegrated into society, who served in the United States Armed Forces.  These great souls put country and our collective freedoms before Self. May we remember their service and sacrifice as we move forward in the coming months and years. Thank You Veterans!

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. Golda Meir

Another Tiny thought that came to mind was the tiny mustard seed that grows into a giant tree but, I had none around and the spices that I tried to use were not quite as effective. What I love about our photo challenges is that they push us to consider viewing the world through a different lens… and I wish we would all give that idea a try in our interactions with each other. Set aside the expectations and stereotypes, and acknowledge the humanity that flashes forth in each of us. Today is Veteran’s Day and we can make some effort to unite, as we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can live free.

Have a restful weekend!

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Weekly Photo Challenge Post: – TINY –  In this week’s challenge, show us tiny. Capture something at a smaller scale. Create your own miniature scene. Or experiment with the tilt-shift technique — Instagram and other apps have this built-in tool.

Positive Motivation Tip: Honor the tiny spark within and use it to uplift your fellow man
