Happy Father’s Day: Love to all on #DadsDay!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there in the world! This is a special day to honor them and while I agree that every day is Mom, Dad and family Day, we can pause for a moment to celebrate our dads and all those who have encouraged, loved, and helped us in a fatherly way throughout our lives. Since I started writing this blog, I’ve written a post to celebrate my Dad and the many Dads I’ve admired over the years. I’ll share links to them in this post as a way to curate my posts on the topic. Take a look at all or any and enjoy.

Happy Father’s Day: Love to all on #DadsDay!

My Dad passed away some years ago but his legacy, teachings and blessings continue to lift me up. For those folks who have not had the best relationship with their Dad, I’d encourage you to honor those who have supported and lifted you, and find the space in your heart to forgive your father. To move forward, we must learn to let go of the past and all its hurtful memories. We don’t have to forget but we must try to forgive.

Happy Father’s Day: Love to all on #DadsDay!

♥I send Happy Father’s Day wishes to all who have shared sacred space and stories with their kin.
♥I pay homage to Ochiagha, my beloved late father whose blessings, love and generous spirit continue to flow even in his absence.
♥I send warm heartfelt thanks to Rich, loving dad to A and A; an all-around good and loving soul.
♥I send loving shout-outs to Dike, Ikem, Richard I and Princewill, my brothers and loving fathers too.
♥I send kudos to Uncle Tony, Chuks, Pres Obama and all the strong, striving dads out there in the world.
♥I send thanks and gratitude, above all, to my Creator.

As we reflect on those who have guided us, please take a moment to send well wishes to those families who lost a loved one in the Orlando shootings. The horror of that event continues to haunt my spirit and dreams, and I have not been able to articulate a post that could even begin to address it. Give blood, hug your loved ones, let go of hate and prejudice… we are all human first. We all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Thank you.

Whether we choose to celebrate Father’s Day or not, take a moment to express gratitude to your loved ones, and to all who add sunshine to your life. Have a wonderful Father’s Day!

Father’s Day is lost on me since I didn’t have a good example for a Dad. My Mom is also my Dad since she was the one who really stepped up to the role.

My Dad passed away just before I turned 16–I remember his last words to me–he said all I can leave you is my good name. But oh–he left me so much more! He taught me through his actions to accept every person for themselves and to give of myself.

What a great tribute to your dad and all dads <3 I never knew my father, as he passed away when my mother was pregnant with me. I still feel his presence though. In the little things that I do that remind those people who knew him of him 🙂

I love to read your enthusiastic words towards Father’s day despite losing your father some years ago. I tried to enlighten up the mood of one blogger as she’s in sorrow to her father’s death six years ago, by commenting on their photo, but it seems she did not like it. Anyway, I also lost my father seven years ago and I live every dayy, trying to keep his legacy. 🙂
