Without touching my subject I want to come to the moment when, through pure concentration of seeing, the composed picture becomes more made than taken. For this photo challenge exercise on the word – PURE -, what came to mind were some early morning shots I took of blooms in my garden, and the view of the Hudson River from Hudson Park. I love the early morning hours because, normally, only the birds are stirring, and all the sounds and movement that become our lot, as the day progresses, are still asleep. It is a pure and perfect time to meditate on the beauty of nature and express gratitude for another day of life.

As I mentioned above, the pictures I shared for this exercise were taken very early in the morning; by the Hudson River looking north and then south, and in my garden. I love walking through my garden a day after a heavy rainfall. Why? Because everything in the garden shimmers and glows as if dusted by golden raindrops; all of it looks quite pure… pristine comes to mind for me.What does your early morning look like? I take a daily walk early in the morning and everything about the river at that time is pure, quiet, and pristine. I also love walking through my garden a day after a rainfall. One day, I grabbed my camera and walked around the yard, taking photos of the different blooms in the garden. The result are the photos above. I hope you like them.
