The nectarous treats from Sweden come to us through the exquisite palate of Chef Emma Bengtsson, a renowned pastry chef and executive chef of the two-star Michelin restaurant – Aquavit. Chef Emma is one of three women to achieve two-star Michelin status and she shares her love for great food, both Swedish and international cuisine, at the restaurant and in the wonderful selections you will find in the Swedish Box. Chef Emma learned the secrets of preparing fabulous Nordic foods from her grandmother and, as we move towards Mother’s Day, I can’t help but remember all the moms and Grandmas who shared/ continue to share their love of cooking with their loved ones. Chef Emma is also an avid bachata dancer; a salsa-like dance form practiced in the Dominican Republic.
Have you ever been to Sweden or tried Swedish food? Sweden is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe and is the 3rd largest nation in the European Union. Norway borders it on the west, Finland on the east, and Denmark through a bridge-tunnel on the southwest. What is in the Sweden Box? My beautifully packed box arrived with 8 mouthwatering items that you wouldn’t want to miss. 1. Double Chocolate Crisps by Gille. These delectable treats are made with local ingredients from Southern Sweden and are a coffee break/fika staple. 2. Rosehip Nordic Fudge by Krav is made with wild berries and rosehips harvested from forests in the north. They are carefully prepared by hand and the taste is divine. 3. Flatbread Crisps by Mörsjö Deli made with barley and baked to perfection. You have to taste these crunchy delights to understand. 4. The Lingonberry Jam by Hafi is one of my favorites. I’ve tried a number of brands and Hafi is consistently top-notch. This is a slightly tart jam made with berries picked in wild, eco-certified forests. 7. Sweet and Hot Mustard by Liss Ellas is an international, gold medal-winning mustard that tastes out of this world. The creators have earned their 16 awards by curating the best domestically grown mustard seeds and mixing in honey and excellent spices for a gustatory treat. 8. Kharisma Ground Coffee by Löfbergs; last but not least, we can wash it all down with this exquisitely made coffee. The beloved Löfbergs company has been harvesting and packaging terrific coffee blends using sustainable, eco-friendly methods since 1906.
Some years back, I visited a dear school friend, Lotta, and her family, in Stockholm and got to sight-see and enjoy a wonderful array of foods and offerings that make it a great place to visit. So, writing this post brings back warm memories of my time in Sweden. I have never been to Sweden but my parents have and brought back some of their chocolates and little odd bits of things. I love to try different things from everywhere so Sweden is no different. I used to live overseas for awhile and miss a lot of different flavors that the different countries had to offer. This is a definite must for me!

I love to receive a goods from another country and taste their food
I have had the chance to try Swedish food but my adventure with the cuisine has been limited to Swedish meatballs and the dill-cured salmon called gravlax. Both are delicious though. This Sweden Box gives a variety of Swedish treats that gives a glimpse of what Swedish food is like. I don’t mind trying it myself.

Aw this is interesting, Sweden is somewhere we always talk about visiting as it’ not to far from the UK but I had thought about the food there. Some Nordic fudge would definitely be o our gift list.
My grandmother was from Sweden and I remember her cooking well. Especially the Swedish meatballs, pancakes, and sweet bread. She also made pickled herring, but those I left for my uncles. Brought back wonderful memories .. thank-you!
I love this Swedish food box and though I have never been to Sweden I now know a lot more of the type of treats they eat there. I love the look of the Nordic fudge and I adore Licorice and was surprised that they make it in Sweden too as the Licorice I usually eat here in Ireland is from Australia.
