For this week’s Photo Challenge assignment on Half-Light, I chose two poems that spoke to that mystical time of day when dusk comes calling but hasn’t quite made it to nighttime. There is a beauty in the sky and a calming effect that makes us pause and inhale the evening air. When I think of the photos that would be suitable for the subject of half-light, I think of sunset, evening light … dusk. I have to admit though that what kept popping up in my mind was sunset, not that in between time. This one was tougher to do but, I learned something new about capturing another time of day and the shots that fit in that space. I know I have some in my files that would be perfect but, I need to take new ones. Have a Happy Easter Weekend! Enjoy the shots!

An evening light
not so very bright
as hardened shadow’s kiss
nor so dark
that as in night’s embrace
I deeply fall asleep again.
That evening light
that slows down time
as homeward many race
to slumber
in our dream like beds.

that in Its light appearance seems

I enjoyed looking for two poems that spoke to me about the beauty and calming effect of evening light. Finding the right photos to feature wasn’t such fun and, while I’ve shared the above, … I don’t think they do justice to the beauty of the evening shade and light. If I find and take better shots, I’ll add them here. Have a restful Easter Weekend! I hope you enjoyed my versions of Half-Light.

What beautiful poems! I see why they spoke to you, and I can understand how challenging it would be to capture a photo of that exact evening light. Nevertheless, these are gorgeous photos that give off that sense of peace and serenity.

i love capturing sunsets as they are so lovely and the colors are always a little different

There’s nothing quite as serene & peaceful as a beautiful sunset. These photos are all so lovely and really capture the essence of a sunset well. That poem is a perfect complement, too!

Very nice images. Funny how sometimes sunset makes me feel like wrapping myself with a blanket even when it’s not even cold outside. It’s that immediate sense of comfort for the night and hope for a brighter day the next it arrives.

Gorgeous photos as usual. My youngest has just been noticing the sunsets and grabbing my phone and taking lots of photos of them. My husband loves taking sunset photos as well.
