Weekly Photo Challenge: SEASONS

“There are seasons in life. Don’t ever let anyone try to deny you the joy of one season because they believe you should stay in another season… Listen to yourself. Trust your instincts. Keep your perspective.” Jane Clayson

Of all the seasons, winter is the most conducive to the great art of dormancy. This art requires an appreciation of semi-consciousness: the beautiful and necessary prelude to sleep – a special pleasure in itself that is all too often neglected, under-valued or looked down upon. Michael Leunig

What is about the seasons that keeps us anticipating change or longing for something more? I’m still in the throes of adjusting to the shifting winter winds as spring sneaks in a warmer day here and there, buds begin to threaten to peek through the ground, and left over Valentine’s Day blooms pop up in surprising places. Winter is still with us and, with each freezing day, we are reminded to appreciate the warmer days, the occasional bursts of color and the scavenging birds that teach us all that we can survive the changes … Enjoy the shots.

“To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring.” George Santayana

The coming and going of the seasons give us more than the spring-times, summers, autumns, and winters of our lives. It reflects the coming and going of the circumstances of our lives like the glassy surface of a pond that shows our faces radiant with joy or contorted with pain. Gary Zukav

How are you coping with your current season? Which would you rather have?  Personally, I’m a spring and summer girl. I love fall clothing and the changing colors but, winter sets my teeth on edge. Poor, cold winter makes tons of people miserable and sends our heating bills skyrocketing to the moon. Yet, when I think about it objectively, I know that there is something wonderful about having seasonal changes. The shifts force us to look within and remember what just went by.  They also give us something to look forward to as we wait out one season in preparation for the next.  Come back for more.

“Everything has seasons, and we have to be able to recognize when something’s time has passed and be able to move into the next season. Everything that is alive requires pruning as well, which is a great metaphor for endings.” Henry Cloud

When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons retain their essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a premonition of winter, but then, winter, will be forced to relent, once again, to the new beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and the sweet air of spring. Madeleine M. Kunin

When all is said and done, the seasons are very much like the seasons of our lives. We go through sunny and dark periods; each period brings experiences, lessons, and some shift and growth into our lives. Have an awesome weekend!

My fellow Bloggers were equally creative with their selections.  Check out how others interpreted the theme –  SEASONS – also below. ***

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: Seasons   Seasons. Share an image evocative of the weather or represent the current “season of your life” in metaphor.  This week, share what the concept of Seasons means to you. With readers of all ages, backgrounds, and representation from both hemispheres, we can’t wait to see what you share.

Positive Motivation Tip:  Each season provides experiences that shape and etch memories in our hearts. Change is inevitable so stay open to the wonders of the seasons…
