Resolved: flushed by waves
No time to waste on chaos…
Goodbye Felicia!
A new day has dawned
Your whining set with the sun…
In twenty sixteen
Soon to exit … left
A New Year’s Resolution
Drama Queens and … Kings
Resolution Day!
Toxic rivers poison earth
toxic people … same.
Have you made any resolutions for 2016 that you intend to keep? I’m not one for creating a list of what not to do/what to do in the new year but, I agree that some decisive action must be taken about some lingering issues in a new year. It’s a new year and it’s time to distance yourself from the usual suspects … The Sirens and their ilk. It is time to wave goodbye and flush away the drama. Adding a bit of humor to our lives will be a tremendous help too. Don’t take yourself too seriously … just stay true to who you are.

Your exit like pepper spray…
A sting that lingers
We will celebrate
Resolved: water doused fire
Goodbye Felicia!
Forgiveness is late…
Spring time will bring an update
With new seeds planted
Restitution Day!
Tranquil streams augur new life

In the second half of this haiku, there is hope for something better to take place in the spring. Sometimes, we need to muzzle the monster before we can come to terms with what we need to do to resolve our challenges. I’m not very good at smoke and mirrors and prefer to stay true to who I am. Some of us are less direct and don’t express what we observe; doing so doesn’t mean you are a good/bad person nor does speaking your mind make you a trouble maker. You are doing YOU! N’est pas? So, let’s drop the silly pretensions and be at peace with it. When we clean house, we open our doors to new and better opportunities to come our way. May your resolve be rewarded with friendlier folk and better days. Happy 2016! Hope you enjoyed this Wednesday creative writing challenge.
