They say that the eyes are the windows to our soul and they tell the stories we withhold. We spend so much time hiding behind our masks and telling stories that reveal only what we want others to know… but the eyes don’t lie. Have you ever looked in the eyes of a cold-hearted soul? What about the eyes of a furious friend? Grandpa’s warm and loving eyes? A mother’s gaze? All tell stories about the soul behind the eyes.

Today, my dear friend, Esme, and I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to shop for floor mops. Two or so hours later, we walked out with beds for our beloved cats … Ha! Yes, it was one of those strange shopping expeditions we all go on from time to time. I hurried home delighted to share the gift with our Tangy. He took one look at it and decided he wasn’t having any of this new, triangular, furry bed! He sniffed it, scratched it, sat on top of it but, adamantly, refused to climb into it. At one point, he glared at me and climbed into his old, favorite Amazon cardboard box!

I checked the Photo Challenge assignment for the day, saw Michelle’s dog, Henry the Springer Spaniel and his darling, droopy eyes, and decided that our cat snuggled in his new home, and gazing out,  would be perfect.  Heck, there was even a fabulous shot of a cute cat peering out from the triangular bed on the box it came in. I was determined to get our Tangy to pose for a similar cute shot … Right. Do you own a cat? No prices for guessing who would win this creative exercise.

I tried everything; toys, coaxing, food, and threats but, he was determined to stay away from the new bed. The best I could do was what you see above and further above. Peering in from one end of the open triangle. I waved at him with one hand and he stared me down from the other open end of the triangle bed. I captured as many shots as I could, including some of him sitting on the damn fine, furry bed, not in it. Phew! What about you? Stay Safe! Stay inspired. Have a Happy Weekend!
