Straddling two fragmented worlds
Outside … looking in

Cultures shape beliefs
Stagnant pools of wasted lives
Watched from the … inside

What lies do we tell?
What dreams do we let perish?
Clawing our way in…

Life on the outside
Excoriated by “THEM”
Blinded … WE. Are. THEM.

Insiders, look … out
All Outsiders, go … within.
We are all the same

Exploring the subject of insider/outsider is a complex one.  In certain situations, we are either one, the other, or marginalized out of the conversation entirely. As I thought about it, I couldn’t help but remember S.E. Hinton’s quote above and the fact that the sun sets on us all…

They forget … WE are all flawed
Ravaged by the rage

What lies do we tell?

Clawing our way out…

Weak, unworthy pests…
Vile, entitled, like the rest…
The sun sets on all

If you ever feel like an Outsider, remember that all is ephemeral and life deals us cards that we must learn to turn over and make better. Today, you might feel unworthy and next day feel on top of the world… Why? Find the equilibrium in life that gives you peace of mind and know that we are truly all in search of Self.

Outsiders belong

Insiders, look … out
And Outsiders, go … within.
We are all the same

When all is said and done, regardless of where we fit in the social cultural divide, we are essentially all the same.  We need more understanding in our world. May we all find that place of equanimity and peace within.
