It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary. David Bailey

For this exercise, what came to mind was the wide ranging colors of Fall/Autumn. I don’t think I can imagine anytime that foliage glows with such bright and beautiful shades of yellow/orange/red and even taupe… It is a time of change and with it, nature gives another shout heralding the coming of darker, quieter seasonal change. Fall can’t be beat and I find her hues to be extraordinary. Come back for more later!

My eyes are constantly wide open to the extraordinary fact of existence. Not just human existence, but the existence of life and how this breathtakingly powerful process, which is natural selection, has managed to take the very simple facts of physics and chemistry and build them up to redwood trees and humans. Richard Dawkins

We can find joy in almost anything we set our heart to… I find the colors of fall exciting. As Wade Boggs said once, “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.” Look around you and You will be inspired. Have a Happy Weekend!

My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. Check out how others interpreted the theme – Extraordinary– below.

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: Extraordinary  –   Mundane and meaningful objects. Beautiful everyday things. This week, surprise us with something or someone (extra)ordinary. I expect wildly different and very personal takes on this theme, (Extra)ordinary, because our own ideas and experiences will shape our interpretations. What’s mundane yet meaningful to you? What’s a beautiful everyday thing? Or, maybe you can capture an ordinary setting or common scene that has somehow transformed — with festive decor or a new coat of paint.

Positive Motivation Tip: From the ordinary comes the extraordinary; We must know the ordinary to appreciate the extraordinary

What a lovely outcome to your photography challenge this week. Fall is such an extraordinary time of year, and your photos really capture everything there is to enjoy about right now. Unfortunately, the fall foliage didn’t stick around as long as I had hoped it would. We had one bad frost already and with it, the mountains are dimmer and all of the foliage in our backyard has already died off.
