Weekly Photo Challenge: From Every Angle – Breakdancer on a Manhattan St
Even the dullest bird or face becomes interesting when you give it a good look in the wild/flesh. The way the shadow drops across the cheek, the light hits an eyebrow, etc… there are many more angles, positions etc. than you can ever imagine. These photos speak for themselves. When I saw today’s photo challenge – From Every Angle – I thought of a few things and decided on the collection of pictures here. I considered food but, I wanted a bit more movement and this first shot fit the bill. In case you are wondering, I took the pictures from a Tour of Manhattan bus that was a hilarious ride… more on that later. The break-dancer gave us a street show and I captured what I could from a slow-moving bus. We live in a 3 dimensional world, and we might as well capture as much of it as we can and pay attention to everything!. My smartphone camera took most of the photos for this challenge.

I know, I know, I know… It is a very tacky looking Xmas tree that I saw in a hospital waiting room. Yet, something about it was very charming. I figured that a few different angle shots of it would be entertaining… I hope it made you laugh out loud as it did me… Yep, I saw it today!

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: From Every Angle – For this week’s photo challenge, photograph a person, or a piece of fruit, or a toy — any stationary object — and experiment by photographing it from different angles. While there is no minimum — and you’re always welcome to adapt every photo challenge to meet your needs — I challenge you to choose three of your favorite shots and post them in a gallery on your blog.
Here are a few tips to help you alter your photographic composition:
Photograph a person by beginning from their left side and slowly moving around to their right. Always have them either look directly at you, or ask them to focus on a spot on the wall as you move.
Take wide-angle shots and tight shots.
Photograph a plate of food from slightly above, from directly above, or making sure that part of the plate is cut out of the frame.
Photograph your child by getting down to his or her level or by standing just out of their reach as they swing on a swing.

This is a wonderful tutorial article about photography. I plan on using the article’s numerous tips to help improve the photography in my blog site.
“We live in a 3 dimensional world, pay attention to everything!” I love this :). I was doing campus tours with new grad students recently and helping them get orientation on campus. One of the students made the comment that you had to “look up” to orient yourself in the city. I always oriented myself based on the buildings at eye level in front of me. Looking up really did make it easier!!
What a great insight… I must look up next time I’m in the city too. 🙂

LOVE the idea behind this challenge, capturing things from every angle is so much fun and gives such an exposed view to “perspective” and how we can see things.

I like this challenge. It’s good to look at things from different angles and different perspectives.
I try to get a few angles of anything I am photographing. You never really know which the light will look best in until you see them all.

I love taking pictures of a single subject from different angles and pick out which one shows it off at its best. Not every angle looks good, some angles show some flaws amongst other things.

It is a beautiful world we have. Life seen at different angles would be the best thing to do for us to understand it better. I would have wanted to take a picture of my fur baby in different angles but he just won’t cooperate today.
I thought of my cat but didn’t have enough time to get him to pose… 😉
I loved that Christmas tree as well. I could almost imagine it having a voice and personality of its own, and just dreaming of being seen by the right pair of eyes and suddenly catapulted into a central location in some Hollywood spectacular so that, even in old age or when, as with so many of us, it had been dissembled and put into a hundred different drawers it would remain confident that it had attained some kind of immortality 🙂
OMG!!!! Peter you are hysterical. Isn’t it amazing that the tacky Christmas-in-August tree is the hit of this challenge? It says something about being true to who we are. I found it’s presence very charming. 🙂

This is the reason why I take forever when I take my photos ( my boyfriend complains about it, lol ). Even if I already know how I’m going to frame my subject, I always always always take shots from various angles. It’s always worked for me.
I think most photogs do too. I take tons of photos to get one great shot. Sometimes, I take tons and they all come out horrid…the one take magnificent shot is a rare phenom.
I love the different angles. They give us a different take on the same subject. Some times… we have to see something from a different angle to see its beauty.

For my other blog posts, I use mine and Public Domain photos that I find through Wikipedia. I always give photo credits/attributions at the end of my posts. The breakdancer was having fun and so were we… Pity, it was a moving bus and I didn’t carry my DSLR. Thank you! 🙂

Photography is so interesting as a result of the angles the photographer uses. Something so simple and basic can look so incredibly exciting and unique just by using a different angle or perspective.

Always great to take pictures of people dancing. Some shots really turn out very dynamic and exciting and elegant. As far as Blueman Group, I did not really enjoy their show when we caught it in Boston. – Fred
Part of my challenges is taking movement photos and people. At times I feel frustrated because my photos did not turn out as what I expect. Thanks to for the photography composition tips, i will try to photograph a person by beginning from their left side and slowly moving around to their right. And maybe try a few angle.
Sometimes, angle in photography creates a new story or image. Just like in life if we relate it. There’s always a different angle of the story for every person.
Angle is like our perception of things; our preference. When I also take pictures, I try as much as possible to take a photo of things in different angles and then I will choose from the shots which is best.
Different angles means differents perspective in life! I try to be unique most of the time and not follow all the norms in spciety
