What’s On Your List For Summer?
Read the rest of the post for Rest and Relaxation … Below is a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson on Summer Sun
Summer Sun by Robert Louis Stevenson
Great is the sun, and wide he goes
Through empty heaven with repose;
And in the blue and glowing days
More thick than rain he showers his rays.

Though closer still the blinds we pull
To keep the shady parlour cool,
Yet he will find a chink or two
To slip his golden fingers through.

The dusty attic spider-clad
He, through the keyhole, maketh glad;
And through the broken edge of tiles
Into the laddered hay-loft smiles.

Meantime his golden face around
He bares to all the garden ground,
And sheds a warm and glittering look
Among the ivy’s inmost nook.

Above the hills, along the blue,
Round the bright air with footing true,
To please the child, to paint the rose,
The gardener of the World, he goes. Via FamousPoetsandPoems.com

    Seth Godin is a favorite author of my son. He reads about everything he writes and often sends me links. I enjoy his writing too.

    My summer to do list is to get as much done for the family as I could. Summer is the time for us to go places and enjoy hours and hours bonding as a family.

    Seeing the vibrant pictures remind me of how lively life should be. Well making your life more colorful depends on how you act on it. Just like exploring the beautiful nature and interact on it with your family and friends.

    Our summers in New England are relatively short…it’s always at the top of my list to spend as much time as possible at the beach with my family! Quality time with the kids is so important and we love the ocean!

    what’s on my summer to do list? hmmm, just have fun most of the time and at the same time study some more ( or do advance planning), actually, studying/learning is also fun for me, so it still falls in the category of simply have fun and enjoy life 🙂

    What’s on my list? I don’t but it’s nice to know about yours, relaxation is indeed a one major part in our life. It helps us feel unstressed once we actually relax, not only our mind, but also our body.

    Finding that healthy balance between going with what we want and not hurting others can sometimes be a challenge. For the most part though, I agree with moving forward with what you know is good/right for you. 🙂

    My list? For this summer, I really just want to cherish the time I have with my kids. My oldest gets married in May, and I know I will see less of him from then on. It makes me a little sad, but I’m glad he’s got a lovely young woman to share his life with. Cherishing is on my list.

    I always try to follow my own voice in my own blog! It can sometimes be a challenge to make sure every single sentence is in my voice, but if I don’t infuse the blog with who I am, then what chance do I have to show my uniqueness?

    This summer I plan to do more in depth planning of what I really want to do with my career. I am seriously thinking of doing work at home jobs and leave my current night shift job that I have been holding for a decade. The lack of sleep has taken a toll on my health.
