Hot Pursuit Official Trailer #1 (2015) – Sofia Vergara, Reese Witherspoon Movie HD

On Wednesday, a group of bloggers and our guests were treated to an evening of cocktails, candy, hors d’oeuvres and a preview of the new movie HOT PURSUIT starring Reese Witherspoon as Police Officer Rose Cooper, Sofía Vergara as Daniella Riva, and a host of crazy, comedic characters portraying dirty cops, drug cartel honchos, an armed farmer and a love interest. The basic premise of the movie is that Witherspoon/Cooper, “an uptight and by-the-book cop,” who was assigned to desk duty after running over the local mayor’s son in her small town in Texas, has been given an opportunity to get back into the ranks with a new tough assignment. She is to go with another cop, Officer Jackson, to pick up Sofia/Daniella who plays the wife of, Felipe Riva, a drug dealer/mob boss who has agreed to testify against his drug cartel boss, Vincente Cortez, and place her in protective custody.

“I’m the best chance you have at surviving” Reese Witherspoon (Cooper) to Sofía Vergara (Daniella Riva)

Hot Pursuit Official Trailer #2 – Exclusive Intro (2015) – Sofia Vergara, Reese Witherspoon Movie HD

Witherspoon/Cooper arrives at the Riva home to find Sofia/Daniella in tight clothes, sexy, sky-high shoes, and mouthing off about her own plans. Before any real attempt to escort Sofia to safety is made, a couple of masked crooked cops and cartel cronies show up. The ensuing shoot out leaves Felipe and  Officer Jackson dead, and the rest of the movie is one hysterically funny adventure of mishaps, escape attempts and smart one-liners, that would make even the most serious-minded amongst us laugh out loud.  The comedic storyline isn’t quite as linear as one would expect. There are twists and complex turns that change what the film might appear to be; we find out snippets about the key characters as this highly entertaining movie progresses. What do we learn? I’ll save you from all the spoilers, you’d have to watch the movie to find out.  I’ll share a couple of helpful tidbits below though.

More Below!

“Stop treating me like some stupid rookie cop” Reese Witherspoon (Cooper) to Sofía Vergara (Danielle Riva)

Hot Pursuit – Official Trailer 2 [HD]

For starters, the dirty cops in pursuit of Cooper and Daniella are small fry compared to the bigger crooked cop she confronts later. The cartel gunmen pursuing them also have a surprise connection to Sofia.  Vincente Cortez, the cartel honcho that the Feds want to prosecute, has a personal beef with Sofia and vise versa. Cortez is a tough guy who isn’t afraid to shoot his opponent anywhere even at a celebratory event. The movie is fast paced, funny and full of great moments that would have you laughing in the theater. Reese and Sofia are well matched in that they are such polar opposites,  you won’t help but love their barbs at each other and their moments of collaboration. Love shows up in the guise of, Randy, a criminal on the lam. He adds a sweet and equally funny touch to the movie and you’d love the exchanges he has with Reese/Cooper. This is an entertaining movie to enjoy with friends on an evening out. It’s worth the over the top laughs, Officer Cooper’s robot-like behavior and police-jargon juxtaposed against Sofia’s sexy mama antics. Go see this one!

Now grab your tickets and head on out to your local theater starting May 8th to see this adorable movie. You can also read more about Hot Pursuit on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

I’ve been watching Reese Witherspoon for as long as I can remember and she’s one of those actresses that I’ve seen grow up. It’s going to feel different though seeing her in a comedy film, but I guess that just shows how good she is at her craft. She can do any genre.
