I love this theme because all moments captured in photos are technically ephemeral. I think that’s why we are compelled to capture them in the first place.

I love all of the photos. My favorite is the sunflower. I have grown some of these and they got huge.
These were gigantic too. I was driving by and had to pull over to gawk at them. Then saw the bees and picked up my camera and walked closer to the flowers. I wasn’t scared as they were busy with their task and nary a wasp in site.
Wow…that first photo…the bees on the sunflower? Pure gold! Great capture!

I first encountered the word ‘ephemeral’ when I read The Little Prince for the first time. I’ve been enamored by the word ever since.
These photos are seriously stunning!!! The first one is my absolute fave, but I am biased because I love sunflowers 😉
Great quotes always but I was especially taken with the fish because you get a lovely sense of another world or dimension which we are allowed a peek into.

Elizabeth, what i like about your posts is the sophisticated quotes that you use. The have really deep meaning and i always learn something from them. Keep it up.
I specifically liked the marcus aurelious quote about fame. People act like fame is something so valuable, but many aren’t able to understand how quickly it is gone.
That quote from Emilio Estevez really sticks out. I guess because he was so popular for awhile. I wondered what had happened to him. Maybe he’s just loving life and family outside of the limelight? In any case, the post is true…lots of things that are ephemeral matter, or don’t, depending. 🙂

i love both the sunset and squirrel picture! i always feel that to be able to snap a full frontal picture of a squirrel takes quite some luck, for they’re always so shy and scurries off at the slightest noise.

Film is an illusion. Fame is ephemeral. Is it really so? But I feel that film also can preserve memories, and fame is forever for some people… like Marilyn Monroe…
Yes, but film creates an illusion through the characters, settings and location. As for fame, it is ephemeral for those who have it. It might appear as if it is forever but, the person you mentioned is long gone… Those are the points Emilio was making.
I think there’s just something about creating joy in every moment. And living life to it’s fullest. We never know when an opportunity will present itself again.

Every photo defines what Ephemeral is. Love that Sunset over the Hudson River photo. As if it is telling that sunset will indeed comes in one’s life and that one way or another the sun’s light touches one’s soul.
