Recently, I was chatting with one of my kids on the phone; our cat heard her voice and came closer. I told him to strike a pose for her as she always says he should be a cat model. He positioned himself on my copy of By The Book, steadied himself into a comfy position, and looked straight at the camera. I could almost hear him say, “Okay, just this one shot and then don’t bother me again. EVER!.”  Hahaha. We love our cat, Tangy, as he always finds ways to upstage everyone in my household. He definitely knows how to express himself.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Express Yourself! Thanksgiving Turkey hats at Trader Joe’s

I love my local Trader Joe’s and shop there as often as possible. I love the staff too because they are a friendly, energetic bunch. For Thanksgiving week, they wore these crazy hats. I thought the whole idea was brilliant. As a regular customer there, I know how hard they work to please us. The hats put a smile on my face, and I gamely asked this friendly dude at the register to tilt his head so I could capture a few shots of his hat. He did. If you look closely at the shot, you’d notice that the guy behind him is also wearing a turkey hat. His hat isn’t quite as jazzy but the intent is the same – make the customers smile … Now that’s an expressive way to say – Happy Thanksgiving!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Express Yourself! Our kids rocking out at 3 years old

I had to share this favorite shot of my twins playing around. Back in the days when life was easy, boomboxes were everywhere in NYC, and kids goofing off as rappers were still the rage (said tongue-in-cheek), my kids jumped right in and I caught this hilarious shot.  My twins pulled off a cool pose with dark shades, a mini boombox and a thumbs up. This picture always makes me laugh and I hope it cheers your day too. They still know how to express themselves, just differently now. Hope you enjoyed your visit. I’m dying to see your photos.
