In 2015: 12 Tips For Living A Healthy Lifestyle – Walk in Nature and Inhale Fresh Air

♥ Self-Care means Nurturing All of Our Being – Exercise the body, mind and spirit and feed it uplifting messages. Take walks in nature and inhale the fresh air outdoors. Stay physically, emotionally & mentally healthy by creating space for ME Time. You earned it and deserve it.
♥ There Is Nothing To Prove, We Are Enough – Once you believe in yourself and believe you belong, here, there, anywhere, there is no need to convince others. Just be.
♥ Set Achievable Goals/Resolutions – Make sure you spend time visualizing your goals and acting on them. If we move our feet, the universe will rally to support us.
♥ Self-Acceptance Is Key to a Healthier Life – Wherever you go, Wherever you are, whatever you do, your health, happiness and sense of self begins with accepting who YOU are. mirthandmotivation.com

For many of us, 2015 started on a high note. We wrote down goals, planned a list of activities to do, and promised to nurture ourselves. Where are you on that plan today? Are you spot on or have you fallen off? Have no fear because it is never too late to start again. Above and below, I’ve shared my 12 tips to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle this year. Sometimes, we forget that we need to include our mind and spirit with plans for our bodies. The tips include self-care and self acceptance. Remember, no matter what we choose to do, we are enough.

In 2015: 12 Tips For Living A Healthy Lifestyle - Meditate. Explore the World

In 2015: 12 Tips For Living A Healthy Lifestyle – Meditate. Explore the World

♥ Make Friends with Gratitude and Charity – Express Thanks and Gratitude as often as possible. When we feel truly content, when we feel grateful for our lot, we are not afraid to help others or share our abundance. Practice both.
♥Celebrate life; Eat, Pray, & Love Abundantly –  Life is also about celebrations. Make the time to enjoy your life with loved ones. Acknowledge the abundance around you and give Peace a chance.
♥Find a Mentor and/or a Workout Buddy –  Take that Yoga class with a buddy. Run. Walk. Meditate. One thing that is sure to help us meet our goals is having a mentor/buddy system. When two or more agree to a task, the bond grows stronger and becomes easier to accomplish.
♥Don’t Give Up even if You Mess Up – We are already in the 3rd week of the month and if you’ve fallen off track, don’t despair. We all mess up. Recommit and keep going. mirthandmotivation.com

When I was a little girl, I had an Aunt who was a very positive person. When you asked her: “How are you doing?” She’d say, “Things are looking better every day!” It didn’t matter what was going on in her life, things were always looking better.  You know what? Because of her upbeat attitude, things always turned around for her. Be grateful for the good things, celebrate the successes, eat and sleep well, build a buddy system, and when things get messed up, strap on your tough terrain boots and keep on climbing upwards. I remind myself of this all the time and, believe me, I’ve had my share of those messed up moments. In those times, I meditate, check my attitude, and explore my surroundings with beginners eyes. I look for the lessons and the good in every situation. What about you?

In 2015: 12 Tips For Living A Healthy Lifestyle - Add variety and color to your life

In 2015: 12 Tips For Living A Healthy Lifestyle – Add variety and color to your life

♥Constantly Comparing Self to Others Leads to Misery – Until we walk in another person’s shoes we don’t know their struggles, so stop the hand-wringing. Some people look at others and think, “If only…”  A healthy lifestyle includes checking our stinking thinking and clearing it out. We are where we are for a reason.
♥Envy Is A Waste Of Time – Envying another and feeding the green-eyed monster of jealousy will diminish us and our skills. Envy grows like weeds in the garden. The sooner we clear the weeds, the better. Each of us has merit and skills, and if we focus on our strengths we will see our passion grow.
♥Perform Random acts of Kindness – Many of us know that when we’re feeling down, the best way to brighten our day is to help someone else feel better.  Treat a stranger to lunch. Serve the homeless at a soup kitchen. Prepare a meal for a sick neighbor. Try it.
♥The Future Is Now… Live – Take time now to smell those roses, plant those seeds and choose a saner, healthier lifestyle. Tempus Fugit! mirthandmotivation.com

I know, it’s so easy to make excuses about why we are not living a healthy lifestyle. We’ve all been there at some point in our lives. Truth is that if we made some adjustments in our thinking, and add effort to the mix, we’ll be on our way to health. Another truth is that helping others adds to our happiness quotient, so refocus your goals to include acts of kindness towards others. Start with small steps. The road to healthy living is littered with big dreams that became overwhelming chores. Start with one SMART goal and build on it. I know you can do it. Here’s to a year of healthy living and a positive, rich, celebratory lifestyle.

What are your thoughts for living healthy in 2015? What did you do for the first day of the year? Are you still on point with your plans/goals?   Have a Fantastic Year! 🙂

Positive Motivation Tip: Start with hope, joy, and great expectations and ACT on your dreams.

I love your aunt! She reminds me of my mother. No matter how tough or how scary life got (and believe me – it was tough and scary), she didn’t allow a negative thought to enter her head.

I’m still working on becoming more healthy for the new year. I started off really good and I’m still working on it. I’ve gotten a lot more fruit/veggies for snacks. I’d say I’m doing pretty well but could still work on a few things.

I eat pretty healthy, but sometimes I eat too much. I am working on it. I loved both the quotes you shared and I need remember that when I do indulge not to beat myself up for it. I know I eat healthier than most people.

I have already had some success with eating less and more healthy things. When this helps to reduce arthritic pain this is a great motivator!
Wishing you a fantastic year too, dear Elizabeth. 🙂

These are all great tips. I tend to follow the 80/20 principal. I eat good 80% of the time and then allow myself a treat here and there. It is much easier to keep up with a plan that way than trying to stick to 100%.

  22. 19/01/2015 2:33 pm

I love this and try to practice it often, “Make Friends with Gratitude and Charity – Express Thanks and Gratitude as often as possible. When we feel truly content, when we feel grateful for our lot, we are not afraid to help others or share our abundance. Practice both.” It has made a very positive difference in the way I feel about myself and my life.

I have dramatically cleaned up my diet over the years. I’ve also been a vegetarian for years, but now leaning towards more of a vegan diet. Last month, I started going to the gym for the first time ever, and I really enjoy it. I hope to take my fitness and wellness routine a step further this year by signing up for yoga classes.

I can use all the tips I can get. This year I pledge to get fit and healthy and at first it seemed so hard but two weeks in I feel it is just getting easier. Staying Positive is one of my goals, I use to let the negitivity in my life take over but now I feel less stressed and thats why it is so much easier to take care of my health.
