Day 1 – Treasure: If we pause to inhale the crisp air, breathe deeply to feel our heart beat, and look at the beauty in the simplest things, we will find treasures and triumphant moments around us.The first thing that came to mind when I saw the word – treasure – was Life and Family; that’s a given. Our families and the gift of life are our cherished treasures.
I got a bit philosophical and chose the glass with red daisies sitting in water. For me, that simple glass with water and two flowers evokes memories of the five senses: Sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and of the five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Sky. When we think about how they came to be, we see the effort that is also in every form of life. There lies the treasure.

Incorporate a form of glass into your image to add a layer of complexity.
Day 2 – Glass: Now glass was an interesting one create because it wasn’t as obvious or easy to do. Instead of shooting from a window, I created the illusion of a peephole like we see on ships and a glass frame behind which we see the intended image. This was complex and complicated to do.

Today is all about straight edges, and tweaking your image to ensure your lines are perfectly positioned.
Day 3 – Edge: If we pay attention to our surroundings, we’d come to notice all the variations of edges that loom before us. In the first picture, the more I looked at it, the more I recognized the edges that were caught in the frame. Do you see them? The stripped white edges on the street is obvious. Where are the rest?

Today, you and your camera are seeing double.
Day 4 – Double: This should have been more varied and I will update it when I find more double trouble shots. For now, I played with the colorful glasses in my cabinet and had a bit of fun. The first shot was created by placing two tumblers in front of a mirror and adding a distinct backdrop. Getting myself out of the frame took some time and effort and then, viola! It worked. The second shot needs no explanation.

Today, let’s bump up the contrast for a bold take on triumph.
Day 5 – Triumph: For triumph, I decided to play with the patterns inside the tumblers and this one caught my attention. It was dramatic and up beat. It reminded me of a giant kaleidoscope. The effect and glow were just what I wanted to capture so that is a triumph for me. I’m still debating my 2nd shot so stop by another time and check it out. What do you think? Have a great weekend.

I love these photo challenges. They really makes you look at things from a different angle and by doing so, often finding beauty in places you would otherwise not have looked. Great pics!
I like seeing glass in the bathroom. It makes the ambiance feel really luxurious and relaxing like in a hotel. If I were to have my own house someday, I would prefer something like that in the pic. 🙂
It’s wonderful how you were able to give each word a definition and relate it with our lives. Our family indeed are our treasures. They are the people who will always stand with us and guide us through life. And just like treasures, we must learn to always value & keep them close to us.

At first, It thought of the title Treasure to Triumph as a pathway of life. And at some point, after realizing your entire post, including the photos, you’re right. I’m seeing a lot of glasses though, and defined them as your vision on life. I find the last picture perfect to culminate this one though.

I treasure family, friends and faith. These three things keep me going. Different things may remind of the three F’s I treasure. It would be hard me to find an object the represents them. If I have to choose, I also choose flowers. Flowers make me happy. Happy is the often the feeling I associate with the 3Fs. -katrina centeno
