Weekly Photo Challenge: Album Cover Art:- Working on this photo challenge took quite a bit of time but it was fun. The idea was to use photographs we took and create album covers. We could then choose a set of songs for each album cover we created and share them with the group.  Creating my covers was hard work but fun. I felt like I had taken a journey into one of those Throwback Thursday prompts, and started digging up songs I love: some old and some new. In my teen years and early 20s, I was a big club-goer. I would dress up, hook up with friends, and head out to some club somewhere in town to dance the night away. Even when I moved to New York, I was still big on clubbing and had tons of fun keeping late nights and sweating off the stress and worries of the day.

When I saw this assignment, I was immediately drawn to music; especially music from the yester-years that I think are timeless. I considered magazines and book covers, but went with music Album covers because that’s what called me the most.  To create the albums, I took a few pictures from my folder and used 2 photo editing tools: Pixlr Express and PicMonkey, to re-frame\rework them and make them into album covers. I selected a bunch of songs from my favorites list on YouTube and voila!  I’ve created a series of albums to help express the mood of the music. Share a song or two and let’s reminisce about the music we used to love and the music we now enjoy… It’s all good.

I hope you enjoyed the walk through my musical interests. I shared only so much of my playlist. I love a lot of music and it’s not feasible to put everything here, so enjoy these. Share a few songs you’d like me to listen to on my free time. I’m always looking for recommendations on new music to listen and enjoy. Have a great week ahead!

This post was inspired by a Daily Post Prompt: Weekly Photo Challenge: Cover Art. For this week’s Photo Challenge, stimulate your creative process and imagine which of your images you would like to see gracing the cover of a book, an album, or a magazine. Would the image inspire us to take a peek through the pages, listen to the music, or buy a ticket to the show? Would it strike a chord with viewers, making them reflect on or revisit memories of places, people, and experiences?

You can take several different approaches to this challenge:

  • Take your favorite album, book, magazine, or show and choose the image that best represents the selected work.
  • If you could make a mix album of songs for yourself, a friend, or a loved one, or write a story about a particular time or experience you’ve had, what would the cover art look like?
  • If a well-known publication came to you asking for a cover image to a particular themed issue they plan to run, what would the theme be (your choice), and what image would you choose to represent it?
  • If you’re doing an album cover, which album would it be? If you’re doing a mixed album, what songs would you use? If your cover art is for a book, is the book fiction or non-fiction? Did you write it? If not, then who? What’s the title of the book

Positive Motivation Tip: There is music and creativity in each of us. Find yours and celebrate.
